Abstract
Description
前記ゴム変性スチレン系共重合体は、スチレン系重合体からなるマトリックス中に粒子状に分散したゴム状重合体を含む。前記重合方法としては、塊状重合、懸濁重合、乳化重合が利用できる。好ましくは、塊状重合法が利用される。塊状重合時、ゴム状重合体をスチレン系単量体に溶解させた後、この混合物を攪拌し、これに重合開始剤を添加して重合する。
本発明においては、難燃性を与えるために、樹脂に難燃剤を一定比率で添加する。難燃剤は、ハロゲン化合物、リン系化合物及びエポキシ化合物からなる群から選択される少なくとも1種の化合物であってよい。

で表され、500〜4000の範囲の分子量を有する、エポキシオリゴマーである。
本発明において採用する難燃助剤は、酸化アンチモン、亜鉛化合物、ホウ酸バリウム、酸化ジルコニウム、タルク及びマイカからなる群から選択される少なくとも1種であってよい。
本発明においては、高い耐衝撃性を有しながら、多様な加工条件下でも外観不良を生じないスチレン含有グラフト耐衝撃性改良剤を適用する。このスチレン含有グラフト共重合体は、高分子重合を通じて平均粒径が500〜4000Åに調節された共役ジエン系ゴムにスチレンをグラフトさせた共重合体である。前記共役ジエン系ゴムの重合及びスチレングラフト反応は、塊状重合、懸濁重合、または乳化重合により行うことができるが、乳化重合により行うことが好ましい。
本発明の難燃性スチレン系樹脂組成物は、用途に応じて、滑剤、熱安定剤、酸化防止剤、光安定剤、滴下防止剤、顔料及び無機充填剤からなる群から選択される少なくとも1種の添加剤をさらに含むことができる。
ゴム平均粒径が5μmである高シスポリブタジエン 7.0重量部、スチレン単量体 73.9重量部、エチルベンゼン 19.07重量部、及び開始剤のt−ブチルペルオキシイソプロピルカーボネート 0.03重量部を混合した溶液を連続的に移送しながら重合した。第1の反応器は、攪拌85rpm、温度126℃で、第2の反応器は、攪拌20rpm、温度138℃で、第3の反応器は、攪拌15rpm、温度150℃で、第4の反応器は、攪拌8rpm、温度155℃で重合した。上記のように重合した後、最終反応器から得られた重合液を2段階の揮発成分除去装置を通過させて未反応単量体及び溶媒を除去した。この際、2段階の揮発成分除去装置の入口で粘度100cstの液状パラフィンを0.1重量部添加した。揮発成分除去装置を通過する溶液を押出機でペレット化して、ゴム変性スチレン系共重合体(HIPS1)を得た。
*アイゾッド(Izod)衝撃強度:ASTM D256試験方法により1/8インチノッチ試験片に対して評価した。
*流動性(MFR):ASTM D1238試験方法により200℃、5kg荷重の条件で評価した。
*引張強度(TS):ASTM D638試験方法により、5cm/分の速度条件で評価した。
*屈曲強度(FS):ASTM D790試験方法により、1.5cm/分の速度条件で評価した。
*落球衝撃強度(FD):ASTM D3763試験方法により、厚さ3.2mm、幅80mmの正方形の試験片を使用し、落下錘は、重量3.729kg、直径12.5mmのものを使用した。落下錘を30cm高さから落として、最初のクラックが生じる時点までの衝撃吸収エネルギーを評価した。
*外観(FM):樹脂を射出成形機内に250℃、15分間滞留させた後、射出して、成形物表面の流痕を肉眼で観察して評価した。判定基準は、◎(優秀)、○(普通)、△(劣悪)である。
*難燃性:UL−94による垂直試験法にしたがって、1/16インチ厚で評価した。
表1に提示したような組成で、実施例1と同様な方法により、スチレン含有グラフト共重合体をそれぞれ1及び5重量部添加して樹脂を製造した後、これらの物性を評価し、その結果を表3に示した。
