好適な実施形態の第一の組成物は、正孔輸送材料、電子輸送材料及び発光材料からなる群から選ばれる少なくとも1種の材料と、本発明の高分子化合物とを含有する組成物である。この組成物は、例えば、発光材料や電荷輸送材料として用いることができる。
好適な実施形態の薄膜は、本発明の高分子化合物を含有するものであり、すなわち、本発明の高分子化合物を用いてなるものである。薄膜には、本発明の高分子化合物をそのまま含有している態様、本発明の高分子化合物が分子内及び/又は分子間で架橋してなる態様等がある。本実施形態の薄膜は、例えば、発光性薄膜、導電性薄膜、有機半導体薄膜である。

本実施例において、ポリスチレン換算の数平均分子量及び重量平均分子量は、ゲルパーミエーションクロマトグラフィー(GPC、島津製作所製、商品名:LC-10Avp)により求めた。測定する高分子化合物は、約0.5重量%の濃度になるようテトラヒドロフランに溶解させ、GPCに30μL注入した。GPCの移動相にはテトラヒドロフランを用い、0.6mL/分の流速で流した。カラムは、TSKgel SuperHM-H(東ソー製)2本とTSKgel SuperH2000(東ソー製)1本を直列に繋げた。検出器には示差屈折率検出器(島津製作所製、商品名:RID-10A)を用いた。
不活性ガス雰囲気下、1-ブロモヘキサン(410g、2.48mol)、金属マグネシウム(60.7g、2.50mol)及び無水テトラヒドロフラン(2.5L)を攪拌し、溶液1-1を調製した。
不活性雰囲気下、3Lの三つ口フラスコに、3-n-ヘキシル-5-メチルブロモベンゼン(化合物1-1、262g、1.026mol)、及び、無水テトラヒドロフラン(1.5L)を加え均一溶液とし、-70℃に冷却した。得られた溶液に、2.5Mのn-ブチルリチウム/ヘキサン溶液(380mL、0.95mol)を、溶液の温度が-70℃に保たれるように滴下し、同温度にて4時間撹拌し、溶液Aを得た。
不活性雰囲気下、3Lの三つ口フラスコに、合成例2で得た化合物1-2(299g)、及び、無水ジクロロメタン(900mL)を加え、5℃に冷却した。得られた混合物に、温度が0~5℃の範囲内に保たれるように、三フッ化ホウ素ジエチルエーテル錯体(224mL、1.82mmol)を滴下した後、室温にて終夜撹拌した。反応溶液を、2Lの氷水に注意深く注ぎ、30分撹拌し、静置して分液した水層を有機層から除去した。この有機層に、10重量%リン酸カリウム水溶液(1L)を加えて2時間撹拌した後、静置して生成した水層を有機層から除去した。得られた有機層を水(1L)で洗浄し、無水硫酸マグネシウムにて乾燥させた後、濃縮することにより溶媒を留去して、オイル状の液体を得た。このオイル状の液体にメタノールを加え、固体を得た。この固体をn-ブチルアセテート及びメタノールを用いて再結晶を行うことにより、下記式で表される化合物1-3(240g)を得た。
三つ口フラスコに、合成例3で合成した化合物1-3(80g、0.119mmol)、ビス(ピナコレート)ジボロン(66.45g、0.26mol)、1,1-ビス(ジフェニルホスフィノ)フェロセンジクロロパラジウム(II)ジクロロメタン錯体(Pd(dppf)・CH2Cl2、1.457g、1.8mmol)、1,1-ビス(ジフェニルホスフィノ)フェロセン(0.989g、1.8mmol)、無水1,4-ジオキサン(800mL)、及び、酢酸カリウム(70.04g、0.71mol)を加え、100℃で20時間撹拌した。
アルゴン雰囲気下、金属マグネシウム(1.93g、79mmol)及びシクロペンチルメチルエーテル(41mL)からなる混合物に、1-ブロモヘキサン(13.6g、80mmol)及びシクロペンチルメチルエーテル(40mL)からなる溶液を40℃にて少量滴下して撹拌した。次いで、50-56℃にて残りの溶液を50分かけて滴下し、50℃にて2時間撹拌し、混合物Aを調製した。
