前記方法が更に、
前記上部ピペットシースアパーチャペアの第1の中子孔を通して光を供給するステップと、
前記下部ピペットシースアパーチャペアの第1の中子孔を通して光を供給するステップと、
前記光が前記上部ピペットシースアパーチャペアの第2の中子孔を通過するのを遮られるかどうかを検出するステップと、
前記光が前記下部のピペットシースアパーチャペアの第2の中子孔を通過するのを遮られるかどうかを検出するステップと、
を含み、
前記上部ピペットシースアパーチャペアの第2の中子孔を通る前記光が遮られること、及び前記下部ピペットシースアパーチャペアの第2の中子孔を通る前記光の通過は、前記第1のピペットシース内の前記第1のピペットチップが、前記第1のピペットシース内に挿入されたときに前記下部ピペットシースアパーチャペアまで下方に延びていない長さを有することを示している、ことを特徴とする方法。 - ユニット化された試薬ストリップのピペットシース内のピペットチップの存在の有無を検出する方法であって、
請求項1に記載のユニット化された試薬ストリップを準備するステップと、
前記第1のピペットチップが、前記ピペットシース内で前記第1のピペットチップアパーチャから少なくとも前記第1の中子孔の距離まで延びているかどうかを判定するステップと、
を含む、方法。 - 前記判定するステップが、前記第1のピペットシースの内部の目視検査を含む、請求項21に記載の方法。
- 前記判定するステップが、
前記第1の中子孔を通して前記第1のピペットシースに入射する光ビームを供給するステップと、
前記第1のピペットシース内で前記第1のピペットチップアパーチャから前記第1の中子孔までの距離まで延びた前記第1のピペットチップの存在の有無を示すものとして前記光ビームの反射又は遮蔽を判定するステップと、
を含む、請求項21に記載の方法。 - ユニット化された試薬ストリップのピペットシース内のピペットチップの長さを決定する方法であって、
ユニット化された試薬ストリップを準備するステップを含み、
前記試薬ストリップが、上面及び底面を有するストリップを備え、
該ストリップが、
プロセスチューブと、
前記試薬ストリップを貫通する開口を含み且つ試薬チューブを受け入れるように構成されたレセプタクルと、
を含み、
前記試薬ストリップが更に、
第1及び第2のピペットシースを備え、
前記第1及び第2のピペットシースが、
前記ストリップの上面上に分離した開口を各々が有する第1及び第2のピペットチップアパーチャをそれぞれ含み、前記第1及び第2のピペットチップアパーチャが、前記第1及び第2のピペットシースそれぞれ内への第1及び第2のピペットチップの挿入のために構成され、前記第1及び第2のピペットシースの各々が、前記第1及び第2のピペットシース内に存在するときに前記第1及び第2のピペットチップそれぞれの長さを実質的に囲むように構成されており、前記第1のピペットシース内には、前記第1のピペットシースの側壁を貫通して延びた上部中子孔及び下部中子孔を含み、前記上部中子孔が、前記下部中子孔よりも前記第1のピペットチップアパーチャにより近接して配置されており、
前記方法が更に、
ピペットチップが前記第1のピペットシース内で前記第1のピペットチップアパーチャから前記上部中子孔まで延びているかどうかを判定するステップと、
ピペットチップが前記第1のピペットシース内で前記第1のピペットチップアパーチャから前記下部中子孔まで延びているかどうかを判定するステップと、
を含む、ことを特徴とする方法。 - 前記判定するステップが、前記上部中子孔及び前記下部中子孔を通した前記第1のピペットシースの内部の目視検査を含む、請求項24に記載の方法。
- ピペットチップが前記第1のピペットシース内で前記第1のピペットチップアパーチャから前記上部中子孔まで延びているかどうかを判定するステップが、
前記上部中子孔を通して光ビームを供給するステップと、
前記第1のピペットシース内で前記第1のピペットチップアパーチャから前記上部中子孔まで延びたピペットチップの存在の有無を示すものとして前記光ビームの反射又は遮蔽を判定するステップと、
を含む、請求項24に記載の方法。 - ピペットチップが前記第1のピペットシース内で前記第1のピペットチップアパーチャから前記下部中子孔まで延びているかどうかを判定するステップが、
前記下部中子孔を通して光ビームを供給するステップと、
前記第1のピペットシース内で前記第1のピペットチップアパーチャから前記下部中子孔まで延びたピペットチップの存在の有無を示すものとして前記光ビームの反射又は遮蔽を判定するステップと、
を含む、請求項24に記載の方法。 - 前記ユニット化された試薬ストリップが、第2の中子孔を更に備え、前記上部中子孔及び前記第2の中子孔が、前記第1のピペットシースの対向する側面上で、且つ、前記第1のピペットシースの上部から等距離に存在する、請求項24に記載の方法。
- ピペットチップが前記第1のピペットシース内で前記第1のピペットチップアパーチャから前記上部中子孔まで延びているかどうかを判定するステップが、
前記上部中子孔を通して光を通過させるステップと、
前記光が前記第2の中子孔を通過したかどうかを判定するステップと、
を含む、請求項28に記載の方法。
