一般に電池は、負極、正極、セパレータ、および電解質を含む。負極および正極はセパレータを間に挟む。電解質はセパレータ内に存し、負極および正極と電気化学的に連通している。次に、これらの構成要素はパッケージ内に密封される。本電池の構成要素については、例えば、非特許文献1および非特許文献2に記載されているものとして知られている。
上述のコーティングセパレータの製造では、混合物が調製される。混合物は、たとえばコーティング、浸漬、噴霧など、どの従来の方法で膜に塗布してもよい。好ましくは混合物は、両側ディップコーティング工程によって塗布される。第一の溶媒は好ましくは、熱の使用なしに蒸発させられる。その後、第二の溶媒は好ましくは、熱の印加により乾燥器内で蒸発させられる。コーティングセパレータの抵抗の均一性は、電池製造者にとって最も重要である。マクマリン数によって測定されるように、抵抗の均一性は、コーティング工程中の相対湿度(%RH)を制御することによって制御される。%RHが45%以下、好ましくは15〜45%、および最も好ましくは38〜44%である場合に、コーティング密度が約0.25mg/cm2で、マクマリン数(マクマリン数の議論については特許文献38を参照、参照により本明細書に組み入れられている)が5〜12、好ましくは5〜6の範囲内に制御されることが決定されている。
Claims (8)
- リチウムポリマー電池用の電池セパレータを作成するための方法であって、
微孔性膜を供給するステップと、
ゲル形成ポリマー、第一の溶媒、第二の溶媒および水を含む混合物を供給するステップであって、第一の溶媒が第二の溶媒よりも揮発性であり、前記第二の溶媒がゲル形成ポリマーに孔を形成するのに適しており、前記水の前記第二の溶媒に対する比が、0.25:1〜2:1の範囲であるステップと、
微孔性膜の少なくとも1つの面に混合物をコーティングするステップと、
熱の使用なしに第一の溶媒を蒸発させるステップであって、それによりゲル形成ポリマーおよび孔を形成する第二の溶媒の非多孔性コーティングによってコーティングされた微孔性膜を形成するステップと、
熱を使用して第二の溶媒を蒸発させるステップであって、それによりゲル形成ポリマーの多孔性コーティングによってコーティングされた微孔性膜を形成するステップと、
を含む方法。 - 前記コーティングが浸漬コーティングを含む、請求項1の方法。
- 前記コーティングするステップにおいて、相対湿度(%RH)を15〜45%の範囲に制御することを含む、請求項1の方法。
- 前記コーティングするステップおよび前記第二の溶媒を蒸発させるステップにおいて、相対湿度(%RH)を15〜44%の範囲に制御することを含む、請求項1の方法。
- 前記ゲル形成ポリマーが、ポリフッ化ビニリデン、ポリウレタン、ポリエチレンオキシド、ポリプロピレンオキシド、ポリアクリロニトリル、ポリアクリルアミド、ポリメチルアクリレート、ポリメチルメタクリレート、ポリビニルアセテート、ポリビニルピロリドン、ポリテトラエチレングリコールジアクリレート、これらのポリマーのコポリマー、および、その混合物からなる群より選択される、請求項1の方法。
- 前記ゲル形成ポリマーが、ポリフッ化ビニリデンとヘキサフルオロプロピレンのコポリマーである、請求項1の方法。
- 前記第一の溶媒が、テトラヒドロフラン、メチルエチルケトン、アセトン、低分子量グリム、およびその混合物からなる群より選択される、請求項1の方法。
- 前記第二の溶媒が、ブタノール、プロパノール、イソプロパノール、およびその混合物からなる群より選択される、請求項1の方法。
