背景技术
提出过使用两种或多种不同燃料的内燃发动机。在一个示例中,在题目为“Calculations of Knock Suppression in Highly Turbocharged Ga soline/EthanolEngines Using Direct Ethanol Injection”(“使用直接乙醇喷射的高涡轮增压的汽油/乙醇发动机中的爆震抑制计算”)和“Direct Injection Ethanol BoostedGasoline Engine:Biofuel Leveraging for Cost Effective Reduction of OilDependence and CO2 Emissions”(“直接喷射乙醇增压的汽油发动机:生物燃料用于有成本效益地减少燃油依赖和CO2排放”)的Heywood(海伍德)等人的文章中描述了能够使用多种燃料的发动机。具体地,Heywood等人的文章描述了直接喷射乙醇到发动机汽缸以改进进气的冷却效果,同时依赖进气道喷射汽油提供整个行驶循环中的大多数燃料。在该示例中,乙醇相比较于汽油,由于其较高的蒸发热可以增加辛烷值且增加进气冷却,从而减少爆震对增压和/或压缩比的限制。该方法目的在于改进燃料经济性并增加可再生燃料的使用。
发明内容
本发明的发明人认识到要求用户使用两种或多种分离的燃料(例如汽油和乙醇)给发动机系统加燃料以实现Heywood等人描述的优点是很困难的。为解决该问题,本发明的发明人在此提供一种操作用于车辆的燃烧燃料发动机的燃料输送系统的方法。该方法可以包括:从车载燃料蒸汽分离第一燃料和第二燃料,所述燃料蒸汽至少包括醇类(alcohol)成分和烃类(hydrocarbon)成分,所述第一燃料具有比燃料蒸汽和第二燃料高的醇类成分浓度;将分离的第一燃料从气态冷凝到液态;输送冷凝的液态第一燃料到发动机;及在发动机上燃烧至少冷凝的液态第一燃料。
通过将燃料蒸汽分离成富醇类和富烃类成分,可以实现增加发动机性能和/或燃料经济性的益处,而不要求车辆驾驶员使用两种或多种分离的燃料给车辆加燃料。注意通过施加热和/或真空可以在车辆上从初始液态燃料混合物中产生这些燃料蒸汽。另外,即使车辆不使用时,在加燃料操作中或在燃料系统的每天的加热或冷却中,可以从燃料混合物中产生燃料蒸汽。
本发明的发明人还认识到在一个方法中,将燃料蒸汽通过一种吸收装置,该吸收装置吸收燃料蒸汽的烃类成分的吸收率高于吸收醇类成分,可以实现燃料蒸汽的分离。然而,在其他的示例中,将燃料蒸汽的醇类成分通过一种选择性渗透膜,该选择性渗透膜透过燃料蒸汽的醇类成分的透过率高于透过烃类成分,可以实现燃料蒸汽的分离。
此外,本发明认识到可以使用成批处理方法分离这些燃料蒸汽,成批处理方法允许使用两个或多个吸收装置的较连续的燃料蒸汽分离操作。在一个示例中,本发明提供一种车辆的发动机系统,包括:具有进气通道的内燃发动机;燃料存储箱;配置为通过燃料通道从燃料存储箱接收燃料混合物且从燃料混合物中包含的低挥发性燃料蒸发高挥发性燃料的蒸发器;具有并联设置的至少第一吸收罐和第二吸收罐的蒸汽分离系统;流体连通蒸发器的蒸汽形成区域与分离系统的第一和第二吸收罐的每个的入口的蒸汽通道;流体连通发动机的进气通道与第一和第二吸收罐的每个的出口的燃料蒸汽排放(purging)通道;及控制系统,该控制系统配置为操作蒸发器以从低挥发性燃料中蒸发高挥发性燃料;且在第一模式中,将高挥发性燃料通过第一吸收罐以在第一吸收罐吸收高挥发性燃料的烃类部分,同时从第二吸收罐排放燃料蒸汽到发动机的进气通道;且在第二模式中,将高挥发性燃料通过第二吸收罐以在第二吸收罐吸收燃料蒸汽的烃类部分,同时排放包括在第一模式中从第一吸收罐吸收的烃类部分的燃料蒸汽到发动机的进气通道。
通过周期性地操作吸收装置的至少一个来保留燃料蒸汽中的烃类,同时使至少另一个吸收装置排放先前存储的烃类,可以实现较连续的蒸汽分离过程。

具体实施方式
图1示出内燃发动机120的燃料输送流程100的示意图。在一个示例中,发动机120可以包括在车辆推进系统中,车辆推进系统还可以包括变速器。注意实施流程100的具体硬件如参考图2至图4详述。
燃料输送流程100提供从车载初始燃料混合物中分离醇类燃料成分。在一个示例中,通过对燃料混合物施加热和/或在液态燃料混合物的蒸汽形成区域或自由表面施加部分真空,具有高挥发性(例如高蒸汽压力)的初始燃料混合物的部分可以蒸发或挥发。通过将烃类成分选择性吸收到固体上或通过选择性渗透膜,该选择性渗透膜运送燃料蒸汽的醇类成分比烃类成分多,可以从烃类成分中分离燃料混合物的高挥发性蒸发部分的醇类成分。以此方式,可以从燃料混合物中分离富醇类燃料,相对于剩余的富烃类燃料,以变化的量向发动机提供富醇类燃料。
可以用在车载燃料存储箱上保留的初始为液态的燃料混合物110执行燃料输送流程100。在一个示例中,燃料混合物110可以包括具有汽油或柴油的烃类燃料和具有乙醇和/或甲醇的醇类燃料的混合物。
