- the acceleration suppression operation determination unit 10G acquires the surrounding environment recognition information from the surrounding environment recognition information calculation unit 10A, and proceeds to step S115.
- step S115 it is determined whether or not the ignition switch 8 has just been switched from off to on. When it is determined that it is not immediately after the ignition is turned on, the process proceeds to step S125, and when it is determined that it is immediately after the ignition is turned on, the process proceeds to step S128 described later.
- step S125 the acceleration suppression operation determination unit 10G determines whether there is an obstacle in the route ahead in the traveling direction of the vehicle based on the surrounding environment recognition information recognized in step S110. If there is an obstacle, the determination level of the obstacle is determined.
- the obstacle confirmation level is determined according to the type of the obstacle (wall, other vehicle, curbstone, natural object (grass, etc.)), and is the smaller value in the order of wall, other vehicle, curbstone, natural object. Shall be taken.
- FIG. 5 is a flowchart showing the determination level determination processing procedure executed in step S125.
- the acceleration suppression operation determination unit 10G determines whether there is an obstacle in the route ahead in the traveling direction of the vehicle based on the surrounding environment recognition information recognized in step S110.
- the course of the host vehicle MM is estimated based on the steering angle information.
- a range having a width equivalent to the vehicle width of the host vehicle MM on the estimated path of the host vehicle MM is set as a route of the host vehicle MM, and it is determined whether an obstacle exists in the route. .
- step S125b the acceleration suppression operation determination unit 10G determines whether or not the detected obstacle is first detected. That is, it is determined whether or not the obstacle is detected for the first time in the process in which the host vehicle MM approaches the obstacle. If the obstacle is not detected in the previous sampling and the obstacle is detected in the current sampling, it is determined as the first detection, and the process proceeds to step S125c. On the other hand, if it is not the first detection, that is, if an obstacle has been detected in the previous sampling, the process proceeds to step S125d described later.
- step S125c the acceleration suppression operation determination unit 10G acquires the current distance from the host vehicle MM to the obstacle as the initial detection distance La, and proceeds to step S125d.
- step S125d the acceleration suppression operation determination unit 10G determines whether the height of the obstacle can be determined.
- the determination can be made. For example, when detecting the curb with the sonar 1a, as shown in the upper part of FIG.
- the transmitted wave emitted in the road surface direction (diagonally downward) is reflected by the curb
- the sonar 1a receives the reflected wave by reflecting the reflected wave on the road surface.
- the sonar 1a since the transmission wave emitted in the horizontal direction from the sonar 1a passes above the curb, the sonar 1a does not receive the reflected wave of the transmission wave. Therefore, the intensity characteristic of the reflected wave received by the sonar 1a at this time has one peak exceeding the obstacle detection threshold as shown in the lower part of FIG.
- the transmitted wave emitted by the sonar 1a in the horizontal direction is reflected by the wall.
- the reflected wave is received as it is. That is, the sonar 1a receives both the reflected wave of the transmission wave emitted obliquely downward and the reflected wave of the transmission wave emitted in the horizontal direction. Therefore, the intensity characteristic of the reflected wave received by the sonar 1a at this time has two peaks exceeding the obstacle detection threshold during the short time T1, as shown in the lower part of FIG. 6B.
- T1 is a time that allows the received reflected wave to be determined as a reflected wave from the same obstacle.
- step S125e it is determined whether the detected obstacle is a tall obstacle by utilizing the fact that the reflected wave intensity characteristic varies depending on the height of the obstacle. If it is determined for the first time that the detected obstacle is a tall obstacle, the process proceeds to step S125e, and if it is determined that the detected obstacle is not a tall obstacle, or has already been determined to be a tall obstacle. In this case, the process proceeds to step S125g described later.
- step S125e the acceleration suppression operation determination unit 10G acquires the current distance from the host vehicle MM to the obstacle as the height determination distance Lb, and proceeds to step S125f. That is, the height determination distance Lb is the distance from the vehicle MM to the obstacle at the time when the obstacle height can be determined (when the obstacle can be determined to be a tall obstacle). It is.
- step S125g the acceleration suppression operation determination unit 10G determines whether the same obstacle is detected by a plurality of sonars.
- the adjacent two sonars receive the reflected wave (direct reflected wave) of their own transmitted wave and the reflected wave (indirect reflected wave) of the other party's transmitted wave, and the directly reflected wave and the indirectly reflected wave.
- the detection distance value is acquired from the above, it is determined that the same obstacle is detected by these two sonars. If it is determined for the first time that the same obstacle is detected by a plurality of sonars, the process proceeds to step S125h. If the same obstacle is not detected by a plurality of sonars, or the same obstacle is already detected by a plurality of sonars. If yes, the process proceeds to step S125i described later.
