無線周波数受信パスと、
無線周波数送信パスと、そして、
インストールに際して、基地局が
ワイヤレス通信ネットワーク内で動作するように無線周波数受信パスを構成し、
所定の複数のネットワーク搬送波の各々における受信信号強度を監視し、
前記受信信号強度に基づいて、前記所定の複数のネットワーク搬送波のうちの第1のネットワーク搬送波を、動作する下りリンク搬送波として選択し、そして、
前記所定の複数のネットワーク搬送波のうち前記選択された第1のネットワーク搬送波の受信信号強度に基づいて、前記無線周波数送信パスのための初期出力レベルを選択し、そして、
前記基地局がさらに、前記インストールに続いて、前記動作する下りリンク搬送波と対応する動作する上りリンク搬送波とを用いて、動作する基地局が提供される。
セルラーワイヤレス通信プロトコルによってワイヤレス通信装置に接続するための、無線トランシーバ回路機構と、そして、

基地局が、前記セルラーワイヤレス通信プロトコルによって前記ワイヤレス通信装置との通信を提供するために、UMA標準プロトコルを用いて前記IPネットワーク上でUMAネットワーク制御装置と通信する基地局が提供される。
各々がセルラーワイヤレス通信ネットワークへのそれぞれの接続を有し、各々がIPネットワークへのそれぞれの接続を有するような複数の基地局を備え、
前記ワイヤレス通信ネットワーク内でアクティブである移動通信装置が、前記諸基地局のうちの1つから前記諸基地局のうちの別の基地局へのハンドオーバを、前記セルラーネットワークの介在を必要とせずに実行できる通信ネットワークが提供される。
ウェブサーバ、DHCPサーバ、及びOSGiサーバを含む、セッション制御、
GSM/UMTS Access Stratum(NAS)機能、
GERAN Access Stratum機能、
UMAクライアント、そして、
SIPクライアント
が含まれる。
ソフトウェアの健全性をチェックする監視タイマと、
システム内のデバッグ用のJTAG及びシリアルポートと、

MNOコアネットワーク上の基地局のための登録、呼制御、トラヒックフローの方針の実装と、
登録、呼制御、トラヒックフローのためのUMA及びSIPクライアントの制御と、
ネットワークベースの管理システムを使った情報の流れの制御と、
移動登録と呼のハンドオフのための基地局無線アクセスネットワーク(RAN:Radio Access Network)リソースの管理と、
MNO及びエンドユーザの回線開設手順の制御及び実行と、
基地局のパケットコアの方針の管理と、そして、
Javaベースのアプリケーションのネットワークリソースを求める要求の処理と
が含まれる。
・発見と登録の手順
適切な移動局がGSM/UMTS PLMN選択及びセル選択手順を通じて基地局110を選択する場合に、図11に示すUMAの発見と登録の手順が行われる。また、移動局は、UMA転入手順にマッピングされる、PLMN再選択を実行していてもよい。図11に示すシーケンスは、UE122がGERAN上でアクティブな音声セッション又はパケットセッションを有さないと想定する(即ち、アイドルモードにある)。UE122は、GSM又はUMTSネットワークに接続されるIMSI及び/又はGPRSであってもよい。発見及び登録の手順は、GSMもUMTSも同じである。
・登録解除の手順
登録解除の手順を図12に図解する。「IMSI分離(IMSI DETACH)」1201が、移動局から発信され、基地局110へ送信されてもよく、その場合、「IMSI分離」1201は「URR登録解除(URR DEREGISTER)」メッセージ1203にマッピングされてUNCへ送信される。また「URR登録解除」メッセージ1205は、UNCから発信されて基地局110へ送信されてもよく、その場合、「URR登録解除」メッセージ1205は、「IMSI分離」1207にマッピングされ、基地局から移動局122へ送信される。登録解除の手順は、GSMもUMTSも同じである。
・移動局から発信される音声呼の手順(Mobile Originated Speech Call Procedure)
図13に示す移動局から発信される音声呼の手順は、基地局とMS122の間のGSM標準のシグナリングを実装するが、それは、UMA定義されたシグナリングにマッピングされる。メッセージの内容は、UMA及び3GPP仕様に定義された通りであり、従って、本書では説明しない。手順は、GSMもUMTSも同じである。
・移動局に着信する音声呼の手順(Mobile Terminated Speech Call Procedure)
図14に図解する移動局に着信する音声呼の手順は、基地局とMS/UE122の間のGSM標準のシグナリングを実装するが、それは、UMA定義されたシグナリングにマッピングされる。メッセージの内容は、UMA及び3GPP仕様に定義された通りであり、従って、本書では説明しない。手順は、GSMもUMTSも同じである。

・GERANからUMANへのハンドオーバの手順

アイドルモードでは、MSは自分のHPLMN上でサービスを受けることを周期的に試みる。このため、SIMの中には、6分から8時間までの範囲で(6分刻みで)T分の値が記憶されてもよい。従って、HPLMNをMNOのZoneGateネットワーク識別子にすることによって、マクロネットワークから基地局110ネットワークへの転入は、ホーム基地局110の通信範囲にユーザが進入すると最小で6分以内に、自動的に行われるであろう。転出は、ユーザがホーム基地局の通信範囲を放れようとするときに、自動的に行われなければならない。正確な転出動作を保証するため、MNOのPLMNネットワーク識別子は、SIMにおいては、HPLMNに次ぐ最高の優先順位のPLMNであるべきである。
Claims (22)
- セルラー通信システムで用いられる基地局であって、
無線周波数受信パスと、
無線周波数送信パスと、そして、
ネットワークへの接続と、を備え、
インストールに際して、前記基地局は、
ワイヤレス通信ネットワークにおいて動作する前記無線周波数受信パスを設定し、
所定の複数のネットワーク搬送波の各々における受信信号強度を監視し、
前記受信信号強度に基づいて、前記所定の複数のネットワーク搬送波のうちの第1のネットワーク搬送波を、動作する下りリンク搬送波として選択し、
前記所定の複数のネットワーク搬送波のうち前記選択された第1のネットワーク搬送波の受信信号強度に基づいて、前記無線周波数送信パスのための初期出力レベルを選択し、
周囲の基地局の同報チャネルから抽出されたシステム情報に基づき、前記基地局に接続する移動局によって監視されるべき周囲の基地局を特定する隣接セルリストを生成するように構成され、
前記基地局がさらに、前記インストールに続いて、前記動作する下りリンク搬送波と対応する動作する上りリンク搬送波とを用いて動作する基地局。 - 前記基地局が、

前記受信信号強度に基づいて、前記第2のワイヤレス通信ネットワークの前記所定の複数のネットワーク搬送波のうちの第1のネットワーク搬送波を前記第2のワイヤレス通信ネットワークの動作する下りリンク搬送波として選択し、
前記第2のワイヤレス通信ネットワークの前記所定の複数のネットワーク搬送波のうち前記選択された第1のネットワーク搬送波の受信信号強度に基づいて、前記無線周波数送信パスのための第2の初期出力レベルを選択し、そして、
前記基地局が、
前記インストールに続いて、前記第1のワイヤレス通信ネットワークの前記動作する下りリンク搬送波と前記第1のワイヤレス通信ネットワークの対応する動作する上りリンク搬送波とを用いて、そして、前記第2のワイヤレス通信ネットワークの前記動作する下りリンク搬送波と前記第2のワイヤレス通信ネットワークの対応する動作する上りリンク搬送波とを用いて動作する請求項1に記載の基地局。 - 前記第1のワイヤレス通信ネットワークがGSMネットワークである請求項2に記載の基地局。
