Description
また、特許文献2も、低コストで高性能な焼結および樹脂結合磁石に関するものである。すなわち、Ce−La−(ジジム)−Fe−BにCoを置換した組成であり、保磁力7.9kOeが得られている。
また、特許文献3も、低コストで高性能な焼結および樹脂結合磁石に関するものである。すなわち、Ce−La−(ジジム)−FeにM元素を置換した組成であり、保磁力7.5kOe以上が得られている。
いずれも10kOe程度であるNd−T−B系の保磁力よりも著しく低く、従来のNd−T−B系磁石の代替とすることは困難である。
本実施形態に係る保護膜は特に限定されないが、特に電解めっきによる保護膜を用いるのが好ましい。電解めっきの材質としては、Ni、Ni−P、Cu、Zn、Cr、Sn、Alのいずれかを用いることができるし、他の材質を用いることもできる。特に、CeはNiとCe3Niを形成するなど、Niとの親和性が高いことから、めっき膜としてはNiが最も好ましい。また、これらの材質を複層として被覆することもできる。電解めっきによる保護膜は本実施形態に係る典型的な形態であるが、他の手法による保護膜を設けることもできる。他の手法による保護膜としては、無電解めっき、クロメート処理をはじめとする化成処理及び樹脂塗装膜のいずれか又は組み合せが実用的である。保護膜の厚さは、希土類焼結磁石本体のサイズ、要求される耐食性のレベル等によって変動させる必要があるが、1〜100μmの範囲で適宜設定すればよい。望ましい保護膜の厚さは1〜50μmである。
本実施形態のR−T−B系磁石の製造においては、まず、所望の組成を有するR−T−B系磁石が得られるような原料合金を準備する。原料合金は、真空又は不活性ガス、望ましくはAr雰囲気中でストリップキャスト法、その他公知の溶解法により作製することができる。ストリップキャスト法は、原料金属をArガス雰囲気などの非酸化雰囲気中で溶解して得た溶湯を回転するロールの表面に噴出させる。ロールで急冷された溶湯は、薄板または薄片(鱗片)状に急冷凝固される。この急冷凝固された合金は、結晶粒径が1〜50μmの均質な組織を有している。原料合金は、ストリップキャスト法に限らず、高周波誘導溶解等の溶解法によって得ることができる。なお、溶解後の偏析を防止するため、例えば水冷銅板に傾注して凝固させることができる。また、還元拡散法によって得られた合金を原料合金として用いることもできる。
Niの電解めっきに用いるめっき浴としては、塩化ニッケルを含有しないワット浴(すなわち、硫酸ニッケルおよびほう酸を主成分とする)、スルファミン酸浴、ほうフッ化浴、臭化ニッケル浴などが挙げられる。ただし、この場合、陽極の溶解が少なくなるため、ニッケルイオンを浴に補充することが好ましい。ニッケルイオンは、硫酸ニッケルあるいは臭化ニッケルの溶液として補充するのが好ましい。
原料合金の組成は、14.9mol%R−6.43mol%B−0.57mol%Co−0.06mol%Cu−0.44mol%Al―Fe.balとし、Rをmol比でR1:Ce=100:0〜10:90とした。原料となる金属あるいは合金を前記組成となるように配合し、ストリップキャスト法により原料合金薄板を溶解、鋳造した。
Claims (3)
- R−T−B系焼結磁石(ただし、RはCeとR1を必須し、R1はCeを含まない希土類元素の少なくとも1種であり、TはFe又はFe及びCoを必須とする1種以上の遷移金属元素)であって、コア部と前記コアを被覆するシェル部を有する主相粒子を含み、前記コア部におけるR1とCeの質量濃度をそれぞれαNd、αCe、前記シェル部におけるR1とCeの質量濃度をそれぞれβR1、βCe、としたときに、前記シェル部におけるR1とCeの質量濃度比率(βR1/βCe=B)と、前記コア部におけるR1とCeの質量濃度比率(αR1/αCe=A)の比(B/A)が1.10以上であり、
前記希土類元素(R)中のR1とCeとの含有割合は、mol比で50:50〜90:10であることを特徴とするR−T−B系焼結磁石。 - 請求項1に記載のR−T−B系焼結磁石であって、B/Aが1.4以上であることを特徴とするR−T−B系焼結磁石。
- 請求項1に記載のR−T−B系焼結磁石であって、R1はNd、Pr、Dy、Ho、Tbの少なくとも1種であることを特徴とするR−T−B系焼結磁石。