注意基于烃类的燃料如汽油和柴油可以包括各种成分。例如,汽油可以包括烃类、芳香烃、石蜡、环烷烃、及杂原子有机分子的混合物。为清晰起见,本文中使用的术语烃类成分用于区分基于烃类的燃料如汽油或柴油和基于醇类的燃料如乙醇或甲醇,应理解该烃类成分可以附有芳香烃、石蜡、环烷烃、和/或杂原子有机分子。因此,为清晰起见,燃料混合物的基于烃类的燃料部分的烃类成分附有的各种成分可以简单地描述为烃类或烃类成分。
如在170所示,液态燃料混合物可以提供到如在130所示的蒸发或挥发阶段以分离成高挥发性蒸汽部分172(例如具有高蒸汽压力)与在174或176所示的低挥发性液态部分(例如具有低蒸汽压力)。与高挥发性蒸汽部分分离的低挥发性液态部分比原来的燃料混合物具有更高的辛烷值,其中燃料混合物的较轻的烃类成分包括至少一部分分离的高挥发性蒸汽部分。
经170初始接收的燃料混合物的分离可以包括加热燃料混合物以分离成至少包括醇类和烃类成分的具有低沸点温度(例如高蒸汽压力)和/或高蒸发率的高挥发性部分和包括烃类的具有高沸点温度(例如低蒸汽压力)和/或低蒸发率的低挥发性部分。例如,除了通过蒸发或挥发从燃料混合物中分离的醇类蒸汽之外,汽油的高挥发性部分可以提供包括丁烷、戊烷、己烷,及如苯、甲苯、及二甲苯的芳香烃的蒸汽混合物。
因此,应理解在172所示的燃料混合物的高挥发性部分除了醇类蒸汽之外还可以包括一些烃类蒸汽。此外,在一些示例中,可以在130的燃料混合物的蒸汽形成区域施加部分真空以增加高挥发性部分从燃料混合物的蒸发率。通过在进气通道的截面减小区域或进气节气门的下游与发动机的进气通道连通的通道可以提供部分真空。
在140,在172所示的燃料混合物的高挥发性部分可以经受如在140所示的附加的分离。在一个示例中,经172接收的高挥发性燃料部分的烃类成分可以如178和/或180所示与蒸汽的醇类成分分离,以便获得如177所示的富醇类燃料成分。在一个非限制的示例中,通过在包含在吸收罐中的固体上吸收烃类成分,同时允许醇类成分通过吸收罐而不被吸收,可以在140实现醇类成分与烃类成分的分离。在另一个非限制示例中,选择性渗透膜经受高挥发性燃料蒸汽部分,从而选择性渗透膜允许专门运送醇类成分或比烃类成分更快地运送醇类成分通过渗透膜。另外,来自初始的燃料混合物110的如在122所示的蒸发的蒸汽还可以进行分离,而不必通过在130所示的蒸发或挥发流程。
如本文所述,富醇类燃料成分是相对术语,指的是比燃料混合物第二成分具有更高的醇类浓度的燃料混合物第一成分。注意术语富醇类不必指包括纯醇类的燃料,但还可以包括一些烃类成分。类似地,富烃类燃料成分是另一个相对术语,指的是比第一富醇类成分具有更高的烃类浓度的燃料混合物第二成分。术语富烃类也不必指包括纯烃类的燃料,但可以包括一些醇类成分。
燃料混合物的高挥发性部分的富烃类成分如在180所示以气态提供到发动机,或在160冷凝以如在182或184所示获得液态。在160冷凝的富烃类成分如在184所示以液态提供到发动机。或者,液态富烃类成分如在182所示返回到燃料混合物110。
燃料混合物的高挥发性部分的富醇类成分可以在150冷凝成如在179所示的液态,且可以提供到发动机120。在150和160所示的每个冷凝流程中,增加蒸汽的温度和/或压力可以将燃料蒸汽冷凝到液态。另外,燃料混合物110如在186所示直接以液态提供到发动机。
以此方式,发动机120可以接收具有不同成分和/或状态的多种不同的物质。然而,在一些示例中,这些物质的一种或多种可以略去。例如,可以从燃料输送流程中略去在179、180、184、176、和/或186所示的物质的一种或多种。在至少一个示例中,液态的富醇类成分(例如179)、气态的富烃类成分(例如180)、及液态的富烃类成分(例如184、176、或186)响应于工况以变化的相对量提供到发动机。
在一些示例中,向发动机提供具有不同醇类浓度的两种或多种不同的物质,可以使用分离的燃料喷射器以独立地输送燃料到不同的发动机汽缸。在一个示例中,第一燃料喷射器可以用来提供富醇类液态燃料到发动机的第一位置,第二燃料喷射器可以用来提供富烃类液态燃料到发动机的第二位置。例如,第一喷射器可以配置为用于输送富烃类燃料的进气道喷射器,而第二喷射器可以配置为用于输送富醇类燃料的直接喷射器。然而,在一些示例中,可以通过中间混合阀经共同的燃料喷射器提供多种不同的液态燃料到发动机。此外,如参考图6所述,经与发动机的进气通道连通的燃料蒸汽排气阀燃料蒸汽(如在180所示)可以提供到发动机。不管这些不同燃料提供到发动机的具体方式,发动机120可以如在188所示从环境接收进气,进气可以与燃料混合。空气和燃料混合物可以在不同的发动机汽缸中燃烧以产生机械输出和在190所示的结果的排气。