アルゴン気流下、反応容器に、1-ブロモ-3,5-ジ-n-ヘキシルベンゼン(化合物2-1、200g、0.69mol)とテトラヒドロフラン(157g)を仕込み、均一溶液を調製し、さらにこの溶液を-69℃まで冷却した。この溶液に2.76Mのn-ブチルリチウムヘキサン溶液(l54g、0.607mol)を-68℃で1.5時間かけて滴下し、さらに-70℃で1.5時間撹拌した。次いで、2-メトキシカルボニル-4,4’-ジブロモビフェニル(89.9g、0.242mol)とテトラヒドロフラン(l58g)からなる溶液を-70℃で1時間かけて滴下し、-70℃で2時間撹拌した。次いで、-70℃にてメタノール(60mL)、蒸留水(60mL)を加え撹拌した後、室温まで昇温し、室温にて一晩撹拌した。次いで、反応混合物を濾過し、濾液を濃縮し、ヘプタン(400mL)、水(20mL)を加えて撹拌し、静置して、分液した有機層から水層を除去した。この有機層に飽和食塩水(100mL)を加え撹拌し、静置して分液した有機層から水層を除去した。有機層に硫酸マグネシウム(約30g)を加えて撹拌し、濾過して得られた濾液を濃縮することにより、目的とする下記式で表される化合物2-2を234g得た。
アルゴン気流下、反応容器に、化合物2-2(480g、0.497mol)及びジクロロメタン(124g)を仕込み、均一溶液を調製して、これを-30℃に冷却した。この溶液にボロントリフルオライドジエチルエーテル錯体(BF3・OEt2、71.1g、0.501mol)を30分間かけて滴下した。その後、室温にて一晩撹拌した。次いで、反応混合物を-20℃に冷却し、蒸留水(101g)を加えて1時間撹拌した後、静置して分液した水層を有機層から除去した。次いで、水(500mL)を加え撹拌し、静置して分液した水層を有機層から除去した。得られた有機層に10重量%炭酸水素ナトリウム水溶液(200mL)を加えて撹拌し、静置して分液した水層を有機層から除去した。この有機層を濃縮して溶媒を除去した。次いで、トルエン及びヘプタンを展開溶媒とするシリカゲルカラムクロマトグラフィーにて精製し、濃縮して溶媒を除去した。次いで、酢酸ブチルとメタノールを用いて再結晶することにより、目的とする下記式で表される化合物2-3を232g得た。
アルゴン気流下、2Lの4つ口フラスコに、化合物2-3(95.2g、117mmol)、ビス(ピナコレート)ジボロン(65.7g、259mmol)、1,4-ジオキサン(900mL)、酢酸カリウム(70.5g、718mmol)、1,1’-ビス(ジフェニルホスフィノ)フェロセン(dppf、l.00g、1.80mmol)、1,1’-ビス(ジフェニルホスフィノ)フェロセンジクロロパラジウム(II)塩化メチレン錯体(PdCl2dppf・CH2Cl2、1.53g、1.77mmol)を仕込み、100~102℃で5時間撹拌した。
不活性雰囲気下、下記式で表される化合物3-1(3.1502g、5.94mmol)、下記式で表される化合物3(2.9615g、5.40mmol)、下記式で表される化合物4(0.4431g、0.60mmol)、ジクロロビス(トリフェニルホスフィン)パラジウム(4.3mg)、トリオクチルメチルアンモニウムクロライド(商品名:Aliquat336(アルドリッチ製)、0.79g)、及び、トルエン(60ml)を混合し、105℃に加熱した。
不活性雰囲気下、化合物1(1.5181g、1.98mmol)、化合物3(0.9872g、1.80mmol)、化合物4(0.1477g、0.20mmol)、ジクロロビス(トリフェニルホスフィン)パラジウム(1.4mg)、及び、トルエン(47ml)を混合し、105℃に加熱した。
不活性雰囲気下、下記式で表される化合物5(1.983g、3.98mmol)、下記式で表される化合物6(1.561g、3.40mmol)、下記式で表される化合物7(0.258g、0.60mmol)、ジクロロビス(トリフェニルホスフィン)パラジウム(2.8mg)、及び、トルエン(44ml)を混合し、105℃に加熱した。
