Abstract
Se describen metodos para la produccion de insulina en plantas. En una modalidad, la presente invencion proporciona un metodo para la expresion de insulina en plantas comprendiendo: (a) proporcionar una construccion de acido nucleico quimerico comprendiendo en la direccion de transcripcion 5' a 3' como componentes operablemente enlazados: (i) una secuencia de acidos nucleicos capaz de controlar la expresion en celulas de semilla vegetales; y (ii) una secuencia de acidos nucleicos codificando un polipeptido de insulina; (b) introducir la construccion de acido nucleico quimerico en una celula vegetal, y (c) desarrollar la celula vegetal en una planta madura capaz de producir la semilla en donde la semilla expresa insulina.