图2示出包括实施图1的燃料输送流程的示例硬件的示例燃料输送系统200。燃料系统200可以包括配置用于存储液态燃料混合物110的燃料存储箱210。燃料存储箱210可以包括用于向控制系统290提供包含在燃料存储箱210中的燃料量的指示的燃料传感器216。燃料存储箱210还可以包括用于向控制系统290提供燃料成分的指示的燃料传感器218。
在具体的示例中,如参考图1详述,燃料存储箱210可以通过多个燃料路径与发动机120连通。例如,来自存储在燃料存储箱210中的液态燃料混合物的蒸发的蒸汽112可以经燃料蒸汽通道212流向在240所示的蒸汽分离系统,通过将蒸发的蒸汽通过一个或多个吸收罐242和244,可以从燃料蒸汽中去除烃类成分,使醇类成分通过蒸汽分离系统240。吸收罐将在蒸汽中包含的烃类吸收到吸收固体上或在吸收罐中保留的其他合适的材料上,可以从燃料蒸汽去除烃类成分。在一个非限制的示例中,为选择性地从包含在蒸汽中的醇类去除汽油成分,可以将蒸汽通过包括TENAX吸附床、炭吸附床、或其他合适的材料的吸收罐,该材料具有对醇类的低亲和力和对烃类及芳香烃的高亲和力。通过将吸收罐暴露到冷却气体中,如环境空气中,吸收罐可以定期地排放其吸收的成分,这可以促使吸收罐脱附汽油成分。在如图9所示的蒸汽分离系统240的替代的实施例中,依赖选择性透过燃料分离膜而不是吸收到固体上。
燃料蒸汽通道212可以包括在214示意性示出的单向止回阀以减少或阻止燃料流从通道272回到燃料存储箱。燃料蒸汽通道212可以与燃料存储箱的燃料蒸汽形成区域流体连通,且可以放置在由燃料存储箱确定的存储体积的上部区域(相对于引力向量)附近。以此方式,在加燃料操作或燃料混合物的每天加热和冷却中,源自燃料混合物的燃料蒸汽可以传递到分离系统240,燃料分离系统240还可以配置为从蒸发器230接收燃料蒸汽。
可以通过燃料通道270向燃料蒸发器230提供液态的燃料混合物,从而如参考130先前描述通过施加热和/或真空,可以执行燃料混合物的高挥发性部分的蒸发或挥发。燃料通道270可以包括止回阀271以减少或阻止燃料流从蒸发器230回到燃料存储箱中。蒸发器230可以与在232示意性示出的如发动机冷却剂、发动机排气系统、或电加热器的热源热连通。从热源传递到蒸发器的热量可以用来将燃料混合物加热到合适的温度以有助于至少包括醇类成分的燃料混合物的高挥发性部分的挥发或蒸发。
通过改变热源的操作参数(例如温度或热能动力输出)和/或在热源和燃料混合物之间的传热率,可以控制蒸发器的温度以将燃料混合物的温度保持在低于在燃料混合物中包含的重烃类易于蒸发的温度。在一个示例中,通过改变经通道232向蒸发器230提供的工作流体的流率,可以调节热源和燃料混合物之间的热交换率。例如,基本上在213所示的恒温器可以向阀215提供燃料混合物温度的指示以控制回路232中的工作流体的流率。
包括燃料的低挥发性烃类部分(例如在图1的174所示)的燃料混合物的液态部分可以通过通道274返回到燃料存储箱。燃料通道274可以包括阀234,控制系统可以调节阀234以调节返回到燃料存储箱的燃料流。在一些示例中,燃料通道274可以包括在液态燃料返回到燃料存储箱之前用于降低液态燃料的温度的热交换器。以此方式,在燃料返回到燃料存储箱的情况中可以减少燃料存储箱中的燃料温度的额外增加。此外,在一些示例中,至少包括重烃类(例如在图1中的176所示)的燃料混合物的低挥发性部分可以通过燃料通道276提供到发动机。
至少包括醇类成分的燃料混合物的高挥发性部分和潜在一些轻烃类(例如在图1中的172所示)可以通过燃料蒸汽通道272提供到分离系统240,燃料蒸汽通道272与蒸发器230的蒸汽形成区域流体连通。如在图2中示意性地描述,燃料通道274和/或276可以与燃料蒸发器的下部区域连通(例如通过排流),燃料蒸汽通道272可以与燃料蒸发器的上部区域连通,从而改进重液态燃料混合物与轻气态燃料混合物的分离。另外,可以通过蒸汽通道272从进气歧管226在蒸发器上施加真空以进一步有助于从蒸发器230中去除高挥发性燃料蒸汽。在一个示例中,可以调节发动机进气节气门以改变发动机的进气通道中的压力,从而改变通过通道272施加到蒸发器的真空。
在蒸发器230上产生的气态燃料混合物可以通过与通道272连通的一个或多个蒸汽通道提供到分离系统240。在该具体的示例中,分离系统240包括通过通道236和235分别与燃料蒸汽通道272连通的两个吸收罐242和244。如在188所示可以从环境接收空气,且空气可以通过空气通道238提供到通道236和可以通过空气通道237提供到通道235用于从吸收罐排放存储的烃类。控制系统290可以调节在233所示的阀以使吸收罐242通过通道238接收进气或通过通道236从蒸发器接收燃料蒸汽。类似地,控制系统290可以调节在231所示的阀以使吸收罐244通过通道237接收进气或通过通道235接收燃料蒸汽。阀233和阀231可以包括三向阀或用于使控制系统290选择与吸收罐连通的两个流路中的一个的其他合适的阀。
