Abstract
Un dispositivo de inyección que comprende: una carcasa (2); una jeringa (1); una aguja (5) en un extremo distal de la jeringa (5); la jeringa (1) montada de forma deslizable dentro de dicha carcasa (2) para el movimiento entre una posición retraída cubierta en donde la aguja está cubierta por la carcasa (2) y una posición de inyección extendida donde la aguja sobresale de la carcasa (2); un tapón (4) montado de forma deslizable en dicha jeringa (1) y movible para expulsar una dosis de líquido a través de la aguja (5) en el extremo distal de la jeringa (1); un émbolo (7) que tiene un extremo operable para acoplarse a dicho tapón (4) y transmitir una fuerza de expulsión al mismo, y un muelle de desviación (8) operable para mover dicho émbolo (7) desde una primera posición a una segunda posición, caracterizado por que dicho émbolo (7) está provisto de al menos una región sobresaliente comprimible formada integralmente (10), comprendiendo la región sobresaliente comprimible (10) un par de codos flexibles que sobresalen más allá de la circunferencia normal del émbolo (7), pero que pueden comprimirse en dicha circunferencia, siendo los codos flexibles un par de brazos a cada lado de una ranura longitudinal entre las porciones sólidas superior e inferior del émbolo (7), en donde la región sobresaliente comprimible (10) está fuera de dicha jeringa (1) cuando dicho émbolo (7) está en su primera posición pero que, en uso, al moverse de dicha primera posición, se acopla un extremo proximal (6) de dicha jeringa (1) para conducir la jeringa (1) a su posición de inyección extendida, deteniendo posteriormente un movimiento adicional de dicha jeringa (1) hace que dicha región comprimible (10) se comprima hacia adentro para que entre en la jeringa (1) para permitir que dicho émbolo (7) se acople a dicho tapón (4) y expulse una dosis de líquido.

Mejoras relacionadas con dispositivos de inyección automática
Existen varias formas de dispositivo de inyección automática que, cuando se accionan, hacen que la aguja de una jeringa se mueva hacia adelante, de modo que sobresalga de una carcasa protectora antes del accionamiento de la jeringa para expresar una dosis de líquido a través de la aguja. Es importante tratar de asegurar que la jeringa se mueva físicamente hacia adelante para exponer la aguja antes de que la carga de líquido se presurice de modo que no se produzca goteo de la aguja antes de que se produzca la inyección real. Es un objeto de esta invención proporcionar un mecanismo que funcione de esta manera deseada.
La Patente de EEUU N° 3,742,948 expedida a Post et al. da a conocer una jeringa hipodérmica que comprende un recipiente de líquido y una aguja conectada al mismo en un extremo, cuyo conjunto está incorporado en una carcasa, estando el recipiente de líquido limitado en el otro extremo por un pistón, y estando presente un mecanismo de funcionamiento para ejercer una fuerza sobre el pistón, estando presentes uno o más elementos de bloqueo para bloquear el mecanismo de funcionamiento o el pistón contra el movimiento con relación al recipiente de líquido, mostrando la carcasa una transición de diámetro tal que cuando los elementos de bloqueo pasan a lo largo de ella, se mueven radialmente para que se elimine el bloqueo y el pistón penetre en el contenedor de líquido para que el líquido fluya a través de la aguja.
La Patente de EEUU N° 3,797,489 expedida a Sarnoff, da a conocer un dispositivo de inyección hipodérmica que comprende un soporte cilíndrico cerrado en un extremo y que lleva de forma deslizante una ampolla con cánula unida enfrentada al extremo cerrado del soporte, se proporciona medicamento en la ampolla entre la cánula y el pistón en el ampolla, un conjunto de resorte de pistola está asociado con el soporte y en asociación operativa con la ampolla para forzar la ampolla y la cánula unida hacia adelante, conduciendo así la cánula fuera del extremo cerrado del soporte y dentro del lugar de inyección, y un muelle compensador está posicionado en el soporte entre su extremo cerrado y el extremo de la ampolla de la cánula para contrarrestar la fuerza del resorte de pistola.
