クラッドガラスはコアガラスの少なくとも一部を囲み、コアガラスはクラッドガラスの熱膨張係数より大きい熱膨張係数を有する。溶融クラッドガラスは、約50モル%から約70モル%のSiO2、約5モル%から約12モル%Al2O3、約5モル%から約35モル%のB2O3、1モル%≦Li2O+Na2O+K2O≦15モル%として、Li2O、Na2O及びK2Oの内の少なくとも1つ、約5モル%までのMgO、約5モル%までのCaO、及び約2モル%までのSrOを含有する。

Claims (12)
- 62モル%から68モル%のSiO2、6モル%から10モル%のAl2O3、5モル%から35モル%のB2O3、1モル%≦Li2O+Na2O+K2O≦15モル%として、Li2O、Na2O及びK2Oの内の少なくとも1つ、2.67モル%から5モル%までのMgO、1.35モル%から5モル%までのCaO、及び0.01モル%から2モル%までのSrOを含み、
4モル%≦MgO+CaO+SrO+Li2O+Na2O+K2O≦Al2O3+4モル%である、ガラスであって
前記ガラスがイオン交換されており、少なくとも30Nのヌープスクラッチ発生閾値を有するガラス。 - 4モル%≦B2O3−(MgO+CaO+SrO+Li2O+Na2O+K2O−Al2O3)≦35モル%であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のガラス。
- 75×10−7/℃より小さい熱膨張係数を有することを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載のガラス。
- SnO2、CeO2、As2O3、Sb2O3、Cl−、F−の群から選択される少なくとも1つの清澄剤を含有することを特徴とする請求項1から3のいずれか1項に記載のガラス。
- 6モル%から20モル%のB2O3、6モル%≦Li2O+Na2O+K2O≦13モル%として、Li2O、Na2O及びK2Oの内の少なくとも1つ、2.67モル%から4モル%までのMgO、1.35モル%から4モル%までのCaO、及び0.01モル%から1モル%までのSrOを含有することを特徴とする請求項1から4のいずれか1項に記載のガラス。
- 4モル%≦B2O3−(MgO+CaO+SrO+Li2O+Na2O+K2O−Al2O3)≦20モル%であることを特徴とする請求項5に記載のガラス。
- P2O5を含まないことを特徴とする請求項1から6のいずれか1項に記載のガラス。
- 請求項1から7のいずれか1項に記載のガラスからなるクラッド層と、前記クラッド層の熱膨張係数より大きな熱膨張係数を有するコアガラスとを有してなり、
前記クラッド層が少なくとも30MPaの圧縮応力下にある、合わせガラス。 - コアガラス及びクラッドガラスを有する合わせガラスを作製する方法において、前記方法が、
a.溶融コアガラスを提供する工程、
b.前記溶融コアガラスをフュージョンドローして、第1の熱膨張係数を有する前記コアガラスを形成する工程、
c.62モル%から68モル%のSiO2、6モル%から10モル%のAl2O3、5モル%から35モル%のB2O3、1モル%≦Li2O+Na2O+K2O≦15モル%として、Li2O、Na2O及びK2Oの内の少なくとも1つ、2.67モル%から5モル%までのMgO、1.35モル%から5モル%までのCaO、及び0.01モル%から2モル%までのSrOを含み、4モル%≦MgO+CaO+SrO+Li2O+Na2O+K2O≦Al2O3+4モル%である、溶融クラッドガラスを提供する工程、並びに
d.前記溶融クラッドガラスをフュージョンドローして、前記クラッドガラスを形成する工程であって、前記クラッドガラスは前記コアガラスを囲みかつ第2の熱膨張係数を有し、前記第1の熱膨張係数が前記第2の熱膨張係数より大きく、前記クラッドガラスが少なくとも30MPaの圧縮応力下にあるものである工程、
を有してなる、方法。 - 前記クラッドガラスが75×10−7/℃より小さい熱膨張係数を有する請求項9に記載の方法。
- 前記クラッドガラスが、62モル%から68モル%のSiO2、6モル%より多く10モル%までのAl2O3、6モル%から20モル%のB2O3、2.67モル%から4モル%までのMgO、1.35モル%から4モル%までのCaO、及び0.01モル%から1モル%までのSrO、及び、必要に応じて、少なくとも1つの清澄剤を含有し、1モル%≦Li2O+Na2O+K2O≦13モル%であることを特徴とする請求項9または10に記載の方法。
- 前記コアガラスがアルカリアルミノケイ酸ガラスであることを特徴とする請求項9から11のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
