Abstract
【解決手段】偏光子の少なくとも一方の面に、接着剤層を介して透明保護フィルムが設けられている偏光板であって、接着剤層は、N−ヒドロキシエチルアクリルアミド、N−メチロールアクリルアミド、N−イソプロピルアクリルアミド、およびN−アクリロイルモルホリンから選ばれる少なくとも1種のN−置換アミド系モノマーからなる(メタ)アクリロイル基を有する化合物に係る硬化性成分を含有する活性エネルギー線硬化型接着剤により形成されており、接着剤層のTgが、60℃以上であり、かつ、接着剤層の厚みが、0.01〜7μmであることを特徴とする偏光板。

Description
接着剤層は、少なくとも1種の硬化性成分を含有する活性エネルギー線硬化型接着剤により形成されており、
接着剤層のTgが、60℃以上であり、かつ、
接着剤層の厚みが、0.01〜7μmであることを特徴とする偏光板、に関する。
ガラス転移点温度示差走査熱量計(DSC)を用いて、10℃/分の昇温速度で測定した。サンプルは試料5mgをアルミニウム押え蓋型容器に入れ、クリンプして用いた。
アプリケーターを用いて、離型フィルムに、各例で用いた接着剤を塗工し、その上に、別の離型フィルムを貼り合わせた後、各例と同様の条件で電子線を照射して、接着剤を硬化させて接着剤層を形成した。得られた接着剤層の両側から離型フィルムを剥がし、接着剤層から約200mgを取り出し、これを秤量して重量(W1)を求めた。次いでこれを微孔性テトラフルオロエチレン膜(膜重量:W2)に包んで紐で縛り、約50mlのトルエン中に4日間浸漬したのち、可溶分を抽出した。これを、110℃で、1時間オーブンで乾燥し、全体の重量(W3)を測定した。これらの測定値から、下記の式にしたがって、粘着剤層のゲル分率(重量%)を求めた。
ゲル分率(重量%)=((W3−W2)/W1)×100
平均重合度2400、ケン化度99.9モル%、厚さ75μmのポリビニルアルコールフィルムを、30℃の温水中に60秒間浸漬して膨潤させた。次いで、0.3重量%(重量比:ヨウ素/ヨウ化カリウム=0.5/8)の30℃のヨウ素溶液中で1分間染色しながら、3.5倍まで延伸した。その後、65℃の4重量%のホウ酸エステル水溶液中に0.5分間浸漬しながら総合延伸倍率が6倍まで延伸した。延伸後、70℃のオーブンで3分間乾燥を行い、厚さ26μmの偏光子を得た。偏光子の水分率は13.5重量%であった。
ラクトン化ポリメチルメタクリレートフィルム(LMMA,ラクトン化率20%,厚み30μm,Re=0nm,Rth=0nm)を用いた。
位相差値の測定は、平行ニコル回転法を原理とする位相差計〔王子計測機器(株)製,製品名「KOBRA21−ADH」〕を用いて、波長590nmの値について測定した、nx、ny、nzの値と、フィルム厚み(d)から、正面位相差Re、厚み方向位相差Rth、Nzを求めた。[ただし、フィルムの遅相軸方向、進相軸方向及び厚さ方向の屈折率をそれぞれnx、ny、nzとし、d(nm)はフィルムの厚みとする。遅相軸方向は、フィルム面内の屈折率の最大となる方向とする。]。
(接着剤:硬化性成分)
接着剤として、N−アクリロイルモルホリンを用いた。
上記透明保護フィルムの片側に、上記接着剤を、マイクログラビアコーター(グラビアロール:#180,回転速度140%/ライン速)を用いて、厚さ5μmになるように塗工した接着剤付き透明保護フィルムとした。次いで、これを、上記偏光子の両面より、前記接着剤付き透明保護フィルムをロール機で貼り合わせた。貼り合わせた透明保護フィルム側(両側)から、電子線を照射して、偏光子の両側に透明保護フィルムを有する偏光板を得た。ライン速度は20m/min、加速電圧は250kV、照射線量は20kGyとした。Tgは、140℃、ゲル分率は72重量%であった。
実施例1において、硬化性成分の種類、併用する場合にはその割合、接着剤層の厚みを表1に示すように変えたこと以外は実施例1と同様にして偏光板を得た。なお、比較例4〜6では、電子線照射の代わりに紫外線を300mJ照射した。比較例4〜6では、硬化性成分100重量部に対して、重合開始剤3重量部を添加し用いた。また、グラビアロールは、接着剤層の厚みにより、0.1μm、0.3μm及び0.5μmでは鏡面、0.8μm及び1μmでは#300、2μmでは#280、3μmでは#250、4μm及び4.2μmでは#220、5μm及び6μmでは#180、10μmでは#120、に変えた。各例の接着剤層のTg、ゲル分率を表1に併せて示す。
実施例および比較例で得られた、偏光板について下記評価を行った。結果を表1に示す。
得られた偏光板を、対角15インチのサイズに裁断し、0.5mm厚の無アルカリガラスの両面にアクリル系粘着剤によりクロスニコルの方向に貼り合せてサンプルを作成した。当該サンプルを下記条件下に投入した。
条件(1):−40〜85℃のヒートショックを各30分間×200回
条件(2):−30〜70℃のヒートショックを各30分間×200回
上記各条件における経時的な偏光板の状態を、下記基準で評価した。
◎:クラックが発生していない。
○:端部にのみ5mm以下の短いクラックが発生している。
△:端部以外の場所にクラックが短い線状に発生している。しかし、その線により偏光板が2つ以上の部分に分離してはいない。
×:端部以外の場所にクラックが発生している。その線により偏光板が2つ以上の部分に分離している。
得られた偏光板を、15mm×150mmのサイズに裁断してサンプルとした。サンプルを両面接着テープ(日東電工(株)製,No.500)によりガラス板上に貼り付けた。サンプル(偏光板)には、透明保護フィルムと偏光子の間に予めキッカケを設けておき、そのキッカケを変角度ピール試験機(アサヒセイコウ社製)にチャックしてピール強度(N/15mm)を測定した。測定条件は、常温(23℃)、ピール角:90度、ピール速度:3000mm/minとした。得られた測定データの50mm〜100mm間のデータを平均化した値を表1に示す。