取决于阀243和阀241的位置,吸收罐242和吸收罐244可以通过蒸汽通道246和245分别与冷凝器250连通,及可以通过蒸汽通道248和247分别与排放通道280连通。在一个非限制的示例中,控制系统可以协调阀231、233、241、及243的调节以利用分离系统240的第一吸收罐以从烃类蒸汽成分中去除醇类蒸汽成分,可以使分离系统的第二吸收罐排放吸收存储在第二吸收罐的烃类成分。
现参考图3,描述操作分离系统240的示例控制策略的流程图。若在310,烃类可以从吸收罐242排放,则例程可以进行到312。否则,例程继续进行到318。例如,在310,控制系统可以判断是否排放存储在吸收罐242中的烃类。控制系统可以响应于相对于吸收罐的烃类存储能力在吸收罐中包含的烃类的量的指示使吸收罐242排放。这些指示可以包括:自吸收罐先前的排放以来的时期、自先前排放以来通过吸收罐的醇类的量、吸收罐的温度、吸收罐的质量、和/或吸收罐两端的压力差等。
例如,吸收罐242和244可以包括设置在吸收罐上游、吸收罐下游、及吸收罐上,且与控制系统290通信以提供温度指示的温度传感器。在另一个示例中,压力传感器可以提供在吸收罐的上游和下游,且可以与控制系统290通信以提供通过吸收罐的压力降的指示。
吸收罐242可以通过执行操作312-314排放烃类。在312,可以调节阀233以开启到吸收罐242的空气通道238和关闭蒸汽通道236。在314,可以调节阀243以关闭蒸汽通道246和开启到吸收罐242的通道248。在316,可以调节排放阀282以改变排放到发动机的烃类蒸汽的流率。以此方式,控制系统可以操作分离系统240以便通过使空气经吸收罐242从环境流向进气歧管226的低压从而使空气带出存储的烃类蒸汽来排放烃类。
若在318,烃类存储在吸收罐242上,则例程可以进行到320。否则,例程可以进行到324。例如,在318,控制系统可以判断是否在吸收罐242存储烃类。在一个示例中,若蒸发器230产生燃料蒸汽和/或吸收罐244接近其烃类存储能力或进行排放时,控制系统可以在吸收罐242存储烃类。在320,可以调节阀233以开启到吸收罐242的蒸汽通道236和关闭空气通道238。在322,可以调节阀243以开启到吸收罐242的蒸汽通道246和关闭通道248,从而控制蒸发器产生的燃料蒸汽通过吸收罐242,在吸收罐242可以捕集燃料蒸汽的烃类成分,且醇类成分可以进行到冷凝器250。
若在324,可以从吸收罐244排放烃类,则例程可以进行到326。否则,例程可以进行到332。例如,在324,控制系统可以判断是否排放存储在吸收罐244中的烃类。控制系统可以响应于相对于吸收罐的烃类存储能力在存储罐中包含的烃类的量的指示使吸收罐244排放。如参考吸收罐242先前描述,这些指示可以包括:自吸收罐的先前排放以来的时期、从通过吸收罐的燃料蒸汽冷凝的醇类的量、吸收罐的温度、吸收罐的质量、和/或吸收罐两端的压力差等。
吸收罐244可以通过执行操作326-330排放烃类。在326,可以调节阀231以开启到吸收罐244的空气通道237且关闭蒸汽通道235。在328,可以调节阀241以关闭蒸汽通道245且开启到吸收罐244的通道247。在330,可以调节排放阀282以改变排放到发动机的烃类蒸汽的流率。以此方式,控制系统可以操作分离系统240以便通过使空气通过吸收罐244从环境流到发动机的低压进气歧管,从而使空气带出存储的烃类蒸汽来排放烃类。
若在332,烃类存储在吸收罐244,则例程可以进行到334。否则,例程可以返回。例如,在332,控制系统可以判断是否在吸收罐244存储烃类。在一个示例中,若蒸发器230产生燃料蒸汽和/或吸收罐242接近其烃类存储能力或进行排放时,控制系统可以在吸收罐244存储烃类。在334,可以调节阀231以开启到吸收罐244的蒸汽通道235和关闭空气通道237。在336,可以调节阀241以开启到吸收罐244的蒸汽通道245和关闭通道247,从而控制蒸发器产生的燃料蒸汽通过吸收罐244,在吸收罐244可以捕集燃料蒸汽的烃类成分,且醇类成分可以进行到冷凝器250。
虽然图3描述如何操作吸收罐242和244以存储或排放烃类。图4描述如何协调吸收罐242和244以实现蒸发器产生的燃料蒸汽混合物的成批处理。在410,若在第一吸收罐存储的烃类燃料的量超过第一吸收罐的存储阈值,则例程可以进行到420。否则,例程可以返回,其中第一吸收罐可以继续存储燃料混合物蒸汽的烃类部分,同时将醇类成分通过到冷凝器。在420,第二吸收罐可以从排放操作转换到存储操作,第一吸收罐可以排放存储的烃类。
