図1Aは、第1(26)および第2(28)の電界紡糸されたポリマー繊維含有フィルタマットの間に配置された少なくとも1つの粗い多孔質不織中間層(25)を含む複合媒体を含む流体濾過構造(20)の例示的実施形態を示す。
本発明の電界紡糸されたナノ繊維としての使用に適したポリマーの特定の例示的な実施形態は、熱可塑性ポリマーおよび熱硬化性ポリマーを含む。適切なポリマーの非限定的例としては、ナイロン、ポリイミド、脂肪族ポリアミド、芳香族ポリアミド、ポリスルホン、セルロース、酢酸セルロース、ポリエーテルスルホン、ポリウレタン、ポリ(尿素ウレタン)、ポリベンゾイミダゾール、ポリエーテルイミド、ポリアクリロニトリル、ポリ(エチレンテレフタレート)、ポリプロピレン、ポリアニリン、ポリ(エチレンオキシド)、ポリ(エチレンナフタレート)、ポリ(ブチレンテレフタレート)、スチレンブタジエンゴム、ポリスチレン、ポリ(塩化ビニル)、ポリ(ビニルアルコール)、ポリ(酢酸ビニル)、ポリ(フッ化ビニリデン)、ポリ(ビニルブチレン)、それらのコポリマー、誘導体化合物、ブレンドおよび組み合わせが挙げられる。適切なポリアミド縮合ポリマーには、ナイロン−6;ナイロン−4,6;ナイロン−6,6;ナイロン6,6−6,10;そのコポリマー、および他の線状の一般的に脂肪族のナイロン組成物等が挙げられる。

粗い中間層上に集められたまたは堆積された流体フィルタ層は、単層または多層構成のいずれかである。
「坪量」はASTM D−3776により決定され、これは参照により本明細書に組み込まれ、g/m2で報告される。
実施例1は、この発明の特定の実施形態に従った電界紡糸のためのナイロン溶液を調製するための例示的な手順を提供する。

Claims (16)
- 対向する第1および第2の面を有する多孔質中間層、
中間層の第1の面上に配置された第1の繊維含有フィルタ層、および
中間層の第2の面上に配置された第2の繊維含有フィルタ層
を含み、第1および第2の繊維含有フィルタ層の繊維は異なる繊維径を有し、各繊維含有フィルタ層は異なる細孔径等級を有し、中間層は第1または第2の繊維含有フィルタ層のいずれかよりも粗い細孔径を有する複合媒体。 - 第1および第2の繊維含有フィルタ層の繊維は、熱可塑性ポリマーおよび熱硬化性ポリマーからなる群から選択されるポリマー材料である請求項1に記載の媒体。
- 繊維がナノ繊維である請求項2に記載の媒体。
- 中間層が不織布を含む請求項1に記載の媒体。
- 不織布がポリマーナノ繊維を含む請求項4に記載の媒体。
- ポリマーナノ繊維がポリプロピレンから作られる請求項5に記載の媒体。
- 第1の繊維含有フィルタ層のナノ繊維は、約10nmから約1,000nmの繊維直径を有し、第2の繊維含有フィルタ層のナノ繊維は、約10nmから約1,000nmの繊維直径を有する請求項3に記載の媒体。
- 第1および第2の繊維含有フィルタ層が、電界紡糸されたナノ繊維マットを含む請求項1に記載の媒体。
- ナノ繊維が、熱可塑性ポリマーおよび熱硬化性ポリマーからなる群から選択されるポリマー材料である請求項8に記載の媒体。
- ナノ繊維が、熱可塑性ポリマー、熱硬化性ポリマー、ナイロン、ポリイミド、脂肪族ポリアミド、芳香族ポリアミド、ポリスルホン、セルロース、酢酸セルロース、ポリエーテルスルホン、ポリウレタン、ポリ(尿素ウレタン)、ポリベンズイミダゾール、ポリエーテルイミド、ポリアクリロニトリル、ポリ(エチレンテレフタレート)、ポリプロピレン、ポリアニリン、ポリ(エチレンオキシド)、ポリ(エチレンナフタレート)、ポリ(ブチレンテレフタレート)、スチレンブタジエンゴム、ポリスチレン、ポリ(塩化ビニル)、ポリ(ビニルアルコール)、ポリ(酢酸ビニル)、ポリ(フッ化ビニリデン)、ポリ(ビニルブチレン)、それらのコポリマーおよび組み合わせからなる群から選択されるポリマー材料である請求項8に記載の媒体。
- ナノ繊維が、ナイロン−6、ナイロン−6,6、ナイロン6,6−6,10、ナイロン−6コポリマー、ナイロン−6,6コポリマー、ナイロン−6,6−6,10コポリマー、およびそれらの混合物からなる群から選択されるポリマー材料である請求項8に記載の媒体。
- 第1の繊維含有フィルタ層は約1μmから約1,000μmの厚さを有し、第2の繊維含有フィルタ層は約1μmから約1,000μmの厚さを有する請求項1に記載の媒体。
- 第1および第2の繊維含有フィルタ層は、グリッド付きフィルタ、カリキュラ型フィルタ、円板型フィルタ、プリーツ型フィルタ、デプスフィルタおよびそれらの組み合わせからなる群から選択される請求項1に記載の媒体。
- 中間層の平均細孔径が、中間層のいずれかの面の第1または第2の繊維含有フィルタ層の平均細孔径よりも約2から100倍大きい請求項1に記載の媒体。
- 入口、濾液出口、残留物出口、および請求項1に記載の複合媒体を有するホルダーを含み、複合媒体はホルダー内に配置され、ホルダーを上流区画と下流区画とに分離する流体濾過装置。
- プラスチックホルダー、実験装置、シリンジ、マイクロタイタープレート、金属ホルダー、フィルターカートリッジ、およびカートリッジからなる群から選択される、請求項15に記載の流体濾過装置。