La presente invención es un dispositivo de inyección como se define en la reivindicación 1. De acuerdo con la invención, se proporciona un dispositivo de inyección para hacer que se expulse una dosis de líquido de la aguja en un extremo de una jeringa situada dentro de una carcasa del dispositivo, siendo la jeringa movible por un émbolo, tras la liberación de un miembro de desviación de accionamiento en un extremo de la carcasa, para mover la jeringa, desde una primera posición en donde la aguja está cubierta por la carcasa, a una segunda posición en donde la aguja sobresale del otro extremo de la carcasa, teniendo el émbolo la forma de una varilla con una parte saliente flexible situada de manera central longitudinalmente que, antes de la liberación de dicho miembro de desviación de accionamiento, está situada más allá del otro extremo de la jeringa, de modo que un movimiento primario del émbolo, bajo la influencia del miembro de desviación de accionamiento, causará que la parte sobresaliente se apoye contra el otro extremo de la jeringa de manera que la jeringa se mueva desde dicha primera a dicha segunda posición, con lo cual el arresto de un movimiento adicional de la jeringuilla da como resultado que la parte flexible se comprima hacia adentro para que entre en la jeringa, permitiendo así que el émbolo se mueva mediante un movimiento secundario, dentro de la jeringa, en contacto con y para accionar un tapón para comprimir el líquido dentro de la jeringa y causar la expresión del líquido a través de la aguja de la jeringa.
Con tal disposición, la parte sobresaliente permanecerá en su posición de proyección (para mover la jeringa desde la primera a la segunda posición) hasta que la fuerza se incremente hasta tal punto que permita que la parte sobresaliente se comprima hacia dentro de modo que el émbolo pueda luego moverse dentro de la jeringa para hacer que el líquido se exprese a través de la jeringa.
La parte saliente comprende un par de codos flexibles que sobresalen más allá de la circunferencia normal de la varilla, pero comprimibles en dicha circunferencia. Esto tiene la forma de dos codos definidos a cada lado de una ranura longitudinal en la varilla. Los codos podrían estar preformados y son un par de brazos a cada lado de la ranura longitudinal entre las porciones sólidas superior e inferior de la varilla.
Preferiblemente, el dispositivo de inyección contendrá un miembro de desviación de retorno que actúa entre la carcasa de la jeringa y el otro extremo de la jeringa para mantener la jeringa retraída dentro de la carcasa hasta que se libera el miembro de desviación de accionamiento.
Uno o más de los miembros de desviación provistos dentro de la carcasa pueden tener la forma de un muelle helicoidal.
La invención se puede realizar de varias maneras y se describirá ahora un ejemplo preferido de la misma, con referencia a los dibujos esquemáticos adjuntos, en los cuales:
La Figura 1 es una vista en sección a través de un dispositivo de inyección de esta invención antes de su
uso; y
las Figuras 2 y 3 son vistas similares que muestran etapas sucesivas de operación del miembro de inyección.
El dispositivo de inyección mostrado en los dibujos comprende una jeringa 1 situada dentro de una carcasa protectora 2. La jeringa comprende un 3 que incorpora una dosis de líquido mantenida en su sitio por un tapón 4 y 5 que tiene una aguja 5 a través de la cual la dosis puede expulsarse al aplicar presión al tapón 4. El 3 tiene una cabeza agrandada 6. Un émbolo 7 está desviado hacia adelante por un muelle helicoidal 8, pero se mantiene en posición cerrada (Figura 1) hasta que se acciona un gatillo mostrado esquemáticamente en 11 para liberar el émbolo y el muelle 8. Antes del uso, la jeringa 1 se mantiene retraída en la carcasa 2 mediante un muelle helicoidal 9.