<正孔注入層の形成>
ITO陽極が成膜されたガラス基板上に、正孔注入層形成用の組成物を塗布し、スピンコート法によって厚さ60nmの塗膜を得た。この塗膜を設けた基板を200℃で10分間加熱し、塗膜を不溶化させた後、室温まで自然冷却させ、正孔注入層を得た。ここで、正孔注入層形成用の組成物には、スタルクヴイテック(株)より入手可能なPEDOT:PSS水溶液(ポリ(3,4-エチレンジオキシチオフェン)・ポリスチレンスルホン酸、製品名:Baytron)を用いた。
高分子化合物3及びキシレンを、高分子化合物3の濃度が0.7重量%の割合となるように混合し、正孔輸送層形成用の組成物を得た。上記正孔注入層の上に、この正孔輸送層形成用の組成物をスピンコート法により塗布し、厚さ20nmの塗膜を得た。この塗膜を設けた基板を180℃で60分間加熱し、塗膜を不溶化させた後、室温まで自然冷却させ、正孔輸送層を得た。
高分子化合物1及びキシレンを、高分子化合物1の濃度が1.3重量%の割合となるように混合し、発光層形成用の組成物を得た。上記で得られた陽極、正孔注入層、及び、正孔輸送層を有する基板の正孔輸送層の上に、この発光層形成用の組成物を、スピンコート法によって塗布し、厚さ60nmの塗膜を得た。この塗膜を設けた基板を130℃で20分間加熱し、溶媒を蒸発させた後、室温まで自然冷却させて、発光層を得た。
上記で得られた陽極、正孔注入層、正孔輸送層及び発光層を有する基板の発光層の上に、真空蒸着法により、厚さ5nmのバリウム層、続いて厚さ80nmのアルミニウム層を連続的に成膜し、陰極を形成した。
上記で得た積層構造を有する基板を真空蒸着装置より取り出し、窒素雰囲気下で、封止ガラス及び2液混合エポキシ樹脂にて封止して、発光素子1を得た。
発光素子1に電圧を印加したところ、青色発光のエレクトロルミネッセンス(EL)が観測された。発光素子1の最大電流効率は7.3cd/Aであり、最大外部量子収率は6.8%であった。初期輝度3400cd/m2から輝度が半分に達するまでの時間である輝度半減寿命は1.7時間であった。
<発光素子2の作製>
比較例2において、高分子化合物1の代わりに高分子化合物2を用いた以外は、比較例2と同様にして、発光素子2を作製した。
発光素子2に電圧を印加したところ、青色発光のエレクトロルミネッセンス(EL)が観測された。発光素子2の最大電流効率は9.3cd/Aであり、最大外部量子収率は8.3%であった。比較例2と出射フォトン数が同等となるように電圧を印加し、初期輝度3500cd/m2から輝度が半分に達するまでの時間である輝度半減寿命を測定したところ、4.2時間であった。
不活性雰囲気下、化合物3-1(3.863g、7.283mmol)、化合物6(3.177g、6.919mmol)及び化合物7(0.1563g、0.364mmol)、トリオクチルメチルアンモニウムクロライド(商品名:Aliquat336(アルドリッチ製)、3.1mL)、ジクロロビス(トリフェニルホスフィン)パラジウム(4.9mg)、及び、トルエン(50ml)を混合し、105℃に加熱した。
<発光素子3の作製>
比較例2において、高分子化合物3の代わりに高分子化合物4を用いた以外は、比較例2と同様にして、発光素子3を作製した。
発光素子3に電圧を印加したところ、青色発光のエレクトロルミネッセンス(EL)が観測された。発光素子3の最大電流効率は7.4cd/Aであり、最大外部量子収率は5.2%であった。初期輝度4500cd/m2から輝度が半分に達するまでの時間である輝度半減寿命を測定したところ、6.6時間であった。
<発光素子4の作製>
比較例2において、高分子化合物1の代わりに高分子化合物2を用い、高分子化合物3の代わりに高分子化合物4を用いた以外は、比較例2と同様にして、発光素子4を作製した。