- step S125h the acceleration suppression operation determination unit 10G acquires the current distance from the host vehicle MM to the obstacle as a plurality of detection distances Lc, and proceeds to step S125i. That is, the multiple detection distance Lc is the distance from the host vehicle MM to the obstacle at the time when the same obstacle is detected by multiple sonars.
- step S125i the acceleration suppression operation determination unit 10G determines that the determined level of the detected obstacle is Lv3 (level high) based on the initial detection distance La, the height determination distance Lb, the multiple detection distance Lc, and the distance difference Ld. It is determined whether or not.
- the acceleration suppression operation determination unit 10G determines that the initial detection distance La is equal to or greater than the threshold TH 13 , the height determination distance Lb is equal to or greater than the threshold TH 23 , and the multiple detection distance Lc is equal to or greater than the threshold TH 33 . Yes, when the distance difference Ld is equal to or less than the threshold TH 43, it is determined that the determined level of the detected obstacle is Lv3 (level high).
- FIG. 7 is a diagram illustrating an example of the determination level determination threshold.
- the unit of the numerical value is [cm].
- the threshold TH 13 350 cm
- the threshold TH 23 200 cm
- the threshold TH 33 300 cm
- the threshold TH 43 200 cm.
- step S125k the acceleration suppression operation determination unit 10G determines that the determined level of the detected obstacle is Lv2 (medium level) based on the initial detection distance La, the height determination distance Lb, the multiple detection distance Lc, and the distance difference Ld. It is determined whether or not.
- the initial detection distance La is greater than or equal to the threshold TH 12
- the height determination distance Lb is greater than or equal to the threshold TH 22
- the multiple detection distance Lc is greater than or equal to the threshold TH 32
- the distance difference Ld is less than or equal to the threshold TH 42.
- the determined level of the detected obstacle is determined to be Lv2 (medium level). In this embodiment, as shown in FIG.
- the threshold TH 22 150 cm
- the threshold TH 32 230 cm
- the threshold TH 42 250 cm. If it is determined in step S125k that the condition of Lv2 is satisfied, the process proceeds to step S125l, the determined level of the detected obstacle is set to Lv2 (medium), and the process proceeds to step S125p described later. On the other hand, when it is determined in step S125k that the Lv2 condition is not satisfied, the process proceeds to step S125m.
- step S125m the acceleration suppression operation determination unit 10G determines that the determined level of the detected obstacle is Lv1 (level low) based on the initial detection distance La, the height determination distance Lb, the multiple detection distance Lc, and the distance difference Ld. It is determined whether or not.
- the initial detection distance La is equal to or greater than the threshold TH 11
- the height determination distance Lb is equal to or greater than the threshold TH 21
- the multiple detection distance Lc is equal to or greater than the threshold TH 31
- the distance difference Ld is equal to or less than the threshold TH 41.
- the determined level of the detected obstacle is determined to be Lv1 (level low). In this embodiment, as shown in FIG.
- the threshold TH 21 100 cm
- the threshold TH 31 80 cm
- the threshold TH 41 300 cm. If it is determined in step S125m that the condition of Lv1 is satisfied, the process proceeds to step S125n, the determined level of the detected obstacle is set to Lv1 (low), and the process proceeds to step S125p described later. On the other hand, if it is determined in step S125m that the condition of Lv1 is not satisfied, the process proceeds to step S125o, the determined level of the detected obstacle is set to Lv0 (none), and the determined level determination process is terminated.
- step S125p the acceleration suppression operation determination unit 10G determines whether or not the obstacle is lost at a short distance (for example, within a range of 50 cm ahead of the traveling direction of the host vehicle MM). That is, whether or not the state in which it is determined that there is an obstacle ahead of the traveling direction of the host vehicle MM is maintained even if the distance between the host vehicle MM and the obstacle is less than the short distance threshold (50 cm). Determine. If it is determined that the short distance is lost, the process proceeds to step S125o. If it is determined that the short distance is not lost, the process proceeds to step S125q. In step S125q, the acceleration suppression operation determination unit 10G sets the detected obstacle confirmation level to Lv3 (high) and ends the confirmation level determination process.
- a short distance for example, within a range of 50 cm ahead of the traveling direction of the host vehicle MM. That is, whether or not the state in which it is determined that there is an obstacle ahead of the traveling direction of the host vehicle MM is maintained even if the distance between the host vehicle MM and
- step S125i to S125n if the obstacle whose decision level is set to Lv2 or Lv1 is not lost even at a short distance, the decision level is increased to Lv3, and is confirmed when the obstacle is lost at a short distance. Lower the level to Lv0.