继续参考图4,在430,若判断在第二吸收罐存储的烃类的量超过第二吸收罐的存储阈值,则例程可以进行到440。否则,例程可以返回,第二吸收罐可以继续存储燃料混合物蒸汽的烃类成分,同时将醇类成分通过到冷凝器。在440,第一吸收罐可以从排放操作转换到存储操作,第二吸收罐可以排放存储的烃类。以此方式,蒸发器和/或燃料存储箱产生的蒸发的燃料蒸汽可以通过至少两个吸收罐的一个以去除烃类,同时另一个吸收罐排放一批先前存储的烃类到发动机。注意在一些示例中,分离系统240可以仅包括一个吸收罐。
经一个或多个吸收罐(或其他合适的分离系统)通过分离系统240的醇类蒸汽(例如在图1中的177所示)可以通过与通道245和246连通的蒸汽通道277提供到冷凝器250。冷凝器250可以配置为将从分离系统接收的醇类蒸汽冷凝为在179所示的液态。液态的醇类可以通过燃料通道279提供到发动机。在一个示例中,冷凝器250可以配置为增加施加到醇类蒸汽的压力和/或温度以促进冷凝。冷凝器250可以通过具有比从分离系统接收的醇类蒸汽更低的温度的冷却回路252接收工作流体。例如,工作流体可以包括环境空气或车载空调元件使用的制冷剂。在又一个示例中,可以使用热电冷却装置冷却在冷凝器上的醇类蒸汽。恒温器253可以向调节通过冷却回路252的工作流体的流量的阀255提供冷凝器250中的醇类温度的指示。如在图2中示意性描述,蒸汽通道277可以与冷凝器250的上部区域连通,用于接收液态醇类的燃料通道279可以与冷凝器250的下部区域连通(例如排流)以促进液态醇类和气态醇类的分离。
图2提供将燃料混合物分离成比第二燃料(富烃类燃料)具有更高的醇类浓度和更低的烃类浓度的第一燃料(富醇类燃料)的方法。至少包括液态醇类(例如图1中的179所示)的第一燃料可以通过基本上在222所示的第一燃料喷射系统提供到每个发动机的汽缸。至少包括液态烃类(例如图1中的176、184、或186所示)的第二燃料可以通过基本上在224所示的第二燃料喷射系统提供到每个发动机的汽缸。

在又一个示例中,控制系统可以监测每种燃料的使用率(例如通过燃料存储量和/或燃料喷射器脉冲宽度和喷射频率的变化),且可以调节燃料混合物的处理率(例如蒸发、分离、及冷凝),从而确保每种燃料成分有足够的量可用于发动机。
在又一个示例中,出于分离燃料成分的目的,当控制系统确定燃料存储箱210中包含的燃料包括不足够的醇类浓度,控制系统可以减少或停止在蒸发器230、蒸汽分离器240、和/或冷凝器250上的各种操作。例如,燃料存储箱210中包含的燃料包括纯汽油,控制系统可以关闭蒸发器230和冷凝器250以保存能量。在该情况下,燃料可以通过通道201和276直接提供到发动机,从而绕过蒸发器、分离器、和/或冷凝器。
控制系统还可以通过调节未在图2中示出的中间阀和/或泵的操作,实现燃料流率、流过回路232的工作流体的流率、及流过回路252的工作流体的流率的增加或减少。例如,燃料通道270可以包括由控制系统290控制的燃料泵。在另一个示例中,燃料通道276和279可以包括用于向燃料喷射系统提供足够的燃料压力的燃料泵。通过增加泵功和/或压力上升,可以增加提供到蒸发器的燃料的流率。通过开启阀215或增加提供到加热回路232的泵功,可以增加工作流体的流率。以此方式,控制系统可以调节燃烧输送系统的各种参数以满足发动机的具体的燃料消耗率。另外,如在201示意性地描述,可以提供燃料旁路以连接燃料存储箱210与燃料通道276和/或富烃类燃料存储箱208。因此,在至少一定程度绕过蒸发器的情况下,包含在燃料存储箱210中的燃料混合物可以直接提供到发动机,而不要求其首先通过蒸发器。响应于绕过蒸发器且用燃料混合物补充富烃类燃料的决定,控制系统可以减少输送到发动机的富醇类燃料的量以考虑已包含在燃料混合物中的醇类。因此,在燃料存储箱210或208上的燃料成分传感器可以向控制系统提供燃料喷射系统224喷射的燃料中包含的醇类浓度的指示,且对通过燃料喷射系统222输送到发动机的富醇类燃料的量进行适当的调节。燃料喷射系统222和224如参考图6详述,从而燃料喷射器666A可以从燃料喷射系统222接收燃料,燃料喷射器666B可以从燃料喷射系统224接收燃料。
图5和图6详细提供发动机120的示意图。图6示出多汽缸发动机120的示例汽缸,以及连接到汽缸的进气和排气路径。在图6所示的示例实施例中,发动机120通过两种不同的喷射器使用两种不同的燃料(例如富醇类燃料和富烃类燃料)。例如,发动机120可以选择性地使用包括汽油的富烃类燃料和包括乙醇和/或甲醇的富醇类燃料。在其他的实施例中,单个喷射器(如直接喷射器)可以用来喷射汽油和醇类燃料的混合物,通过控制器290经混合阀可以调节混合物中两种燃料量的比。
可以变化的相对量选择性地使用汽油(或其他烃类)和醇类以利用醇类燃料(例如通过直接喷射)提供的增加的进气冷却,从而减少发动机爆震的倾向。这种现象结合增加的压缩比、增压和/或发动机尺寸减小通过减少发动机的爆震限制可以用来获得相当大的燃料经济性。
