Description
本出願は、2006年1月18日出願の、「Method and System for Charging an Electronic Device via a Wireless Link」と題された、米国仮特許出願第60/760,064号に基づく優先権を主張する、2006年4月21日に出願された本出願と同題の米国実用新案出願第11/408,793号に基づく優先権を主張するものであり、前述のそれぞれは、参照することによりその全体が本願に組み込まれる。
一態様において、無線周波数リンクを介して充電式デバイスに電力を提供するように構成されるシステムを提供する。当該システムは、充電式デバイスに電力供給または充電するための、実質的に変調されていない信号を生成するように構成される送信機を備える。当該システムは、送信機から実質的に変調されていない信号を受信し、実質的に変調されていない無線周波数(RF)信号を充電式デバイスに放射するように構成される送信アンテナをさらに備える。
以下の詳細な説明は、本発明の一部の特定の実施形態を対象とするものである。しかしながら、本発明は、特許請求の範囲によって定義および網羅されているように、多数の異なる手法で具現化され得る。本説明においては図面を参照し、全図面中、類似の部分には類似の数字が指定されている。
14 電子デバイス
Claims (13)
- 無線周波数リンクを介して充電式デバイスに電力を提供するように構成されるシステムであって、
第1のアンテナを介して、前記充電式デバイスに電力供給または充電するための第1の信号を送信するように構成される第1の送信機と、
第2のアンテナを介して、前記充電式デバイスに電力供給または充電するための第2の信号を送信するように構成される第2の送信機と、を備え、
前記第1および第2の信号の組み合わせによって、前記充電式デバイスに電力供給または充電し、
前記第1および第2の信号間の位相差は、前記充電式デバイスによって送られたフィードバック信号に基づき調整され、前記フィードバック信号は、前記第1および第2の信号の前記組み合わせの前記電力を示し、
第1の送信アンテナおよび第2の送信アンテナの前記位相差は、最大電力伝送を実現するために、前記フィードバック信号を使用して調整され、
前記最大電力伝送は、前記充電式デバイスの位置における前記第1の信号と前記第2の信号との前記位相差が0度である時に実現され、
前記フィードバック信号は、コントローラに与えられ、前記コントローラは、前記第1の信号および前記第2の信号間の前記位相差が、前記充電式デバイスの充電受信アンテナの位置において0度となるように、前記第1および第2の信号間の前記位相差を調整するように構成される、システム。 - 前記第1および第2のアンテナのそれぞれは、指向性アンテナを含む、請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 各指向性アンテナのビーム幅は、0.05乃至20度である、請求項2に記載のシステム。
- 前記第1および第2の信号のそれぞれは、変調されていないRF信号から成る、請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 前記第1および第2の信号のそれぞれは、正弦波RF信号から成る、請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 前記第1および第2の信号のそれぞれは、RF搬送波信号から成る、請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 前記充電式デバイスは、メディアプレーヤーと、携帯情報端末と、携帯型コンピュータと、モバイルまたはセルラー式電話(携帯電話)と、時計と、電子ディスプレイと、の携帯型デバイスのうちの1つを含む、請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 前記第1および第2の信号の前記組み合わせの振幅は、前記第1および第2の信号のうちの少なくとも1つの振幅よりも高い、請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 無線周波数リンクを介して充電式デバイスに電力を提供する方法であって、
第1のアンテナを介して、充電式デバイスに第1の信号を送信するステップと、
第2のアンテナを介して、前記充電式デバイスに第2の信号を送信するステップと、
前記第1および第2の信号の組み合わせによって送達される電力により、前記充電式デバイスに電力供給または充電するステップと、を含み、
フィードバック信号は、前記充電式デバイスから送られ、前記第1および第2の信号の前記組み合わせの前記電力を示し、
前記第1のアンテナおよび前記第2のアンテナの位相差は、最大電力伝送を実現するために、前記フィードバック信号を使用して調整され、
前記最大電力伝送は、前記充電式デバイスの位置における前記第1の信号と前記第2の信号との前記位相差が0度である時に実現され、
前記フィードバック信号は、コントローラに与えられ、前記コントローラは、前記第1の信号および前記第2の信号間の前記位相差が、前記充電式デバイスの充電受信アンテナの位置において0度となるように、前記第1および第2の信号間の前記位相差を調整するように構成される、方法。 - 前記充電式デバイスに充電するために、前記第1および第2の信号を組み合わせるステップをさらに含む、請求項9に記載の方法。
- 前記第1および第2のアンテナのそれぞれは、指向性アンテナを含む、請求項9に記載の方法。
- 前記第1および第2の信号のそれぞれは、正弦波から成る、請求項9に記載の方法。
- 前記第1および第2の信号のそれぞれは、変調されていない信号から成る、請求項9に記載の方法。
