Description
この出願は、2007年8月17日に出願された仮出願第60/956,509号に基づく。
この発明は、一般に血管インターベンショナル(介入)療法または血管手術用の埋め込み型デバイスに関し、より詳細には、柔軟性が改善されおよび/またはコイル全長に沿ったセカンダリ(二次)コイル形状性能を発揮するねじれパターンを持つコイルに関する。このコイルは、様々な血管介入療法で用いられるより複雑な形状のプライマリ(一次)コイルとして特に有用である。
Claims (12)
- 柔軟性のある金属ワイヤで形成された、縦軸に沿って細長いプライマリワインドコイルであって、
前記縦軸を横切るとともに縦軸に沿って歳差運動する横軸の方向に細長い非円形のコイル断面形状を有するように、前記縦軸の周りにらせん状に前記金属ワイヤが巻かれ、前記縦軸に沿って繰り返されるねじれたコイルパターンが形成されており、
前記縦軸に沿って歳差運動する曲げモーメントが当該プライマリワインドコイルに与えられている
ことを特徴とするプライマリワインドコイル。 - 前記プライマリワインドコイルは二重らせんの外部形状を有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載のプライマリワインドコイル。
- 前記プライマリワインドコイルの断面形状は、楕円形、長円形、および角の丸い略三角形からなるグループから選択されることを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載のプライマリワインドコイル。
- 前記プライマリワインドコイルは、円筒形、円錐形、球形、回転楕円体形状およびそれらの組合せからなるグループから選択されるセカンダリ形状を有するように形成されることを特徴とする請求項1ないし3のいずれかに記載のプライマリワインドコイル。
- 前記プライマリワインドコイルは、該プライマリワインドコイルの縦軸に沿った内部空間を有し、該プライマリワインドコイルの縦軸に沿った内部空間を通って延びる軸方向のストランド材料をさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項1ないし4のいずれかに記載のプライマリワインドコイル。
- 柔軟性のある金属ワイヤで形成された縦軸に沿って細長いプライマリワインドコイルから形成されるセカンダリワインドコイルであって、
前記縦軸を横切るとともに縦軸に沿って歳差運動する横軸の方向に細長い非円形のコイル断面形状を有するように、前記縦軸の周りにらせん状に前記金属ワイヤが巻かれ、前記縦軸に沿って繰り返されるねじれたコイルパターンが前記プライマリワインドコイルに形成されており、
前記縦軸に沿って歳差運動する曲げモーメントが前記プライマリワインドコイルに与えられており、
円筒形、円錐形、球形、回転楕円体およびそれらの組合せからなるグループから選択されるセカンダリ形状を有するように形成されることを特徴とするセカンダリワインドコイル。 - 前記プライマリワインドコイルは二重らせんの外部形状を有することを特徴とする請求項6に記載のセカンダリワインドコイル。
- 前記プライマリワインドコイルの断面形状は、楕円形、長円形、および角の丸い略三角形からなるグループから選択されることを特徴とする請求項6または7に記載のセカンダリワインドコイル。
- 前記プライマリワインドコイルは、該プライマリワインドコイルの縦軸に沿った内部空間を有し、該プライマリワインドコイルの縦軸に沿った内部空間を通って延びる軸方向のストランド材料をさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項6ないし8のいずれかに記載のセカンダリワインドコイル。
- 縦軸に沿って細長いプライマリワインドコイルを形成する方法であって、
非円形断面を持つ外部表面を有し、該非円形断面の軸が所定のパターンで長手方向にねじれているマンドレルを提供するステップと、
前記マンドレルの周りに柔軟性のある金属ワイヤを巻き付けて、該マンドレルの外部表面の形状に対応するねじれた形状を有するプライマリワインドコイルを形成するステップと、
を含み、
前記プライマリワインドコイルは、前記縦軸を横切るとともに縦軸に沿って歳差運動する横軸の方向に細長い非円形のコイル断面形状を有するように、前記縦軸の周りにらせん状に前記金属ワイヤが巻かれ、前記縦軸に沿って繰り返されるねじれたコイルパターンが形成されており、
前記縦軸に沿って歳差運動する曲げモーメントが前記プライマリワインドコイルに与えられる
ことを特徴とする方法。 - 円筒形、円錐形、球形および回転楕円体形状からなるグループから選択されるセカンダリ形状を有するように前記プライマリワインドコイルを形成するステップをさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項10に記載の方法。
- 前記プライマリワインドコイルは該プライマリワインドコイルの縦軸に沿った内部空間を有しており、該プライマリワインドコイルの縦軸に沿ってプライマリワインドの内部空間の中にストランドの材料を挿入するステップをさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項10または11に記載の方法。