图6示出对于至少一个汽缸,每个汽缸具有两个燃料喷射器的示例燃料喷射系统。然而,发动机的每个汽缸还包括两个燃料喷射器。两个燃料喷射器可以配置在各种位置,如两个进气道喷射器、一个进气道喷射器和一个直接喷射器(如图6所示)、或两个直接喷射器。发动机120的燃烧室630如图所示包括在其中定位有活塞636的燃烧室壁632,活塞636连接到曲轴640。起动机马达(未示出)可以通过飞轮(未示出)连接到曲轴640,或替代地可以使用直接发动机起动。
燃烧室或汽缸630如图所示通过相应的进气门652a和652b(未示出)和排气门654a和654b(未示出)与进气歧管544和排气歧管548连通。因此,虽然可以使用每汽缸四个气门,但在另一个示例中,可以使用每个汽缸一个进气门和一个排气门。在又另一个示例中,可以使用每汽缸两个进气门和一个排气门。
燃烧室630具有压缩比,该压缩比定义为当活塞636在下止点时的燃烧室体积与当活塞在上止点时的燃烧室的体积的比。在一个示例中,压缩比接近9:1、在10:1和11:1之间、或在11:1和12:1之间、或更大。
燃料喷射器666A如图所示直接连接到燃烧室630以成比例于经电子驱动器668A从控制器290接收的信号脉宽dfpw直接输送喷射的燃料到其中。虽然图6示出喷射器666A定位在汽缸的侧壁,但是喷射器666A也可以位于活塞的顶部,如在火花塞592的位置附近。由于一些基于醇类的燃料的低挥发性这样的位置可以改进混合和燃烧。替代地,喷射器可以位于进气门上方和附近以改进混合。
富醇类燃料可以通过高压燃料喷射系统222输送到燃料喷射器666A,该高压燃料喷射系统222如在图2中示意性示出还包括燃料存储箱、燃料泵或泵、及燃料导轨。在另一个示例中,富醇类燃料在低压下由单级燃料泵输送,在该情况下,在压缩冲程中直接燃料喷射的正时比在使用高压燃料系统时更受限制。
燃料喷射器666B如图所示在该示例中连接到进气歧管544,而不是直接连接到汽缸630。燃料喷射器666B可以成比例于经电子驱动器668B从控制器290接收的信号脉宽pfpw输送富烃类燃料,如在图2中所示为燃料喷射系统224。注意单个驱动器668可以用于两个燃料喷射系统,或可以使用多个驱动器。燃料分离系统240包括一个或多个用于存储烃类蒸汽的吸收罐,该吸收罐如图所示在构型上与进气歧管544连通。可以使用各种燃料系统和燃料蒸汽排放系统,例如,参考图1和图2在本文描述的那些。
进气歧管544如图所示通过节流板562与节气门体658连通。在该具体的示例中,节流板562连接到电动马达694以便椭圆形节流板562的位置可以经电动马达694由控制系统290控制。该配置可以称为电子节气门控制(ETC),这还可以在怠速控制中使用。在替代的实施例(未示出)中,旁路空气过道可以与节流板562并联设置以在怠速控制中经空气过道中定位的怠速控制旁通阀控制引入的空气流。
排气传感器676如图所示连接到催化转化器570的上游的排气歧管548,传感器676可以对应于各种排气传感器。例如,传感器676可以是用于提供排气空燃比的指示的合适的传感器,如线性氧传感器、UEGO、两态氧传感器、EGO、HEGO、HC或CO传感器。在该具体的示例中,传感器676是向控制系统290提供信号EGO的两态氧传感器,控制系统290可以将信号EGO转化成两态信号EGOS。信号EGOS的高压状态表示排气比化学计量比浓,信号EGOS的低压状态表示排气比化学计量比稀。在反馈空燃控制中可以有利地使用信号EGOS以在化学计量比均质操作模式中保持平均的空燃比在化学计量比。
无分电器点火系统588响应于来自控制系统290的点火提前信号SA经火花塞592选择性地向燃烧室630提供点火火花。控制系统290通过控制喷射正时、喷射量、喷射式样等可以促使燃烧室630以多种不同的燃烧模式操作,包括均质空燃模式和分层空燃模式。此外,可以在燃烧室中形成结合的分层和均质混合物。在一个示例中,在压缩冲程中可以通过操作喷射器666A形成分层。在另一个示例中,在进气冲程(可以是开启气门喷射)中通过操作喷射器666A和666B中的一个或两个可以形成均质混合物。在又一个示例中,在进气冲程(可以是关闭气门喷射)之前通过操作喷射器666A和666B中的一个或两个可以形成均质混合物。在其他的示例中,在一个或多个冲程(例如进气、压缩、排气等)中可以使用来自喷射器666A和666B中的一个或两个的多次喷射。如下文所述,在又一些示例中在不同工况下可以使用不同的喷射正时和混合物组成。控制系统290可以控制燃料喷射器666A和666B输送的燃料量以便将燃烧室630中的均质、分层、或结合的均质/分层空燃混合物选择在化学计量比、比化学计量比浓的值、或比化学计量比稀的值。排放控制装置672如图所示定位在催化转化器570的下游。排放控制装置672可以是三元催化剂、NOx捕集器、或其组合。