- the confirmation level is set based on the information on the obstacle existing ahead in the traveling direction of the host vehicle MM.
- This obstacle confirmation level is updated to a final confirmation level in consideration of the traveling state and driving state of the host vehicle MM, which will be described later.
- the confirmed level of the obstacle when the ignition switch 8 is turned off (immediately before the ignition is turned off) and the distance between the obstacle and the host vehicle MM are stored in the confirmed level storage unit 10K.
- the determined level stored in the determined level storage unit 10K is adopted to perform the acceleration suppression control for the obstacle. That is, if it is determined in step S115 of FIG. 4 that the ignition has just been turned on, in step S128, the acceleration suppression operation determination unit 10G performs a confirmation level acquisition process of acquiring the confirmation level of the obstacle stored in the confirmation level storage unit 10K. Do.
- FIG. 8 is a flowchart showing the determination level acquisition processing procedure executed in step S128.
- the acceleration suppression operation determination unit 10G reads the obstacle storage level and the distance between the obstacle and the host vehicle MM stored in the confirmed level storage unit 10K, and proceeds to step S128b.
- the acceleration suppression operation determination unit 10G detects the distance between the obstacle and the host vehicle MM based on the surrounding environment recognition information recognized in step S110. At this time, it is preferable to detect the distance between the obstacle and the host vehicle MM with at least two sonars that have detected the obstacle immediately before the ignition is turned off.
- step S128c the acceleration suppression operation determination unit 10G determines the distance (obstacle distance storage value) between the obstacle read in step S128a and the host vehicle MM, the obstacle detected in step S128b, and the host vehicle MM. And an error with respect to the distance (obstacle distance detection value).
- step S128d the acceleration suppression operation determination unit 10G determines whether or not the error calculated in step S128c is within an allowable range.
- the error is within a range of ⁇ 30 cm, for example, it is determined that it is within the allowable range.
- step S128e When it is determined that the error is within the allowable range, the process proceeds to step S128e, and it is determined that the confirmation level stored in the confirmation level storage unit 10K is valid. In this case, the confirmation level stored in the confirmation level storage unit 10K is adopted as the confirmation level of the obstacle existing ahead in the traveling direction of the host vehicle MM, and the confirmation level acquisition process is terminated.
- step S128f when it is determined in step S128d that the error is outside the allowable range, the process proceeds to step S128f, and it is determined that the confirmed level stored in the confirmed level storage unit 10K is invalid. In this case, the confirmation level of the obstacle present in the forward direction of the host vehicle MM is set to the initial state (Lv0), and the confirmation level acquisition process is terminated.
- step S130 the acceleration suppression operation determination unit 10G acquires the vehicle speed of the host vehicle MM from the host vehicle vehicle speed calculation unit 10B.
- step S140 the acceleration suppression operation determination unit 10G determines whether or not the vehicle speed acquired in step S130 is less than a preset vehicle speed threshold (for example, 15 [km / h]). If the vehicle speed is less than the vehicle speed threshold, it is determined that the host vehicle MM is traveling at a low speed, and the process proceeds to step S150. If the vehicle speed is equal to or higher than the vehicle speed threshold, it is necessary to activate the acceleration suppression control. It judges that there is no, and it transfers to step S145.
- a preset vehicle speed threshold for example, 15 [km / h]
- step S150 the acceleration suppression operation determination unit 10G acquires brake pedal operation information from the brake pedal operation information calculation unit 10E, and proceeds to step S160.
- step S160 the acceleration suppression operation determination unit 10G determines whether or not the brake pedal is operated based on the brake pedal operation information acquired in step S150. When it is determined that there is no brake pedal operation, the process proceeds to step S170, and when it is determined that there is a brake pedal operation, the process proceeds to step S145.
- step S170 the acceleration suppression operation determination unit 10G acquires the accelerator operation amount from the accelerator operation amount calculation unit 10F, and proceeds to step S180.
- step S180 the acceleration suppression operation determination unit 10G determines whether or not the accelerator operation amount acquired in step S170 is greater than or equal to a preset accelerator operation amount threshold value.
- the accelerator operation amount threshold value is set to, for example, an operation amount corresponding to 50% of the accelerator opening degree of the accelerator pedal 19. If the accelerator operation amount is equal to or greater than the accelerator operation amount threshold, the process proceeds to step S182. If the accelerator operation amount is less than the accelerator operation amount threshold, the process proceeds to step S145.