- 偏光子の少なくとも一方の面に、接着剤層を介して透明保護フィルムが設けられている偏光板であって、
接着剤層は、N−ヒドロキシエチルアクリルアミド、N−メチロールアクリルアミド、N−イソプロピルアクリルアミド、およびN−アクリロイルモルホリンから選ばれる少なくとも1種のN−置換アミド系モノマーからなる(メタ)アクリロイル基を有する化合物に係る硬化性成分を含有する活性エネルギー線硬化型接着剤により形成されており、
接着剤層のTgが、60℃以上であり、かつ、
接着剤層の厚みが、0.01〜7μmであることを特徴とする偏光板。 - 接着剤層のTg(℃)をA、接着剤層の厚み(μm)をBと定義した場合に、

を満足することを特徴とする請求項1記載の偏光板。 - 接着剤層は、ゲル分率が50重量%以上であることを特徴とする請求項1または2記載の偏光板。
- 硬化性成分として、さらに、芳香環およびヒドロキシ基を有する単官能の(メタ)アクリレートを含有することを特徴とする請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載の偏光板。
- 活性エネルギー線硬化型接着剤が、電子線硬化型接着剤であることを特徴とする請求項1〜4のいずれかに記載の偏光板。
- 透明保護フィルムが、セルロース樹脂、ポリカーボネート樹脂、環状ポリオレフィン樹脂および(メタ)アクリル樹脂から選ばれるいずれか少なくとも1つであることを特徴とする請求項1〜5のいずれかに記載の偏光板。
- 請求項1〜6のいずれかに記載の偏光板が、少なくとも1枚積層されていることを特徴とする光学フィルム。
- 請求項1〜6のいずれかに記載の偏光板または請求項7記載の光学フィルムが用いられていることを特徴とする画像表示装置。
