Claims (13)
- 強化積層ガラス構造を作製するためのプロセスにおいて、
コアガラス板を形成するため、第1の熱膨張係数(CTE)を有するコアガラスをドロー成形する工程、
クラッドガラス板を形成するため、第1のCTEより低い第2のCTEを有するイオン交換可能なクラッドガラスをドロー成形する工程、
積層ガラス板を形成するため、前記コアガラス及び前記クラッドガラスの内の少なくとも一方の軟化点以上の温度において前記コアガラス板を前記クラッドガラス板に積層する工程、
前記積層ガラス板を冷却して、前記コアガラス板を引張応力の状態におき、前記クラッドガラス板を圧縮応力の状態におく工程、及び
前記積層する工程及び前記冷却する工程によって前記クラッドガラスに生成された前記圧縮応力に加えて、前記クラッドガラスの外表面領域に圧縮応力の層を形成するため、前記積層ガラス板にイオン交換プロセスを実施する工程、
を含むことを特徴とするプロセス。 - 前記コアガラスの前記CTEより少なくとも10×10−7/℃は低いCTEを前記クラッドガラスが有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載のプロセス。
- 前記クラッドガラスをドロー成形する前記工程が、2枚のイオン交換可能なクラッドガラス板をドロー成形する工程を含み、
前記積層する工程が、前記クラッドガラス板の第1を前記コアガラスの第1の表面に積層する工程及び前記クラッドガラス板の第2を前記コアガラス板の第2の表面に積層する工程を含む、
ことを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載のプロセス。 - 前記積層ガラス板が3mmをこえない総厚を有し、前記コアガラスが2mmまでの厚さを有することを特徴とする請求項1から3のいずれか1項に記載のプロセス。
- 前記コアガラスが、イオン交換可能であって、大半径陽イオンを含有し、
前記コアガラス内の前記大半径陽イオンを前記クラッドガラス内のより小さいイオンと交換して、前記クラッドガラスの内表面領域内に高められた圧縮応力の領域を形成する工程、
をさらに含み、
前記大半径陽イオンを前記クラッドガラス内のより小さいイオンと交換する前記工程が、前記積層する工程、前記イオン交換工程及び別途の加熱工程のうちの1つの間に実施される、
ことを特徴とする請求項1から4のいずれか1項に記載のプロセス。 - 前記クラッドガラスを成形する前記ドロー工程が、中空クラッドガラス管を形成するため、環形オリフィスを用いて前記クラッドガラスを形成する工程を含み、
前記コアガラスを成形する前記ドロー工程が、コアガラス円柱を形成するため、オリフィスを用いて前記コアガラスを形成する工程を含む、
ことを特徴とする請求項1から4のいずれか1項に記載のプロセス。 - 前記クラッドガラスを成形する前記ドロー工程が、第1の環形オリフィスを用いて第1のクラッドガラス管を形成する工程及び第2の環形オリフィスを用いて第2のクラッドガラス管を形成する工程を含み、
前記コアガラスを成形する前記ドロー工程が、第3の環形オリフィスを用いてコアガラス管を形成する工程を含み、
前記第1の環形オリフィス及び前記第1のクラッドガラス管は前記第3の環形オリフィス及び前記コアガラス管の外径に等しい内径を有し、前記第2の環形オリフィス及び前記第2のクラッドガラス管は前記第3の環形オリフィス及び前記コアガラス管の内径に等しい外径を有し、
前記積層する工程が、前記第1のクラッドガラス管を前記コアガラス管の外周表面に積層し、前記第2のクラッドガラス管を前記コアガラス管の内周表面に積層する、
ことを特徴とする請求項1から4のいずれか1項に記載のプロセス。 - 強化積層ガラス構造において、
第1の熱膨張係数(CTE)を有するコアガラス層、及び
前記コアガラス層に積層された、該コアガラス層の前記CTEより低いCTEを有する少なくとも1つのイオン交換可能なクラッドガラス層、
を有し、
前記クラッドガラス層が圧縮応力の状態にあり、前記クラッドガラス層の外表面領域が前記クラッドガラス層の残余領域に比較して高められた圧縮応力の状態にある、
ことを特徴とする積層ガラス構造。 - 前記コアガラス層の前記CTEより少なくとも10×10−7/℃は低いCTEを前記クラッドガラス層が有することを特徴とする請求項8に記載の積層ガラス構造。
- 前記少なくとも1つのイオン交換可能なクラッドガラス層が前記コアガラス層の前記CTEより低いCTEを有する2つのイオン交換可能なクラッドガラス層を含み、前記クラッドガラス層の第1が前記コアガラス層の第1の表面に積層され、前記クラッドガラス層の第2が前記コアガラス層の第2の表面に積層されていることを特徴とする請求項8または9に記載の積層ガラス構造。
- 前記積層ガラス構造が3mmをこえない総厚を有し、前記コアガラス層が2mmまでの厚さを有することを特徴とする請求項8から10のいずれか1項に記載の積層ガラス構造。
- 前記コアガラス層が中実コアガラス円柱を含み、
前記クラッドガラス層が前記コアガラス円柱の周面に積層された中空クラッドガラス管を含む、
ことを特徴とする請求項8または9に記載の積層ガラス構造。 - 前記コアガラス層が内周面及び外周面を有する中空コアガラス管を含み、
前記少なくとも1つのイオン交換可能なクラッドガラス層が、前記コアガラス管の前記外周面に積層された第1の中空クラッドガラス管及び前記コアガラス管の前記内周面に積層された第2の中空クラッドガラス管を含む、
ことを特徴とする請求項8または9に記載の積層ガラス構造。