- step S182 the acceleration suppression operation determination unit 10G calculates the degree of approach D with the obstacle.
- the distance between the host vehicle MM and the obstacle is defined as an approach degree D.
- step S184 the acceleration suppression operation determination unit 10G determines whether or not the approach degree D calculated in step S182 is greater than or equal to a preset approach degree threshold value.
- the approach degree D is preset when the approach degree D is equal to or less than a preset value (for example, 3.5 [m]). It is judged that it is more than an approach degree threshold value.
- a preset value for example, 3.5 [m]
- the approach degree D is equal to or greater than the approach degree threshold value, it is determined that acceleration suppression control is necessary, and the process proceeds to step S186.
- the approach degree D is less than the approach degree threshold value, It is determined that the avoidance operation is sufficient, and the process proceeds to step S122.
- the approach degree D need not be the distance itself between the host vehicle MM and the obstacle.
- the risk potential such as the arrival time TTC when the host vehicle MM reaches the current obstacle position can also be used as the value of the approach degree D.
- step S186 the acceleration suppression operation determination unit 10G determines that the acceleration suppression operation condition is satisfied, and proceeds to step S190 with the determined level determined in step S125 as the acceleration suppression operation determination result.
- step S190 the acceleration suppression operation determination result determined in step S145 or step S186 is output to the acceleration suppression amount calculation unit 10H and stored in the defined level storage unit 10K, and the acceleration suppression operation determination process ends.
- the determination is made according to the type of the obstacle. Set the level.
- the final determination level storage unit 10K stores the final determination level set before the ignition is turned off, and the distance between the obstacle detected last before the ignition is turned off and the host vehicle MM. Immediately after the ignition is turned on, by comparing the obstacle distance storage value and the obstacle distance detection value, the validity of the confirmation level stored in the confirmation level storage unit 10K is determined, and acceleration suppression control for the obstacle is performed. Use.
- FIG. 9 is a diagram illustrating the difference between the obstacle distance detection result and the height determination result according to the obstacle type. 9, (a) shows the case where the obstacle is a wall, (b) shows the case where the obstacle is another vehicle, and (c) shows the case where the obstacle is a curb.
- the initial detection distance La, the height determination distance Lb, and the distance difference Ld between the initial detection distance La and the height determination distance Lb differ depending on the type of obstacle.
- the presence of an obstacle and the fact that the obstacle is a tall obstacle can be detected from a relatively distant position.
- other vehicles tend to have a shorter initial detection distance La than walls.
- the distance difference Ld between the initial detection distance La and the height determination distance Lb is longer than that in the case of a wall.
- the threshold values of the respective values are set as shown in FIG.
- a definite level can be set according to the type of obstacle. That is, when the obstacle is a wall, the final level is Lv3, which is the highest level. When the obstacle is another vehicle, the final level is Lv1 to Lv3 due to the difference in shape and size. In the case of a low obstacle such as a curb or a step, the final level is Lv0. However, when there are steps having complicated shapes or steps before and after, the height may be determined, so it may be Lv1 until the distance is lost.
- the level can be Lv2 until the short distance is lost.
- the final level is Lv0.
- the control mode of the acceleration suppression control is changed according to the obstacle confirmation level (obstacle type).
- the change of the control mode is performed by the acceleration suppression amount calculation unit 10H and the braking control amount calculation unit 10J in response to the obstacle confirmation level set by the acceleration suppression operation determination unit 10G.
- the acceleration suppression amount calculation unit 10H executes the acceleration suppression amount calculation process shown in FIG. 11 at every preset sampling time.
- step S210 the acceleration suppression amount calculation unit 10H acquires a definite level of an obstacle as an acceleration suppression operation determination result from the acceleration suppression operation determination unit 10G, and proceeds to step S220.
- the acceleration suppression amount calculation unit 10H acquires acceleration suppression process selection information.
- the acceleration suppression process selection information is the accelerator operation amount acquired from the accelerator operation amount calculation unit 10F.
- step S230 the acceleration suppression amount calculation unit 10H determines whether or not the obstacle confirmation level acquired in step S210 is Lv3. Then, when the confirmed level is Lv3, the process proceeds to step S240, and when the confirmed level is not Lv3, the process proceeds to step S250 described later.
- step S240 the acceleration suppression amount calculation unit 10H calculates a second acceleration suppression amount for strongly operating the driving force limit control, and proceeds to step S280 described later. Specifically, based on the accelerator operation amount acquired in step S220, an acceleration suppression amount is calculated such that the throttle opening (acceleration command value) does not become larger than the second limit value (for example, 0 [%]).
