Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1. 重合体電解質燃料電池(8)、または重合体電解質メンブラン電解電池 の水素側のための、導電性であり、疎水性であり、ガス透過性であるガス拡散電 極(1、1’)であって、カーボンブラックおよびポリテトラフルオロエチレン で含浸した少なくとも1枚の炭素繊維不織布(3、3’)を含んでなることを特 徴とするガス拡散電極。 2. 炭素繊維不織布(3、3’)が炭化された繊維からなることを特徴とす る、請求項1に記載のガス拡散電極(1、1’)。 3. 炭素繊維不織布(3、3’)が、60 g/m2までの質量−面積比を有す ることを特徴とする、請求項1または2に記載のガス拡散電極(1、1’)。 4. 1〜4枚の炭素繊維不織布を含んでなることを特徴とする、請求項1〜 3のいずれか1項に記載のガス拡散電極(1、1’)。 5. 触媒活性層(4、4’)を含んでなることを特徴とする、請求項1〜4 のいずれか1項に記載のガス拡散電極(1、1’)。 6. 触媒活性層(4、4’)が、導電性およびイオン伝導性物質を含んでな り、導電性物質の濃度が、層に対して直角に、炭素繊維不織布からの距離が増加 するにつれて減少し、イオン伝導性物質の濃度が増加することを特徴とする、請 求項5に記載のガス拡散電極(1、1’)。 7. 触媒活性層(4、4’)が、炭素担体上の少なくとも1種の貴金属触媒 および少なくとも1種のイオン伝導性重合体を含んでなることを特徴とする、請 求項5または6に記載のガス拡散電極(1、1’)。 8. 導電性グリッド(2、2’)により補強されていることを特徴とする、 請求項1〜7のいずれか1項に記載のガス拡散電極(1、1’)。 9. グリッド(2、2’)が、メッシュ開口部が0.4〜0.8mmで、ワイ ヤゲージが0.12〜0.28mmのニッケル正方形メッシュ織物であることを特 徴とする、請求項8に記載のガス拡散電極(1、1’)。 10. アノード(1)、カソード(1’)、アノードとカソードの間に配置 された重合体電解質メンブラン(5)を含んでなる重合体電解質燃料電池(8) であって、電極(1、1’)の少なくとも一方が、請求項1〜9のいずれか1項 に記載のガス拡散電極として設計されていることを特徴とする重合体電解質燃料 電池。 11. 下記の工程を含んでなる、重合体電解質燃料電池(8)用のガス拡散 電極(1、1’)の製造法。 a)カーボンブラックおよび少なくとも1種の液体の懸濁液を製造する工程、 b)ポリテトラフルオロエチレンおよび少なくとも1種の液体の懸濁液を用意す る工程、 c)工程a)および工程b)で形成された懸濁液を十分に混合する工程、 d)工程c)で製造された混合物で炭素繊維不織布を含浸させる工程、 e)含浸された炭素繊維不織布を乾燥させる工程、 f)含浸された炭素繊維不織布を少なくとも200℃の温度で焼結させる工程。 12. 工程d)およびe)を1回または数回繰り返すことを特徴とする、請 求項11に記載の方法。 13. 少なくとも1枚の焼結した炭素繊維不織布を500バールまでの圧力 および400℃までの温度でプレスすることを特徴とする、請求項11または1 2に記載の方法。 14. 含浸した炭素繊維不織布の乾燥を室温より高い温度で行なうことを特 徴とする、請求項11〜13のいずれか1項に記載の方法。 15. 炭化された炭素繊維不織布を使用することを特徴とする、請求項11 〜14のいずれか1項に記載の方法。 16. 60 g/m2までの質量−面積比を有する炭素繊維不織布を使用するこ とを特徴とする、請求項11〜15のいずれか1項に記載の方法。 17. カーボンブラックおよび少なくとも1種の液体の懸濁液に、表面張力 を下げるための少なくとも1種の薬剤を加えることを特徴とする、請求項11〜 16のいずれか1項に記載の方法。 18. ポリテトラフルオロエチレンおよびカーボンブラックが1:10〜1 :1の質量比で使用されることを特徴とする、請求項11〜17のいずれか1項 に記載の方法。 19. 下記の工程を含んでなる、ガス拡散電極(1、1’)の表面を触媒活 性層で被覆する方法。 a)炭素担体上の貴金属触媒をイオン伝導性重合体と溶液または懸濁液中で十分 に混合する工程、 b)工程a)で形成された懸濁液をガス拡散電極(1、1’)の表面上に塗布す る工程、 c)塗布した層を乾燥させる工程。 20. 請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載のガス拡散電極(1、1’)を使 用することを特徴とする、請求項19に記載の方法。 21. 工程a)で製造した懸濁液を塗布する前に、懸濁液の液体の一部を蒸 発させることを特徴とする、請求項19または20に記載の方法。 22. 工程b)およびc)を1回または数回繰り返すことを特徴とする、請 求項19〜21のいずれか1項に記載の方法。 23. 異なった濃度の炭素担体上の貴金属触媒およびイオン伝導性重合体を 使用することを特徴とする、請求項22に記載の方法。 24. 下記の工程を含んでなる、メンブランおよび電極のユニット(6、6 ’)の製造法。 a)触媒活性被覆を有する、または有していない、H+ 形態の重合体電解質メン ブラン(5)を製造する工程、 b)重合体電解質メンブラン(5)が触媒被覆されている場合には、請求項1〜 4のいずれか1項に記載のガス拡散電極(1、1’)を、重合体電解質メンブラ ン(5)の片側または両側に配置するか、または重合体電解質メンブラン(5) が触媒被覆されていない場合には、請求項5〜7のいずれか1項に記載のガス拡 散電極(1、1’)を、重合体電解質メンブラン(5)の片側または両側に配置 する工程、 c)ガス拡散電極(1、1’)およびメンブラン(5)の組み立てたものを50 0バールまでの圧力および250℃までの温度でプレスする工程。