表2に提示したような組成で、実施例1と同様な方法により、ゴム状重合体のゴム平均粒径500Å、ゴム含有量70重量%であるスチレン含有グラフト共重合体(SB2) 3重量部、平均粒径2000Å、ゴム含有量50重量%であるスチレン含有グラフト共重合体(SB3) 3重量部、平均粒径4000Å、ゴム含有量70重量%であるスチレン含有グラフト共重合体(SB4) 3重量部をそれぞれ添加して樹脂を製造した。これらの物性を評価して、その結果を表4に示した。
表1に提示した組成で、比較例1では、スチレン含有グラフト共重合体を適用せず、比較例2及び3では、スチレン系及びオレフィン系エラストマーからなるブロック共重合体(SBS)としてTufprene125(Asahi社、日本)を、それぞれ1及び3重量部添加して、比較例4及び5では、ブロック共重合体(Tufprene125)を水素化したスチレン系及びオレフィン系エラストマーからなるブロック共重合体(SEBS)としてTuftec H1031(Asahi社、日本)を、それぞれ1及び3重量部添加して、実施例1と同様な方法により樹脂を製造した。これらの物性を評価して、その結果を表3に示した。
Claims (13)
- ゴム変性スチレン系共重合体ベース樹脂 100重量部に対し、
難燃剤 1〜30重量部;
難燃助剤 0.5〜15重量部;及び
スチレン含有グラフト共重合体 0.1〜15重量部、
を含む、高い耐衝撃性を有する難燃性スチレン系樹脂組成物。 - 前記ゴム変性スチレン系共重合体ベース樹脂は、スチレン系化合物重合体、またはスチレン系化合物と共重合可能な化合物を共重合した共重合体、を含むマトリックス中にゴム状重合体が粒子状に分散されたものである、請求項1に記載の樹脂組成物。
- 前記難燃剤が、ハロゲン化合物、リン系化合物及びエポキシ化合物からなる群から選択される少なくとも1種の化合物である、請求項1に記載の樹脂組成物。
- 前記ハロゲン化合物が、テトラブロモビスフェノールA(TBBA)、TBBA系フェノキシ樹脂、TBBA系カーボネートオリゴマー、 臭素化エポキシオリゴマー、オクタブロモジフェニルオキシド、デカブロモジフェニルオキシド、トリブロモフェノキシエタン、ヘキサブロモジフェノキシエタン、デカブロモジフェニルエタン、エチレンビス(テトラブロモフタルイミド)、及び2,4,6−トリス(2,4,6−トリブロモフェノキシ)−1,3,5−トリアジンからなる群から選択される少なくとも1種の化合物である、請求項3に記載の樹脂組成物。
- 前記リン系化合物が、トリフェニルホスフェート、トリ(ヒドロキシフェニル)ホスフェート及びトリクレジルホスフェートからなる群から選択される少なくとも1種の化合物である、請求項3に記載の樹脂組成物。
- 前記エポキシ化合物が、トリブロモフェノールでエポキシ末端基が置換された臭素化エポキシオリゴマーであることを特徴とする、請求項3に記載の樹脂組成物。
- 前記難燃助剤が、酸化アンチモン、亜鉛化合物、ホウ酸バリウム、酸化ジルコニウム、タルク及びマイカからなる群から選択される少なくとも1種である、請求項1に記載の樹脂組成物。
- 前記酸化アンチモンが、三酸化アンチモン、四酸化アンチモン及び五酸化アンチモンからなる群から選択される少なくとも1種である、請求項8に記載の樹脂組成物。
- 前記亜鉛化合物が、ホウ酸亜鉛、モリブデン酸亜鉛、及び硫化亜鉛からなる群から選択される少なくとも1種である、請求項8に記載の樹脂組成物。
- 前記スチレン含有グラフト共重合体が、平均粒径が500〜4000Åであり、ゴム含有量が50〜90重量%である共役ジエン系ゴムにスチレンがグラフトされた共重合体である、請求項1に記載の樹脂組成物。
- 前記スチレン含有グラフト共重合体が、スチレンを除き、スチレンと共重合可能なスチレン系化合物とグラフト共重合されたものである、請求項11に記載の樹脂組成物。
- 前記樹脂組成物が、滑剤、熱安定剤、酸化防止剤、光安定剤、滴下防止剤(antidripping agent)、顔料及び無機充填剤からなる群から選択される少なくとも1種の添加剤をさらに含む、請求項1に記載の樹脂組成物。