発光素子4に電圧を印加したところ、青色発光のエレクトロルミネッセンス(EL)が観測された。発光素子4の最大電流効率は8.2cd/Aであり、最大外部量子収率は5.8%であった。比較例3と出射フォトン数が同等となるように電圧を印加し、初期輝度4500cd/m2から輝度が半分に達するまでの時間である輝度半減寿命を測定したところ、52.6時間であった。
不活性雰囲気下、化合物2(2.6798g、2.95mmol)、化合物3(1.4808g、2.70mmol)、化合物4(0.2215g、0.30mmol)、ジクロロビス(トリフェニルホスフィン)パラジウム(2.16mg)、及び、トルエン(70ml)を混合し、105℃に加熱した。
<発光素子5の作製>
比較例2において、正孔注入層の厚さを60nmの代わりに50nmとし、高分子化合物3の代わりに高分子化合物4を用いた以外は、比較例2と同様にして、発光素子5を作製した。
発光素子5に電圧を印加したところ、青色発光のエレクトロルミネッセンス(EL)が観測された。発光素子5の最大電流効率は6.5cd/Aであり、最大外部量子収率は4.6%であった。初期輝度4030cd/m2から輝度が半分に達するまでの時間である輝度半減寿命を測定したところ、8.8時間であった。
<発光素子6の作製>
比較例2において、正孔注入層の厚さを60nmの代わりに50nmとし、高分子化合物1の代わりに高分子化合物5を用い、高分子化合物3の代わりに高分子化合物4を用いた以外は、比較例2と同様にして、発光素子6を作製した。
発光素子6に電圧を印加したところ、青色発光のエレクトロルミネッセンス(EL)が観測された。発光素子6の最大電流効率は8.4cd/Aであり、最大外部量子収率は6.3%であった。比較例4と出射フォトン数が同等となるように電圧を印加し、初期輝度3755cd/m2から輝度が半分に達するまでの時間である輝度半減寿命を測定したところ、21.1時間であった。
不活性雰囲気下、下記式で表される化合物3-2(1.9065g、2.97mmol)、化合物3(1.4808g、2.70mmol)、下記式で表される化合物8(0.1420g、0.30mmol)、ジクロロビス(トリフェニルホスフィン)パラジウム(2.11mg)、及び、トルエン(71ml)を混合し、105℃に加熱した。
不活性雰囲気下、化合物1(1.5181g、1.98mmol)、化合物3(0.9872g、1.80mmol)、化合物8(0.0946g、0.20mmol)、ジクロロビス(トリフェニルホスフィン)パラジウム(1.3mg)、及び、トルエン(47ml)を混合し、105℃に加熱した。
<発光素子7の作製>
比較例2において、正孔注入層の厚さを60nmの代わりに50nmとし、高分子化合物1の代わりに高分子化合物6を用い、高分子化合物3の代わりに高分子化合物4を用いた以外は、比較例2と同様にして、発光素子7を作製した。
発光素子7に電圧を印加したところ、青色発光のエレクトロルミネッセンス(EL)が観測された。発光素子7の最大電流効率は6.4cd/Aであり、最大外部量子収率は4.8%であった。初期輝度3800cd/m2から輝度が半分に達するまでの時間である輝度半減寿命を測定したところ、9.3時間であった。
<発光素子8の作製>
比較例2において、正孔注入層の厚さを60nmの代わりに50nmとし、高分子化合物1の代わりに高分子化合物7を用い、高分子化合物3の代わりに高分子化合物4を用いた以外は、比較例2と同様にして、発光素子8を作製した。
発光素子8に電圧を印加したところ、青色発光のエレクトロルミネッセンス(EL)が観測された。発光素子8の最大電流効率は11.3cd/Aであり、最大外部量子収率は7.3%であった。比較例6と出射フォトン数が同等となるように電圧を印加し、初期輝度4455cd/m2から輝度が半分に達するまでの時間である輝度半減寿命を測定したところ、72.0時間であった。
<発光素子9の作製>
比較例2において、高分子化合物1の代わりに高分子化合物7を用い、高分子化合物3の代わりに高分子化合物4を用いた以外は、比較例2と同様にして、発光素子9を作製した。
