Claims (6)
- 表示領域と、前記表示領域の外側の周辺領域とを有し、有機膜が形成されたTFT基板と、
対向基板と、
前記TFT基板と前記対向基板との間に設けられたシールと、
を有する液晶表示装置であって、
前記有機膜は、前記TFT基板の前記表示領域と前記周辺領域とに形成され、前記シールが設けられた領域では、前記シールと前記TFT基板との間にも形成されており、
前記TFT基板と前記シールとの間において、前記有機膜には、前記表示領域を囲んで溝状の有機膜除去部が設けられており、
前記TFT基板のコーナー部における前記有機膜除去部の幅は、前記TFT基板の辺部における有機膜除去部の幅よりも大きく、
前記TFT基板のコーナー部近傍の前記辺部では、複数の前記シールが重なることで、前記シールの幅が広がり、前記シールが前記TFT基板の端部まで形成されていることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 前記TFT基板と前記シールとの間には、周辺回路が形成されており、
前記周辺回路が形成された領域の端部における前記有機膜除去部の幅は、前記コーナー部における前記有機膜除去部の幅よりも小さいことを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記シール領域においては、前記TFT基板と前記対向基板の間隔は、前記対向基板に形成されたスペーサと、前記有機膜とによって規定されていることを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記コーナー部における前記有機膜除去部の幅は、前記辺部における前記有機膜除去部の幅の3倍以上であることを特徴とする請求項1乃至3の何れかに記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記有機膜と液晶層との間には、無機絶縁膜が形成されていることを特徴とする請求項1乃至4の何れかに記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記有機膜除去部は、前記シールに沿って複数列形成され、前記複数列のうち、前記表示領域に近い側の有機膜除去部は、前記コーナー部における除去部の幅が前記辺部における除去部の幅よりも大きいことを特徴とする請求項1乃至5の何れかに記載の液晶表示装置。
