1.青色発光素子と、青色発光素子の発光する光を受けて、青色の補色を発光する蛍光体とを組み合わせた第1のタイプの発光素子。
2.青色発光素子と、青色発光素子の発光する光を受けて、赤色を発光する赤色発光蛍光体と緑色を発光する緑色発光蛍光体とを組み合わせた第2のタイプの発光素子。
3.紫外線発光素子と、紫外線発光素子の発光する光を受けて、青色を発光する青色発光蛍光体、緑色を発光する緑色発光蛍光体および赤色を発光する赤色発光蛍光体とを組み合わせた第3のタイプの発光素子がある。
1.青色発光素子と、青色発光素子の発光する青色を受けて青色の補色となる蛍光を発光する蛍光体とからなる白色発光素子であって、更に、ストロンチウム(Sr)、アルミニウム(Al)、シリコン(Si)、ユーロピウム(Eu)、窒素(N)からなり、Sr1-xAlSi4N7:Eux (0.001<x≦0.15)で表される赤色発光窒化物蛍光体を有することを特徴とする白色発光素子。
2.青色発光素子と、青色発光素子の発する青色を受けて、緑色を発する緑色発光蛍光体及び赤色を発する赤色蛍光体とを含む白色発光素子であって、赤色発光蛍光体が、ストロンチウム(Sr)、アルミニウム(Al)、シリコン(Si)、ユーロピウム(Eu)、窒素(N)からなり、Sr1-xAlSi4N7:Eux (0.001<x≦0.15)で表される赤色発光窒化物蛍光体からなることを特徴とする白色発光素子。
3.紫外線発光素子と、紫外線発光素子の発光する光を受けて、青色を発光する青色発光蛍光体、緑色の発光をする緑色発光蛍光体及び赤色を発する赤色発光蛍光体とを含む白色発光素子であって、赤色発光蛍光体が、ストロンチウム(Sr)、アルミニウム(Al)、シリコン(Si)、ユーロピウム(Eu)、窒素(N)からなり、Sr1-xAlSi4N7:Eux (0.001<x≦0.15)で表される赤色発光窒化物蛍光体からなることを特徴とする白色発光素子である。
1.紫外線を発光する発光素子、例えば、紫外線LEDや紫外線レーザーからの紫外線によって効率良く赤色発光する。
2.青色を発光する発光素子、例えば、青色LEDや青色レーザーからの青色光を効率よく赤色発光することができる。

- ストロンチウム(Sr)、アルミニウム(Al)、シリコン(Si)、ユーロピウム(Eu)、窒素(N)からなり、Sr1-xAlSi4N7:Eux (0.001<x≦0.15)で表されることを特徴とする赤色発光窒化物蛍光体。
- 青色発光素子と、前記青色発光素子の発光する青色を受けて前記青色の補色となる蛍光を発光する蛍光体とからなる白色発光素子であって、
更に、ストロンチウム(Sr)、アルミニウム(Al)、シリコン(Si)、ユーロピウム(Eu)、窒素(N)からなり、Sr1-xAlSi4N7:Eux (0.001<x≦0.15)で表される赤色発光窒化物蛍光体を有することを特徴とする白色発光素子。 - 青色発光素子と、前記青色発光素子の発する青色を受けて、緑色を発する緑色発光蛍光体及び赤色を発する赤色蛍光体とを含む白色発光素子であって、
