Description
本実施の形態では、開示する発明の一態様に係る、シースルー機能を有する表示装置について図1乃至図3を用いて説明する。
本実施の形態では、実施の形態1に示すシースルー機能を有する表示装置とは異なる態様の表示装置について図4を用いて説明する。
本実施の形態では、実施の形態1に示すシースルー機能を有する表示装置とは異なる態様の表示装置について図5を用いて説明する。
本実施の形態では、先の実施の形態に示すシースルー機能を有する表示装置に設けられたシャッターの構造例について図6を用いて説明する。
本実施の形態では、先の実施の形態に示すシースルー機能を有する表示装置に設けられたアクティブマトリクス型の第1の表示部の構造例について図7(A)および図7(B)を用いて説明する。
本実施の形態では、先の実施の形態に示すシースルー機能を有する表示装置に設けられたパッシブマトリクス型の第1の表示部の構造例について図8(A)、図8(B)および図8(C)を用いて説明する。
本実施の形態では、先の実施の形態に示すシースルー機能を有する表示装置に設けられたアクティブマトリクス型の第2の表示部の構造例について図9(A)および図9(B)を用いて説明する。
本実施の形態では、先の実施の形態に示すシースルー機能を有する表示装置に設けられたパッシブマトリクス型の第2の表示部の構造例について図10(A)および図10(B)を用いて説明する。
本実施の形態では、先の実施の形態で説明した表示装置の応用例について図11を用いて説明する。

Claims (4)
- 発光素子を含む第1の表示部と、
液晶素子を含む第2の表示部と、
前記第1の表示部と前記第2の表示部の間に設けられたMEMSシャッターと、
を有し、
前記MEMSシャッターは、
開口部を有する遮光層と、
前記開口部を遮光することができる機能を有する可動遮光層と、
を有し、
前記発光素子は、透光性を有する第1の導電膜と、透光性を有する第2の導電膜と、前記第1の導電膜と前記第2の導電膜の間の発光層と、を有し、
前記液晶素子は、透光性を有する第3の導電膜と、透光性を有する第4の導電膜と、前記第3の導電膜と前記第4の導電膜の間の液晶層と、を有し、
前記液晶素子は、前記開口部を介して、前記発光素子と重なる領域を有することを特徴とする表示装置。 - 請求項1において、
前記開口部に前記可動遮光層を重ならせず、前記第1の表示部を前記第2の表示部のバックライトとして用いることにより、前記第2の表示部をカラー表示させることができることを特徴とする表示装置。 - 請求項1において、
前記第2の表示部は、白表示を行う表示モードと、シースルー表示を行う表示モードと、を有することを特徴とする表示装置。 - 請求項1乃至3のいずれか一項において、
前記第2の表示部は、光を散乱させる第1の状態と、光を透過させる第2の状態と、を切り替えることができる機能を有することを特徴とする表示装置。
