Description
実施例1は、BASFのカオリン製造工程から入手した、微細な粒子サイズのカオリンと、層間剥離された粗カオリンのストリームの混合物から生産された複数の試料を含む。層間剥離された粗ストリームは、中部ジョージア地域の白色粗粘土の2つの異なる源に由来する。これらの試料は、粗1番および粗2番と表示される。粗試料1番(約56%固体)は剥離され、酸およびミョウバンでフロックされ、ろ過され、ポリアクリル酸分散剤で再分散される。粗試料2番(約54%固体)は、剥離され、高固体処理のために、ポリアクリル酸の追加以外の更なる処理を必要としない。微細な粘土は、中部ジョージア地域から採掘された第三紀のカオリン(T1)および東部ジョージア地域から採掘された第三紀のカオリン(T2)からなる。これらの第三紀のカオリンの両方は、酸およびミョウバンでフロックされ、ろ過され、ポリアクリル酸分散剤で再分散される。個別の試料は、層間剥離されたカオリンストリームと、微細な粒子サイズのカオリンストリームとを混合することによって生産される。試料1番は、粗1番の混合物の90重量%およびT1の10重量%を含む。試料2番は、粗2番の90重量%およびT1の10重量%を含む。試料3番は、粗1番の90重量%およびT2の10重量%を含む。試料4番は、粗2番の90重量%およびT2の10重量%を含む。表1は、生産された4つの混合試料の元素分析を含む。表2は、混合物のそれぞれの粒子サイズの分布、ならびに使用された層間剥離された粗カオリン成分および微細な含水カオリン成分を含む。
実施例2は、説明された本発明の別の実施形態を含む。混合物は、微細な成分を増加させるように混合比率を調整しながら、微細な含水カオリン、および層間剥離された粗カオリンを用いて生産された。試料は、混合前に層間剥離された、白色の粗カオリンを用いて生産された。微細なカオリンは、酸およびミョウバンでフロックされ、ろ過され、ポリアクリル酸分散剤で再分散された、中部ジョージア地域から採掘された第三紀のカオリン原料に由来していた。試料5番は、層間剥離された粘土の混合物の70重量%、および中部ジョージアの第三紀のカオリンの30重量%を含む。表3は、この試料から得られた元素分析を含み、表4は、結果として生じる粒子サイズの分布を示す。
Claims (17)
- a)直径2μm未満の平均粒径を有し、直径2μm未満の粒子質量が85%未満である板状の粗カオリン粘土と、
b)直径1μm未満の平均粒径を有し、直径1μm未満の粒子質量が95%以上であり、直径0.5μm未満の粒子質量が85%を超える微細な含水カオリン粘土と、
を含む、混合含水カオリン粘土製品であって、
Sediagraph 5100を用いた測定により、総粒子質量の75%以上、86%未満が粒径2μm未満であることを特徴とする混合含水カオリン粘土製品。 - 前記板状の粗カオリン粘土が層間剥離されたカオリン粘土である、請求項1に記載の粘土製品。
- 前記粗カオリン粘土成分と、前記微細なカオリン粘土成分との重量比が10:90から90:10の間である、請求項1に記載の粘土製品。
- 前記粗カオリン粘土成分と、前記微細なカオリン粘土成分との重量比が50:50から90:10の間である、請求項1に記載の粘土製品。
- 前記粗カオリン粘土成分と、前記微細なカオリン粘土成分との重量比が60:40から90:10の間である、請求項1に記載の粘土製品。
- 前記粗カオリン粘土成分が白亜質粘土または二次粘土であり、前記微細なカオリン粘土成分が第三紀原層から採掘された粘土である、請求項1に記載の粘土製品。
- 第三紀原層から採掘された前記粘土が、Sediagraph 5100によって測定されたとき、総粒子質量の75%を超える部分が粒径2μm未満であり、総粒子質量の55%を超える部分が粒径1μm未満であるような総粒子質量を有する、請求項6に記載の粘土製品。
- 前記混合粘土製品の不純物プロファイルが、0.1重量%未満のNa2O、0.25重量%未満のK2O、1.75重量%未満のTiO2、0.6重量%未満のFe2O3、0.1重量%未満のCaO、および0.1重量%未満のP2O5である、請求項6に記載の粘土製品。
- 前記第三紀原層に基づく粘土成分と、前記白亜質層又は二次層に基づく粘土成分との間の重量比が90:10から10:90の間である、請求項8に記載の粘土製品。
- 前記第三紀原層に基づく粘土成分と、前記白亜質層又は二次層に基づく粘土成分との間の前記重量比が50:50から10:90の間である、請求項8に記載の粘土製品。
- 前記第三紀原層に基づく粘土成分と、前記白亜質層又は二次層に基づく粘土成分との間の前記重量比が40:60から10:90の間である、請求項8に記載の粘土製品。
- a)前記層間剥離された粗カオリン粘土は、粒径2μm未満の部分が前記総粒子質量の85%未満であり、
b)前記微細なカオリン粘土は、粒径1μm未満の部分が前記質量の95%以上および粒径0.5μm未満の部分が前記質量の85%を超える、
請求項2に記載の粘土製品。 - 前記微細な粘土が第三紀原層から採掘された、請求項12に記載の粘土製品。
- 前記第三紀粘土が、Sediagraph 5100によって測定されたとき、75%を超えて粒径2μm未満であり、55%を超えて粒径1μm未満である総粒子質量を有する、請求項13に記載の粘土製品。
- a)直径2μm未満の平均粒径を有し、直径2μm未満の粒子質量が85%未満である板状の粗カオリン粘土と、
b)直径1μm未満の平均粒径を有し、直径1μm未満の粒子質量が95%以上であり、直径0.5μm未満の粒子質量が85%を超える微細な含水カオリン粘土と、
を含む、混合含水カオリン粘土製品を含む、コーディエライト前駆体を混合、押し出し、および焼結することを含む、コーディエライトを作製する方法。 - 前記板状のカオリン粘土が、層間剥離されたカオリン粘土である、請求項15に記載の方法。
- 前記粗カオリン粘土成分と、前記微細なカオリン粘土成分との間の前記重量比が50:50から90:10の間である、請求項15に記載の方法。
