Abstract
Procedimiento para preparar un polímero de poli(etilen-2,5-furandicarboxilato) que presenta un número que expresa el peso molecular medio de por lo menos 25.000, según se determina mediante GPC basándose en estándares de poliestireno, comprendiendo el procedimiento (a) una primera etapa que es (i) una etapa de transesterificación en la que el éster dimetil-2,5-furandicarboxilato (diéster) se transesterifica con etilenglicol (diol) en presencia de un catalizador de transesterificación; o (ii) proporcionar una mezcla de reacción fundida que comprende bis(2-hidroxietil)-2,5- furandicarboxilato; (b) una etapa de policondensación a presión reducida, preferentemente inferior a 1 mbar y a una temperatura elevada, preferentemente inferior a 240 °C, en la que en condiciones de fusión el producto preparado en la etapa (a) reacciona en presencia de un catalizador de policondensación y elimina el condensado del reactor; (c) secar y/o cristalizar el condensado obtenido a una temperatura comprendida entre 90 °C y 160 °C; y (d) someter el polímero de la etapa (c) a unas condiciones de condensación que comprenden un tratamiento a una temperatura elevada que finaliza a una temperatura de por lo menos 190 °C para obtener de este modo un polímero de poli(etilen-2,5-furandicarboxilato) que presenta un número que expresa el peso molecular medio de por lo menos 25.000.