控制系统290如图所示为微计算机,包括微处理器单元602、输入/输出端口604、可执行程序和校准值的电子存储媒体,在该具体的示例中如图所示为只读存储芯片606、随机存取存储器608、保活存储器610、及常规数据总线。除了上述的那些信号之外,控制系统290如图所示从连接到发动机120的传感器接收各种信号,包括来自连接到节气门体658的质量空气流量传感器500的引入的质量空气流量(MAF)的测量值;来自连接到冷却套管514的温度传感器512的发动机冷却剂温度(ECT);来自连接到曲轴640的霍尔效应传感器518的齿面点火感测信号(PIP);来自节气位置传感器520的节气门位置TP;来自传感器522的绝对歧管压力信号MAP;来自爆震传感器682的爆震的指示;来自传感器680的绝对或相对环境湿度的指示。发动机转速信号RPM由控制系统290从信号PIP以常规的方式产生,来自歧管压力传感器的歧管压力信号MAP提供进气歧管中的真空、或压力的指示。在化学计量比操作中,该传感器可以给出发动机荷载的指示。此外,该传感器结合发动机转速一起可以提供引入到汽缸中的进气(包括空气)的估计值。在一个示例中,传感器518还可以用作发动机转速传感器,曲轴每转一圈产生预定数目的等间隔脉冲。
在该具体的示例中,催化转化器570的温度Tcatl由温度传感器524提供,排放控制装置672的温度Tcat2由温度传感器526提供。在替代的实施例中,温度Tcatl和温度Tcat2可以从发动机操作中推断。
继续参考图6,示出可变凸轮轴正时系统。具体地,发动机120的凸轮轴530如图所示与摇臂532和534连通以驱动进气门652a、652b和排气门654a、654b。凸轮轴530直接连接到壳体536。壳体536形成具有多个齿538的齿轮。壳体536经正时链或正时带(未示出)液压连接到曲轴640。因此,壳体536和凸轮轴530以与曲轴相同的转速或曲轴转速的倍数的转速旋转。然而,如下文所述通过操作液压连接,在提前室642和延迟室644中的液压压力可以改变凸轮轴530到曲轴640的相对位置。通过允许高压液压液进入提前室642,可以提前凸轮轴530和曲轴640之间的相对关系。因此,相对于曲轴640,进气门652a、652b和排气门654a、654b比通常稍早开启和关闭。类似地,通过允许高压液压液进入延迟室644,可以延迟凸轮轴530和曲轴640之间的相对关系。因此,相对于曲轴640,进气门652a、652b和排气门654a、654b比通常稍晚开启和关闭。
虽然该示例示出在其中同时控制进气门和排气门正时的系统,可以使用可变进气凸轮正时、可变排气凸轮正时、双独立可变凸轮正时、或固定凸轮正时。此外,在不同的工况下还可以使用可变气门升程和/或凸轮轴廓线变换以提供不同的凸轮廓线。此外,气门机构可以是滚柱指轮从动件(roller finger follower)、直接作用式机械叶片(bucket)、电机装置、电液装置、或摇臂的其他替代。
继续参考可变凸轮正时系统,齿538连接到壳体536和凸轮轴530,允许经凸轮正时传感器550测量相对凸轮位置以提供信号VCT到控制系统290。齿501、502、503、及504优选地用于凸轮正时的测量且是等间隔的(例如在V8双排发动机中彼此间隔90度),而齿505优选地用于汽缸识别,如下文所述。此外,控制系统290可以向常规的电磁阀(未示出)发送控制信号(LACT、RACT)以控制进入到提前室642、延迟室644中的液压液的流量,或控制液压液两个室都不进入。
可以多种方式测量相对凸轮正时。总体上,在PIP信号的上升沿和从壳体536上的多个齿538中的一个接收的信号之间的时间或转角提供相对凸轮正时的测量。对于具有两排汽缸和五齿齿轮的V8发动机的具体的示例,每转一圈接收四次具体的一排汽缸的凸轮正时的测量,其中额外的信号用于汽缸识别。
传感器560还可以经信号562提供排气中的氧浓度的指示,信号562可以向控制系统290提供指示O2浓度的电压。例如,传感器560可以是HEGO、UEGO、EGO、或其他类型的排气传感器。应注意如上所述关于传感器676和传感器560可以对应于各种不同的传感器。
图6仅示出多汽缸发动机中的一个汽缸,且每个汽缸具有其各自的一组进气门/排气门、燃料喷射器、火花塞等。例如,现参考图5,发动机120如图所示具有四个直列式汽缸,然而,发动机120可以具有任何合适数目的汽缸。发动机120可以包括具有如涡轮增压器519的压缩装置的增压装置,涡轮增压器519具有连接在排气歧管548中的涡轮519a和连接在进气歧管544中的压缩机519b。虽然图5未示出中间冷却器,但可以选择地包括一个中间冷却器。涡轮519a通常通过驱动轴515连接到压缩机519b。可以使用各种类型的涡轮增压器装置。例如,可以使用可变几何涡轮增压器(VGT),在发动机操作中控制系统290可以改变涡轮和/或压缩机的几何特性以改变提供到发动机120的增压压力。替代地或附加地,当可变截面喷嘴放置在排气管路的涡轮的上游和/或下游(和/或进气管路中的压缩机的上游或下游)时,可以使用可变喷嘴涡轮增压器(VNT)以通过涡轮增压器改变气体的有效膨胀或压缩。还可以使用其他的方法改变排气中的膨胀,如废气门阀。图5示出围绕涡轮519a的示例旁通阀520和围绕压缩机519b的示例旁通阀522,每个阀是通过控制系统290改变提供到发动机120的增压压力的控制器。在一些示例中,可以使用双涡轮增压器装置和/或顺序涡轮增压器装置。在多个可调节涡轮增压器和/或涡轮增压器级的情况下,取决于工况(例如歧管压力、空气流量、发动机转速等),期望改变通过涡轮增压器的相对膨胀量。此外,在其他的示例中还可以使用机械增压器。
