スルホン(例えば、ジメチルスルホン)、有機スルホキシド(例えば、ジメチルスルホキシド、又はテトラメチレンスルホキシド)、及び、これらの派生物、並びに、これらの混合物を含む。本開示の他の実施形態では、ゲート剤又は転写物質は、1つ以上の界面活性剤(例えば、ポロキサマー又はエトキシ化アセチレンジオール)を含む。使用に適するポロキサマーは、化学式HO(CH2CH2O)x(CH2CHCH3O)y(CH2CH2O)zHにより表すことができ、この場合に、x,y及びzは2〜130の範囲の整数を表し、特に、15〜100の値を取る。また、xとzとは同一の値を取るが、これらはyから独立して選択される。これらの中では、ポロキサマー188(x=75,y=30及びz=75)が使用可能であり、これは、BASF社からLutrol(登録商標)F 68(あるいはPluronic(登録商標)F 68)という商品名で入手可能である。また、ポロキサマー185(x=19,y=30及びz=19)が使用可能であり、これは、ISP社からLubrajel(登録商標)WAという商品名で入手可能である。また、ポロキサマー235(x=27,y=39及びz=27)が使用可能であり、これは、BASF社からPluronic(登録商標)F 85という商品名で入手可能である。また、ポロキサマー238(x=97,=39及びz=97)が使用可能であり、これは、BASF社からPluronic(登録商標)F 88という商品名で入手可能である。このタイプにおける別の特定の界面活性剤は、BASF社製のPluronic(登録商標)123として知られる、ポリ(エチレンオキシド)−ポリ(プロピレンオキシド)−ポリ(エチレンオキシド)ブロックコポリマーである。加えて、BASF社製のPluronic(登録商標)127(ポロキサマー407)という商品名で知られているトリブロックコポリマー(x=106,y=70及びz=106)が使用可能である。更に、例を少し挙げると、ポロキサマー101、108、124、181、182、184、217、231、234、237、282、288、331、333、334、335、338、401、402、及び403が、それぞれ、ゲート剤に含まれ得る。使用に適するエトキシ化アセチレンジオールは、3,5−ジメチル−1−ヘキシン−3−オール(Air Product社製のSurfynol(登録商標)61)、及び/又は、2,4,7,9−テトラ−メチル−5−デシン−4,7−ジオール(Air Product社製のSurfynol(登録商標)104)を特に含む。使用に適する他の界面活性剤は、臭化ヘキサデシルトリメチルアンモニウム(CTAB)、ポリオキシアルキレン・エーテル、ポリ(オキシエチレン)セチル・エーテル(例えば、Atlas Chemicals社製のBrij(登録商標)56、又は、Brij(登録商標)58)を含む。この種の界面活性剤は、各分子の一端に親水基を有する一方、その他端に親油基を有する。1つ以上の界面活性剤をゲート剤又は主物質に添加することにより、各溶液の表面張力特性が改善される。これにより、高度な液滴配置制御が提供され、そして、高品質な印刷イメージが生成される。
Claims (37)
- 主物質を転写する方法であって、
受容面と接触するイメージ化表面に、前記主物質を区別なく塗布するステップと、
前記イメージ化表面が前記主物質を前記受容面に付着させるパターンを画定するゲート剤を、前記受容面における選択可能領域に塗布するステップと、
前記パターンに基づいて、前記主物質の第1の部分を、前記イメージ化表面から前記受容面に転写するステップと、
を含んで構成される方法。 - 前記受容面を回転させるステップを更に含んで構成される請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記受容面は、円筒状であり、任意的に、前記イメージ化表面は、円筒状である請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記ゲート剤を塗布するステップは、前記主物質の少なくとも第2の部分の転写をブロックするゲート剤を塗布するステップを含んで構成される請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記ゲート剤を塗布するステップは、前記転写するステップを補助するゲート剤を塗布するステップを含んで構成される請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記主物質の前記第1の部分を転写するステップは、前記イメージ化表面と前記受容面との中間に位置する追加の表面に、前記主物質の前記第1の部分を転写するステップを含んで構成される請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記ゲート剤を塗布するステップは、水溶性物質を含んで構成されるゲート剤を塗布するステップを含んで構成される請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記ゲート剤を塗布するステップは、ゲルを含んで構成されるゲート剤を塗布するステップを含んで構成される請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記主物質を塗布するステップは、前記ゲート剤の上面に前記主物質を塗布するステップを含んで構成される請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記受容面、前記イメージ化表面、又は、これらの組み合わせ、をクリーニングするステップを含んで構成される請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記クリーニングするステップは、前記主物質の少なくとも一部を除去するステップを含んで構成される請求項10に記載の方法。
