Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.その長さに沿って相互に締まり嵌め状態で接触する内側、及び外側の管状 部材から成る可撓性の回転シャフトにして、 該管状部材の少なくとも一方がワイヤーから成り、該ワイヤーの少なくとも一 部が、よじれを生じさせる傾向の力に露呈され、該部分が、超弾性合金から成り 、該回転可能なシャフトの前記部分の超弾性により顕著な機械的忠実度が実現さ れ、また、損傷抵抗性が向上することを特徴とする可撓性の回転シャフト。 2.中空のカテーテル・シャフトと、該中空のシャフトの基端から末端方向の 位置に配置された超音波トランスデューサと、基端の駆動機構から該中空のシャ フトを通じて前記トランスデューサまで伸長し、該中空のカテーテル内で回転し 且つ前記トランスデューサと回転可能な駆動関係にある駆動部材とから成る超音 波像形成カテーテルにして、 前記駆動部材が、細長の回転可能なシャフトから成り、該回転可能なシャフト が、少なくとも一つの金属コイルを緊密に巻いて形成され、該コイルの応力下に おける弾性変形率が約3%乃至9%の範囲にあり、前記コイルのよじれ撓みを防 止する効果のある、前記コイルの長さに亙って該コイルと関係付けられた拘束手 段とを備えることを特徴とする超音波像形成カテーテル。 3.請求の範囲第2項に記載の超音波像形成カテーテルにして、前記金属が超 弾性であることを特徴とする超音波像形成カテーテル。 4.請求の範囲第3項に記載の超音波像形成カテーテルにして、前記拘束手段 が、超弾性金属から成る緊密に巻いた第二のコイルを備え、該コイルが、反対方 向に巻き付けられ、該コイルの一方が他方のコイル内で締まり嵌め関係に同軸状 に配置されることを特徴とする超音波像形成カテーテル。 5.請求の範囲第2項に記載の超音波像形成カテーテルにして、前記コイルが 、剛性な重合体材料から成る緊密に囲繞するスリーブ内に配置されることを特徴 とする超音波像形成カテーテル。 6.請求の範囲第5項に記載の超音波像形成カテーテルにして、前記スリーブ が、前記コイルの周りで熱収縮状態にあることを特徴とする超音波像形成カテー テル。 7.請求の範囲第5項に記載の超音波像形成カテーテルにして、前記コイルが 、前記スリーブと締まり嵌め接触状態に膨張されることを特徴とする超音波像形 成カテーテル。 8.請求の範囲第2項に記載の超音波像形成カテーテルにして、前記トランス デューサと、基端の信号受信および発信装置との間で信号を伝達すべく、同軸状 の電気ケーブルが前記コイルを通じて伸長し、前記コイルがその相互の長さに沿 って前記コイルに接着剤で固着され、これにより、前記同軸ケーブルが前記コイ ルに対して応力伝達関係にあり、前記コイルの巻き懈けに抵抗する前記手段とし て機能することを特徴とする超音波像形成カテーテル。 9.請求の範囲第3項に記載の超音波像形成カテーテルにして、該超弾性コイ ルと内部の締まり嵌め接触状態に反発動作する反対方向に巻いたステンレス鋼コ イルが、前記超弾性コイルの内部に取り付けられることを特徴とする超音波像形 成カテーテル。 10.請求の範囲第2項に記載の超音波像形成カテーテルにして、前記拘束手段 が、応力抵抗性のある熱可塑性重合体の接着剤固着層を備えることを特徴とする 超音波像形成カテーテル。 11.請求の範囲第2項に記載の超音波像形成カテーテルにして、前記コイルが 、3乃至10本のフィラメントから成る多線状構造であることを特徴とする超音波 像形成カテーテル。 12.請求の範囲第2項に記載の超音波像形成カテーテルにして、前記コイルを 形成する前記ワイヤーが円形断面であることを特徴とする超音波像形成カテーテ ル。 13.請求の範囲第2項に記載の超音波像形成カテーテルにして、前記コイルを 形成する前記ワイヤーが楕円形の断面であることを特徴とする超音波像形成カテ ーテル。 14.請求の範囲第2項に記載の超音波像形成カテーテルにして、前記コイルを 形成する前記ワイヤーが矩形の断面であることを特徴とする超音波像形成カテー テル。 15.