Abstract
''CAPACITOR DE CAMADA DUPLA, E, PROCESSO DE FABRICAçãO DO MESMO". Um capacitor de camada dupla de alto desempenho, de vários eletrodos e pilha única inclui uma primeira (Pilha A) e uma segunda (pilha B) pilhas planas de eletrodos intercalados (141) adaptados para serem alojados em uma caixa de capacitor de duas partes, vedável (figura 12), que inclui apenas uma única vedação de eletrólito (154,156,158). Cada pilha de eletrodos tem uma série de eletrodos ligados em paralelo, com os eletrodos de uma pilha sendo intercalados com os eletrodos da outra pilha de modo a se formar uma pilha intercalada (141), e com os eletrodos de cada pilha sendo eletricamente ligados a respectivos terminais de capacitor. Uma luva separadora porosa (140) é inserida sobre os eletrodos de uma pilha (Pilha B) antes da intercalação, de modo a se evitar curtos entre os eletrodos. Os eletrodos são fabricados dobrando-se um tecido de carbono compressível, de baixa resistência, impregnado com alumínio (136), fabricado a partir de fibras de carbono ativado, em volta de uma folha de coletor de corrente (132), com projeção (133) das folhas de cada eletrodo de cada pilha sendo ligada em paralelo. As projeções ligadas em paralelo (135,142) são então ligadas aos respectivos terminais de capacitor. A altura da pilha intercalada é um pouco maior que a altura interna da caixa de capacitor fechada, deste modo exigindo-se a compressão da pilha de eletrodos intercalados quando colocada no interior da caixa, e deste modo mantendo-se a pilha de eletrodos intercalados sob pressão moderada constante. A caixa de capacitor fechada é enchida com uma solução eletrolítica e vedada. Uma solução eletrolítica preferida é fabricada dissolvendo-se um sal apropriado em acetonitrila (CH~ 3~CN). Em uma modalidade, as duas partes da caixa de capacitor (150,152) são condutoras e funcionam como os terminais de capacitor.