- 前記クリーニングするステップは、前記ゲート剤の少なくとも一部を除去するステップを含んで構成される請求項10に記載の方法。
- 前記主物質を塗布するステップは、インキ、薬剤、治療用物質、診断用物質、インキ以外のマーキング用物質、生物由来材料、生体適合性ポリマー、導電性物質もしくは電気絶縁性物質、熱伝導性物質もしくは断熱性物質、官能性ポリマー、接着剤、三次元相互接続構造を含んで構成される物質、光学接着剤、紫外線硬化性ポリマー、又は、発光ダイオード用材料もしくは磁性材料を含んで構成される物質、のうち少なくとも1つである主物質を塗布するステップを含んで構成される請求項1に記載の方法。
- 受容面と接触するイメージ化表面に、主物質を区別なく付着させる主物質用塗布装置と、
前記イメージ化表面が前記主物質を前記受容面に付着させる領域を画定するゲート剤を、前記受容面における選択可能領域に付着させるゲート剤用塗布装置と、
前記ゲート剤を付着させる前記ゲート剤用塗布装置を制御するコントローラと、
を含んで構成される印刷システム。 - 前記受容面は、回転する請求項14に記載の装置。
- 前記受容面は、円筒状であり、任意的に、前記イメージ化表面は、円筒状である請求項14に記載の装置。
- 前記ゲート剤は、前記主物質の少なくとも第2の部分の転写をブロックする請求項14に記載の装置。
- 前記ゲート剤は、前記主物質の第1の部分が前記受容面に転写されることを補助する請求項14に記載の装置。
- 前記主物質の第1の部分は、前記イメージ化表面と前記受容面との中間に位置する追加の表面に転写される請求項14に記載の装置。
- 前記ゲート剤は、水溶性物質を含む請求項14に記載の装置。
- 前記ゲート剤は、ゲルを含む請求項14に記載の装置。
- 前記主物質は、前記ゲート剤の上面に塗布される請求項14に記載の装置。
- 前記受容面、前記イメージ化表面、又は、これらの組み合わせ、をクリーニングする手段を含んで構成される請求項14に記載の装置。
- 前記クリーニング手段は、前記主物質の少なくとも一部を除去する手段を含んで構成される請求項23に記載の装置。
- 前記クリーニング手段は、前記ゲート剤の少なくとも一部を除去する手段を含んで構成される請求項24に記載の装置。
- 主物質を転写する方法であって、
前記主物質を、表面に塗布するステップと、
前記主物質における選択可能部分の上面に、ゲート剤を塗布するステップと、
前記ゲート剤によって覆われない前記主物質の第1の部分を、前記表面から受容面に転写するステップと、
を含んで構成される方法。 - 前記受容面を回転させるステップを更に含んで構成される請求項26に記載の方法。
- 前記受容面は、円筒状であり、任意的に、前記表面は、円筒状である請求項26に記載の方法。
- 前記主物質の前記第1の部分を転写するステップは、前記表面と前記受容面との中間に位置する追加の表面に、前記主物質の前記第1の部分を転写するステップを含んで構成される請求項26に記載の方法。
- 前記ゲート剤を塗布するステップは、水溶性物質を含んで構成されるゲート剤を塗布するステップを含んで構成される請求項26に記載の方法。
- 前記主物質を塗布するステップは、インキ、薬剤、治療用物質、診断用物質、インキ以外のマーキング用物質、生物由来材料、生体適合性ポリマー、導電性物質もしくは電気絶縁性物質、熱伝導性物質もしくは断熱性物質、官能性ポリマー、接着剤、三次元相互接続構造を含んで構成される物質、光学接着剤、紫外線硬化性ポリマー、又は、発光ダイオード用材料もしくは磁性材料を含んで構成される物質、のうち少なくとも1つである主物質を塗布するステップを含んで構成される請求項26に記載の方法。
- 主物質を転写する装置であって、
前記主物質を、表面に塗布する塗布装置と、
前記主物質における選択可能部分の上面に、ゲート剤を付着させる付着装置と、
前記ゲート剤によって覆われない前記主物質の第1の部分を、前記表面から受容面に転写する手段と、
を含んで構成される装置。 - 前記受容面は、回転する請求項32に記載の装置。
- 前記受容面は、円筒状であり、任意的に、前記表面は、円筒状である請求項32に記載の装置。
- 前記主物質の前記第1の部分を転写する手段は、前記表面と前記受容面との中間に位置する追加の表面に、前記主物質の前記第1の部分を転写する手段を含んで構成される請求項32に記載の装置。
- 前記付着装置は、水溶性物質を含んで構成されるゲート剤を付着させる請求項32に記載の装置。
- 前記付着装置を制御するコントローラを含んで構成される請求項32に記載の装置。