請求の範囲第2項に記載の超音波像形成カテーテルにして、前記コイルを 形成する前記ワイヤーの半径方向寸法が、約0.3048mm(約0.012インチ)乃至 約0.0254mm(約0.001インチ)の厚さであることを特徴とする超音波像形成カ テーテル。 16.超弾性材料からコイルを製造する方法にして、 潜在的な超弾性性質を有する連続的な長さのワイヤーを供給体から提供するこ とと、 下流の自由端を有するマンドレルの周りに前記ワイヤーを連続的に巻き付ける ことと、 該マンドレルにある間に、前記連続的な長さのワイヤー・コイルの一部を加熱 状態にし、該ワイヤーの応力を除去し且つ該ワイヤーを超弾性性質に変換するの に十分な熱を加えることと、前記コイルの冷却後に、 前記連続的な長さの超弾性コイルを前記マンドレルから除去することとを含む ことを特徴とするコイルの製造方法。 17.請求の範囲第16項に記載の方法にして、前記巻き付けが、一対の巻き付 け箇所により行われることを特徴とする方法。 18.請求の範囲第17項に記載の方法にして、前記巻き付けが、回転ディスク により行われることを特徴とする方法。 19.請求の範囲第18項に記載の方法にして、前記加熱及び巻き付けが、前記 連続的な長さのワイヤーが不活性気体チャンバ内にある間に行われることを特徴 とする方法。 20.身体の導管を通じて導入するのに有用な細長のトルク伝達組立体にして、 細長の回転可能なシャフトから成り、該シャフトが、応力下で約3%乃至9%の 範囲の弾性変形率を有する金属から成る少なくとも一つの緊密に巻いたコイルと 、前記コイルの前記長さに亙って該コイルと関係付けられ、前記コイルのよじれ 撓みを防止する拘束手段とを備えることを特徴とするトルク伝達組立体。 21.請求の範囲第20項に記載の組立体にして、前記金属が超弾性であること を特徴とする組立体。 22.請求の範囲第21項に記載の組立体にして、前記拘束手段が、超弾性金属 から成る緊密に巻いた第二のコイルを備え、前記コイルが、反対方向に巻かれ、 前記コイルの一方が、締まり嵌め関係にて該他方のコイル内で同軸状に配置され ることを特徴とする組立体。 23.請求の範囲第20項に記載の組立体にして、前記コイルが、剛性な重合体 材料の緊密に囲繞するスリーブ内に配置されることを特徴とする組立体。 24.請求の範囲第23項に記載の組立体にして、前記スリーブが、前記コイル の周りで熱収縮状態にあることを特徴とする組立体。 25.請求の範囲第23項に記載の組立体にして、前記コイルが、前記スリーブ と締まり嵌め接触状態となるように膨張されることを特徴とする組立体。 26.請求の範囲第20項に記載の組立体にして、弾性ケーブルが信号を伝達し 得るよう前記コイルを通じて伸長し、前記コイルがその相互にの長さに沿って前 記ケーブルに接着剤で固着され、これにより、前記ケーブルが前記コイルに関し て応力伝達関係となり、前記コイルの巻き懈けに抵抗する前記手段として機能す ることを特徴とする組立体。 27.請求の範囲第21項に記載の組立体にして、反対方向に巻かれたステンレ ス鋼コイルが前記超弾性コイルの内部に取り付けられ、該ステンレス鋼が、反発 動作して前記超弾性コイルと内部の締まり嵌め接触状態となることを特徴とする 組立体。 28.請求の範囲第20項に記載の組立体にして、前記拘束手段が、応力抵抗性 のある熱可塑性重合体の接着剤固着層を備えることを特徴とする組立体。 29.請求の範囲第20項に記載の組立体にして、前記コイルが、3乃至10本の フィラメントから成る多線状構造であることを特徴とする組立体。 30.請求の範囲第20項に記載の組立体にして、前記コイルを形成する前記ワ イヤーが円形断面であることを特徴とする組立体。 31.請求の範囲第20項に記載の組立体にして、前記コイルを形成する前記ワ イヤーが楕円形の断面であることを特徴とする組立体。 32.請求の範囲第20項に記載の組立体にして、前記コイルを形成する前記ワ イヤーが矩形の断面であることを特徴とする組立体。 33.請求の範囲第20項に記載の組立体にして、前記コイルを形成する前記ワ イヤーの半径方向寸法が、約0.3048mm(約0.012インチ)乃至約0.0254mm (約0.001インチ)の厚さであることを特徴とする組立体。