图7示出了描述控制到发动机的富醇类燃料和富烃类燃料的输送的示例方法的流程图。在710,可以确定发动机和燃料系统的工况。例如,控制系统可以从上述各种传感器获得工况信息。工况可以包括:发动机转速、发动机荷载、发动机温度、增压压力、涡轮增压器工况、环境条件、在车辆上存储的分离和未分离的燃料量、可用于输送到发动机的每种燃料的成分和量、驾驶员要求的发动机性能(例如从加速器踏板接收的输入)、每种燃料类型的使用率、及其他工况。
在720,响应于在710确定的工况,富烃类燃料和富醇类燃料可以变化的相对量提供到发动机。例如,控制系统响应于如增压装置提供的增压压力、发动机荷载、及发动机转速等的工况,相对于提供到发动机的如汽油的富烃类燃料的量,可以改变如乙醇的富醇类燃料的量。当选择提供到发动机的每种燃料的相对量时,控制系统还可以利用富醇类燃料和富烃类燃料的成分的指示。例如,当富烃类燃料还包括一些醇类时,相对于富烃类燃料,控制系统可以减少提供到发动机的富醇类燃料的量。此外,控制系统可以调节提供到发动机的富醇类燃料和富汽油燃料的量以便在发动机汽缸中燃烧目标空燃比。
如参考图6所述,在至少一些示例中,可以通过汽缸内直接燃料喷射器直接向发动机汽缸提供富醇类燃料,可以通过一组分离的进气道喷射器或替代地通过分离的直接喷射器向发动机汽缸提供富烃类燃料。在其他的示例中,通过包括设置在喷射器的上游的混合阀的单个缸内直接喷射器可以向每个发动机汽缸提供富烃类燃料和富醇类燃料,以调节喷射器引入的每种燃料的相对量。
在730,若工况提供发动机爆震的指示,则在740相对于富烃类燃料的量,可以增加向发动机提供的富醇类燃料的量以减少或消除发动机爆震。在一些示例中,发动机可以包括通信地连接到控制系统的爆震传感器以使控制响应于发动机爆震的指示,增加输送到发动机的醇类的相对量。最后,例程可以返回到开始。
图8示出控制系统响应于变化的工况选择富醇类燃料和富汽油燃料的合适的比率使用的示例映射。例如,如在810所示,响应于增加的发动机荷载、发动机转速、发动机增压、及可以影响发动机爆震的其他工况,相对于包括汽油的富烃类燃料,可以增加如乙醇的富醇类燃料的比率。在一个示例中,图8表示可以存储在控制系统上的存储器中的映射。
图9示出参考图2上述的分离器240的替代实施例的示意图。在该具体的示例中,通过燃料分离膜910可以从烃类成分中分离燃料蒸汽的醇类成分。燃料分离膜910可以包括使燃料的醇类成分以与烃类成分不同的比率(例如更高的比率)通过分离膜的任何合适的选择性渗透膜。在一个非限制的示例中,燃料分离膜910可以包括NAFION或其他合适的材料。燃料分离膜910可以将分离器第一区域920和第二区域930分离。由于燃料分离膜910的选择性,如通过通道272在区域920接收的燃料蒸汽的醇类成分可以高于烃类成分的比率通过燃料分离膜910并进入区域930。在一些示例中,燃料分离膜可以完全地从区域930排除烃类成分。至少通过膜的醇类成分可以通过通道277提供到冷凝器250,而至少燃料蒸汽的烃类成分可以通过通道280提供到发动机的进气歧管。注意蒸汽分离器240可以接收通过通道272来自蒸发器230的燃料蒸汽或可以接收通过与通道272流体连通的通道212来自燃料存储箱210的燃料蒸汽。

Claims (10)
1.一种操作用于车辆的燃烧燃料发动机的燃料输送系统的方法,所述方法包括:
从车载燃料蒸汽分离第一燃料和第二燃料,所述燃料蒸汽至少包括醇类成分和烃类成分,所述第一燃料具有比所述燃料蒸汽和第二燃料高的醇类成分浓度;
将所述分离的第一燃料从气态冷凝到液态;
输送所述冷凝的液态第一燃料到所述发动机;及
在所述发动机燃烧至少所述冷凝的液态第一燃料。

与所述缸内燃料喷射器和所述第二燃料喷射器连接的燃料系统,所述燃料系统配置为接收包括所述第一燃料和第二燃料的液态燃料混合物,及至少部分地将从所述液态燃料混合物产生的燃料蒸汽分离成所述第一燃料和第二燃料,以便所述第一燃料具有比所述第二燃料高的醇类成分浓度;及
控制系统,所述控制系统配置为响应于工况,相对于所述第二燃料喷射器输送的所述第二燃料的量,改变所述缸内燃料喷射器喷射的所述第一燃料的量。