Se verá que el émbolo 7 tiene la forma de una varilla que tiene una parte central que define un par de codos 10 sobresalientes 10. Estos pueden preformarse como parte de un émbolo moldeado 7. Las porciones de codo sobresalientes 10 son flexibles de modo que se pueden mover hacia dentro para hacer que la parte de la varilla adopte una circunferencia similar a la del resto de la varilla. Como puede verse en la Figura 2, cuando se libera el émbolo y se desvía por el muelle 8, la región expandida formada por los codos 10 descansa contra la cabeza 6 del 3 y la fuerza proporcionada es suficiente para comprimir el muelle 9 hasta el momento que la cabeza 6 se apoya en la 15 parte superior de la carcasa 2, después de lo cual se detiene el movimiento adicional del 3. El desvío continuo creado por el muelle 8 hace entonces que los codos 10 se compriman hacia dentro cuando entran en el interior del 3. Con los codos 10 en estado comprimido, el émbolo puede moverse con relativa facilidad dentro del 3 para actuar sobre el tapón 4 y así hacer que se expulse el contenido de la jeringa a través de la aguja 5.
La configuración ilustrada del émbolo 7 proporciona varias ventajas técnicas. Puede ser moldeado integralmente. 20 Además, el movimiento de compresión de los codos sobresalientes proporciona una disposición que puede proporcionar una fuerza de inyección adecuada para hacer que la aguja entre en la piel a una profundidad adecuada, pero luego proporciona una resistencia relativamente baja contra la pared interna del recipiente de la jeringa de manera que la mayor parte del empuje del muelle durante el resto de su recorrido se aplica al tapón 4.

Un dispositivo de inyección que comprende:una carcasa (2); una jeringa (1);una aguja (5) en un extremo distal de la jeringa (5);la jeringa (1) montada de forma deslizable dentro de dicha carcasa (2) para el movimiento entre una posición retraída cubierta en donde la aguja está cubierta por la carcasa (2) y una posición de inyección extendida donde la aguja sobresale de la carcasa (2);un tapón (4) montado de forma deslizable en dicha jeringa (1) y movible para expulsar una dosis de líquido a través de la aguja (5) en el extremo distal de la jeringa (1);un émbolo (7) que tiene un extremo operable para acoplarse a dicho tapón (4) y transmitir una fuerza de expulsión al mismo, yun muelle de desviación (8) operable para mover dicho émbolo (7) desde una primera posición a una segunda posición,caracterizado por que dicho émbolo (7) está provisto de al menos una región sobresaliente comprimible formada integralmente (10), comprendiendo la región sobresaliente comprimible (10) un par de codos flexibles que sobresalen más allá de la circunferencia normal del émbolo (7), pero que pueden comprimirse en dicha circunferencia, siendo los codos flexibles un par de brazos a cada lado de una ranura longitudinal entre las porciones sólidas superior e inferior del émbolo (7), en donde la región sobresaliente comprimible (10) está fuera de dicha jeringa (1) cuando dicho émbolo (7) está en su primera posición pero que, en uso, al moverse de dicha primera posición, se acopla un extremo proximal (6) de dicha jeringa (1) para conducir la jeringa (1) a su posición de inyección extendida, deteniendo posteriormente un movimiento adicional de dicha jeringa (1) hace que dicha región comprimible (10) se comprima hacia adentro para que entre en la jeringa (1) para permitir que dicho émbolo (7) se acople a dicho tapón (4) y expulse una dosis de líquido.
- 2. Dispositivo de inyección según se reivindica en la reivindicación 1, que incluye un miembro de desviación de retorno (9) que actúa entre la carcasa de la jeringa (2) y el extremo proximal de la jeringa (6) para mantener la jeringa (1) retraída dentro de la carcasa (2) hasta que se libere el resorte de desviación (8).
- 3. Un dispositivo de inyección según se reivindica en las reivindicaciones 1 a 2, en donde uno o más de los miembros de desviación (8, 9) provistos dentro de la carcasa tiene la forma de un muelle helicoidal.
- 4. Un dispositivo de inyección según se reivindica en las reivindicaciones 1 a 3, en donde la detención del movimiento adicional de la jeringa (1) se produce cuando la cabeza agrandada en el extremo proximal de la jeringa (6) se apoya en la parte superior de la carcasa (2).
- 5. Un dispositivo de inyección según se reivindica en las reivindicaciones 1 a 4, en donde la compresión hacia dentro de la parte sobresaliente comprimible (10) se provoca por la desviación continua creada por el muelle de desviación (8) cuando la parte saliente comprimible (10) entra en el interior de la jeringa (1).