発光素子9に電圧を印加したところ、青色発光のエレクトロルミネッセンス(EL)が観測された。発光素子9の最大電流効率は10.9cd/Aであり、最大外部量子収率は7.0%であった。初期輝度5810cd/m2から輝度が半分に達するまでの時間である輝度半減寿命を測定したところ、38.1時間であった。
不活性雰囲気下、化合物3-2(1.9181g、2.99mmol)、化合物3(0.4112g、0.75mmol)、下記式で表される化合物9(1.6395g、1.80mmol)、下記式で表される化合物10(0.2422g、0.46mmol)、ジクロロビス(トリフェニルホスフィン)パラジウム(2.1mg)、及び、トルエン(70ml)を混合し、105℃に加熱した。
不活性雰囲気下、化合物2(2.6882g、2.96mmol)、化合物3(0.4245g、0.75mmol)、化合物9(1.6396g、1.80mmol)、化合物10(0.2377g、0.45mmol)、ジクロロビス(トリフェニルホスフィン)パラジウム(2.1mg)、及び、トルエン(62ml)を混合し、105℃に加熱した。
不活性雰囲気下、化合物2(7.2119g、7.95mmol)、化合物3(1.0970g、2.00mmol)、下記式で表される化合物11(3.5455g、4.80mmol)、化合物10(0.6340g、1.20mmol)、ジクロロビス(トリフェニルホスフィン)パラジウム(5.7mg)、及び、トルエン(190ml)を混合し、105℃に加熱した。
<発光素子10の作製>
比較例2において、正孔注入層の厚さを60nmの代わりに50nmとし、高分子化合物1の代わりに高分子化合物2を用い、高分子化合物3の代わりに高分子化合物8を用いた以外は、比較例2と同様にして、発光素子10を作製した。
発光素子10に電圧を印加したところ、青色発光のエレクトロルミネッセンス(EL)が観測された。発光素子10の最大電流効率は6.4cd/Aであり、最大外部量子収率は5.2%であった。初期輝度3460cd/m2から輝度が55%に達するまでの時間である輝度寿命を測定したところ、72.5時間であった。
<発光素子11の作製>
比較例2において、正孔注入層の厚さを60nmの代わりに50nmとし、高分子化合物1の代わりに高分子化合物2を用い、高分子化合物3の代わりに高分子化合物9を用いた以外は、比較例2と同様にして、発光素子11を作製した。
発光素子11に電圧を印加したところ、青色発光のエレクトロルミネッセンス(EL)が観測された。発光素子11の最大電流効率は6.1cd/Aであり、最大外部量子収率は5.2%であった。実施例11と出射フォトン数が同等となるように電圧を印加し、初期輝度3320cd/m2から輝度が55%に達するまでの時間である輝度寿命を測定したところ、86.5時間であった。
<発光素子12の作製>
比較例2において、正孔注入層の厚さを60nmの代わりに50nmとし、高分子化合物1の代わりに高分子化合物2を用い、高分子化合物3の代わりに高分子化合物10を用いた以外は、比較例2と同様にして、発光素子12を作製した。
発光素子12に電圧を印加したところ、青色発光のエレクトロルミネッセンス(EL)が観測された。発光素子12の最大電流効率は6.4cd/Aであり、最大外部量子収率は5.5%であった。実施例11と出射フォトン数が同等となるように電圧を印加し、初期輝度3290cd/m2から輝度が55%に達するまでの時間である輝度寿命を測定したところ、148.2時間であった。
<正孔注入層の形成>
ITO陽極が成膜されたガラス基板上に、正孔注入層形成用の組成物を塗布し、スピンコート法によって厚さ50nmの塗膜を得た。この塗膜を設けた基板を200℃で10分間加熱し、塗膜を不溶化させた後、室温まで自然冷却させ、正孔注入層を得た。ここで、正孔注入層形成用の組成物には、スタルクヴイテック(株)より入手可能なPEDOT:PSS水溶液(ポリ(3,4-エチレンジオキシチオフェン)・ポリスチレンスルホン酸、製品名:Baytron)を用いた。
