Abstract

본 발명은 균질하고, 입자 내부에 종결정을 함유하지 않으며; 팔면체 이상의 다면체이고: D/H비(여기서, D는 입자의 빽빽히 찬 육각형 격자의 육각형 격자면에 평행인 최대 입자 직경을 나타내고 H는 육각형 격자면에 수직인 입자 직경을 나타낸다)가 0.5내지 3.0이며; 수 평균 입자 직경이 5㎛를 초과하고 30㎛이하이고; 나트륨 함량이 Na2O로 0.05중량%미만이며; 알루미나 순도가 99.90중량%이상인 α-알루미나 단결정 입자를 포함하는 α-알루미나에 관한 것이다. 분말 형태의 α-알루미나는 고순도, 미세하고 균일한 조성, 좁은 입자 크기 분포 범위 및 응집체가 아닌 팔면체 이상의 다면렉 형태를 갖는 α-알루미나 단결정 입자로 이루어진다. 본 발명의 α-알루미나는 연마제, 소결 제품, 플라즈마용사재, 밀봉재, 세라믹 필터 원료 등으로서 적합하고 매우 높은 순도로 인해, 예를 들면, 이트륨 알루미늄 석류석(YAG), 사파이어, 루비 등과 같은 단결정 및 고순도 소결 제품 원료로서 특히 유용하다.

제1도는 실시예1에서 수득한 α-알루미나의 미립자 모양을 나타내는 주사 전자 현미경(SEM)사진(배율 : 930)이다.
제2도는 실시예 2에서 수득한 α-알루미나의 미립자 모양을 나타내는 주사 전자 현미경 (SEM)사진(배율 : 930)이다.
제5도는 비교 실시예 2에서 수득한 α-알루미나의 미립자 형태를 나타내는 SEM 사진(배율 : 1,900)이다.

Claims (5)

  1. 균질하고, 인자 내부에 종결정(seed crystal)을 함유하지 않으며; 팔면체 이상의 다면체이고; D/H비(여기서, D는 입자의 빽빽히 찬 육각형 격자의 육각형 격자면에 평행인 최대 입자 직경을 나타내고 H는 육각형 격자면에 수직인 입자 직경을 나타낸다)가 0.5내지 3.0이며; 수 평균 입자 직경이 5㎛를 초과하고 30㎛이하 이고; 나트륨 함량이 Na2O로 0.05중랑%미만이며 알루미나 순도가 99.90중량%이상임을 특징으로 하는 α-알루미나 단결정 입자를 포함하는 a-알루미나.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, α-알루미나 단결정 인자가, D90/D10비(여기서, D10및 D/90은 각각 직경이 작은 쪽으로부터 도시한 누적분포의 누적 10%직경 및 누적 90%직경을 나타낸다)가 10이하인 입자 크기 분포를 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는 α-알루미나.
  3. 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서, 알루미나 순도가 99.95중량%이상임을 특징으로 하는 α-알루미나.
  4. 제1항, 제2항 또는 제3항에 있어서, 단결정을 제조하기 위한 원료인α-알루미나.
  5. 제1항, 제2항 또는 제3항에 있어서, 고순도 소결 제품들 제조하기 위한 원료인 α-알루미나.
