Description
上で述べたように、温室における作物の収量は、温室の空気の中の二酸化炭素のレベルを上げることによって改良することができる。本発明は、化石燃料CO2を空気中に放出する燃料の燃焼を用いずに、温室の中に二酸化炭素を導入する方法を提供する。より詳しくは、本願発明者らは、本願発明者らが湿度感受性イオン交換樹脂を採用すると、乾燥した室外の空気からCO2を捕捉し、次いでその樹脂を加温加湿した温室の空気に暴露させることによって、そのCO2を温室の中へ放出させることが可能であるということを見出した。

これに続いて、膜を通過してのCO2(g)の藻類の培地ハーフセルへの拡散が起きる。藻類の培地のハーフセルにおける反応は、下記の二つの内の一つに従うであろう:
藻類がCO2(g)を吸収するか、
または、
CO3 −2(aq) + CO2(g) + H2O → 2HCO3 −(aq)
および
HCO3 −(aq) + OH− → CO3 −2(aq) + H2O
Claims (8)
- 環境空気から二酸化炭素を除去するためのプロセスであって、環境空気を吸収剤と接触状態になるように送気して、前記空気から二酸化炭素を吸収させる工程、前記吸収剤を加湿や湿度スイングして、二酸化炭素を放出させる工程、および前記放出された二酸化炭素を調節された環境の中に送達させる工程、を含み、前記吸収剤は、湿度が低下すると二酸化炭素を取り込み湿度が上昇すると二酸化炭素を放出するアニオン交換樹脂を含む、プロセス。
- 前記アニオン交換樹脂を含む吸収剤が、不均一系イオン交換膜の構成成分であり、場合によっては、前記膜を使用するより前に、最初に水和させ、次いで乾燥させることによってイオン交換膜を前処理する工程を含む、請求項1記載のプロセス。
- 前記調節された環境が、藻類を含むバイオリアクター又は温室を含む、請求項1に記載のプロセス。
- 前記アニオン交換樹脂を含む吸収剤が、強い塩基性のタイプ1またはタイプ2官能性イオン交換樹脂を含む、請求項1に記載のプロセス。
- 請求項1に記載のプロセスを実施するための装置であって:
空気から二酸化炭素を除去するための吸収剤を含む捕集器;
前記吸収剤が加湿や湿度スイングを用いて水への曝露を増加可能にされている前記吸収剤から二酸化炭素を放出させるための放出機構;および
温室又は藻類を含むバイオリアクターへ放出された二酸化炭素を送達するための送達機構;
を含む、装置。 - 前記放出機構が、湿度スイングを用いて前記吸収剤から二酸化炭素を放出する、請求項5に記載の装置。
- 前記バイオリアクターが、藻類の培地を通して放出された二酸化炭素をバブリングする再循環ポンプを有する、請求項5に記載の装置。
- 前記バイオリアクターが、放出されたガス状の二酸化炭素を藻類の培地と接触状態に持ち込むための藻類の培地上で密閉されたヘッドスペース容積を有する、請求項5に記載の装置。