高分子化合物9及びキシレンを、高分子化合物9の濃度が0.7重量%の割合となるように混合し、正孔輸送層形成用の組成物を得た。上記正孔注入層の上に、この正孔輸送層形成用の組成物をスピンコート法により塗布し、厚さ20nmの塗膜を得た。この塗膜を設けた基板を180℃で60分間加熱し、塗膜を不溶化させた後、室温まで自然冷却させ、正孔輸送層を得た。
高分子化合物1、下記式で表される化合物COM-3及びキシレンを、高分子化合物1と化合物COM-3の合計の濃度が1.3重量%の割合となるように混合し、発光層形成用の組成物を得た。このとき、高分子化合物1と化合物COM-3の重量比が95:5となるように混合した。上記で得られた陽極、正孔注入層、及び、正孔輸送層を有する基板の正孔輸送層の上に、この発光層形成用の組成物を、スピンコート法により塗布して厚さ80nmの塗膜を得た。この塗膜を設けた基板を130℃で20分間加熱し、溶媒を蒸発させた後、室温まで自然冷却させ、発光層を得た。
上記で得た、陽極、正孔注入層、正孔輸送層及び発光層を有する基板の発光層の上に、真空蒸着法により、厚さ5nmのバリウム層、続いて厚さ80nmのアルミニウム層を連続的に成膜し、陰極を形成した。
上記で得た積層構造を有する基板を真空蒸着装置から取り出し、窒素雰囲気下で、封止ガラス及び2液混合エポキシ樹脂にて封止して、発光素子13を得た。
発光素子13に電圧を印加したところ、赤色発光のエレクトロルミネッセンス(EL)が観測された。発光素子13の最大電流効率は7.9cd/Aであり、最大外部量子収率は9.4%であった。初期輝度12000cd/m2から輝度が半分に達するまでの時間である輝度半減寿命は13.4時間であった。
<発光素子14の作製>
実施例14において、高分子化合物1の代わりに高分子化合物5を用いた以外は、実施例14と同様にして、発光素子14を作製した。
発光素子14に電圧を印加したところ、赤色発光のエレクトロルミネッセンス(EL)が観測された。発光素子14の最大電流効率は9.8cd/Aであり、最大外部量子収率は11.7%であった。実施例14と出射フォトン数が同等となるように電圧を印加し、初期輝度12000cd/m2から輝度が半分に達するまでの時間である輝度半減寿命は41.9時間であった。
Claims (20)
- 式(1)で表される構成単位を含む高分子化合物。
- R1Aが、1級又は2級の非置換のアルキル基である請求項1に記載の高分子化合物。
- R2Aが、1級又は2級の非置換のアルキル基である請求項2に記載の高分子化合物。
- R1AとR1Bとの組み合わせ、及び、R2AとR2Bとの組み合わせのうちの少なくとも一方の組み合わせが、互いに異なる基同士の組み合わせである、請求項1~3のいずれか一項に記載の高分子化合物。
- a及びbが、それぞれ独立に0又は1を表し、R3及びR4が、それぞれ独立に非置換のアルキル基を表す、請求項1~5のいずれか一項に記載の高分子化合物。
- さらに、式(6)で表される構成単位及び式(7)で表される構成単位からなる群から選ばれる1種以上の構成単位を含む、請求項1~8のいずれか一項に記載の高分子化合物。
式(7)中、Ar2、Ar3及びAr4は、それぞれ独立に、非置換若しくは置換のアリーレン基、非置換若しくは置換の2価の芳香族複素環基、又は、2個の芳香環が単結合で連結した非置換若しくは置換の2価の基を表す。RA及びRBは、それぞれ独立に、水素原子、非置換若しくは置換のアルキル基、非置換若しくは置換のアリール基、又は、非置換若しくは置換の1価の複素環基を表す。eは0又は1である。] - 式(6)で表される構成単位が、式(8)で表される構成単位、式(9)で表される構成単位、式(10)で表される構成単位又は式(11)で表される構成単位である、請求項9に記載の高分子化合物。