- step S250 the acceleration suppression amount calculation unit 10H determines whether or not the obstacle confirmation level acquired in step S210 is Lv2 or Lv1. And when a definite level is Lv2 or Lv1, it transfers to step S260.
- step S260 the acceleration suppression amount calculation unit 10H calculates a first acceleration suppression amount for operating the driving force limit control weakly, and proceeds to step S280 described later. Specifically, based on the accelerator operation amount acquired in step S220, an acceleration suppression amount is calculated so that the throttle opening (acceleration command value) does not become larger than the first limit value (for example, 25 [%]). If it is determined in step S250 that the final level is Lv0, the process proceeds to step S270, and the acceleration suppression amount is set to “0” in order to deactivate the driving force limit control, and the process proceeds to step S280.
- step S280 the acceleration suppression amount calculation unit 10H outputs the calculated acceleration suppression amount to the target throttle opening calculation unit 10I, and ends the acceleration suppression amount calculation process.
- the target throttle opening calculation unit 10I inputs the acceleration suppression amount from the acceleration suppression amount calculation unit 10H and also inputs the accelerator operation amount from the accelerator operation amount calculation unit 10F.
- ⁇ 1 a throttle opening corresponding to the accelerator operation amount
- ⁇ is an acceleration suppression amount.
- the target throttle opening calculation unit 10I outputs the calculated target throttle opening ⁇ * to the engine controller 16, and the engine controller 16 is an engine serving as a drive source so that the throttle opening becomes the target throttle opening ⁇ *. To control.
- FIG. 12 is a flowchart showing a braking control amount calculation processing procedure executed by the braking control amount calculation unit 10J.
- step S310 the braking control amount calculation unit 10J obtains an obstacle determination level as an acceleration suppression operation determination result from the acceleration suppression operation determination unit 10G, and proceeds to step S320.
- step S320 the braking control amount calculation unit 10J determines whether or not the acceleration suppression operation determination result acquired from the acceleration suppression operation determination unit 10G is that the acceleration suppression operation condition is not satisfied, that is, whether or not the determined level is Lv0. judge. If it is determined that the final level is not Lv0, the process proceeds to step S330. If it is determined that the final level is Lv0, the process proceeds to step S370 described later.
- step S330 the braking control amount calculation unit 10J determines whether or not the distance between the host vehicle MM and the obstacle is within a short distance (for example, 50 [cm]). And when it is a short distance, it transfers to step S340, and when it is not a short distance, it transfers to step S350 mentioned later.
- step S340 the braking control amount calculation unit 10J calculates a second braking amount for strongly operating the braking force control, and proceeds to step S380 described later. Specifically, a braking amount is calculated such that the braking force (braking force command value) becomes the second braking force (for example, equivalent to 0.5 G).
- step S350 the braking control amount calculation unit 10J determines whether or not the obstacle confirmation level acquired in step S310 is Lv3 or Lv2. And when the definite level is Lv3 or Lv2, it transfers to step S360.
- step S360 the braking control amount calculation unit 10J calculates a first braking amount for operating the braking force control weakly, and proceeds to step S380 described later. Specifically, a braking amount is calculated such that the braking force (braking force command value) becomes the first braking force (e.g., equivalent to 0.25G). If it is determined in step S350 that the fixed level is Lv0, the process proceeds to step S370, and the braking amount is set to “0” to deactivate the braking force control, and the process proceeds to step S380.
- step S380 the braking control amount calculation unit 10J outputs the calculated braking amount to the brake controller 14, and ends the braking control amount calculation process.
- the brake controller 14 controls the braking force generated by the brake device 12 to be the braking force calculated by the braking control amount calculation unit 10J.
- FIG. 13 is a time chart showing an example of the operation when the host vehicle MM is traveling at a low speed of less than 15 km / h toward the wall.
- the height determination distance Lb cannot be acquired. Unable to determine the obstacle level. Therefore, at the time t1, the final level remains in the initial state (Lv0). Therefore, when the driver performs the accelerator operation at time t1, the driving force restriction control is not performed (No in step S250 in FIG. 11), and the throttle opening degree is set according to the accelerator operation amount of the driver. Control the engine. Further, since the final level is Lv0, the braking force control is not performed (No in step S350 in FIG. 12).
- step S125f the distance difference Ld between the initial detection distance La and the height determination process Lb is 50 cm (step S125f).
- an acceleration suppression amount is calculated such that the throttle opening (acceleration command value) does not become greater than 0% (step S240), and the engine is controlled based on the calculated acceleration suppression amount.
- the throttle opening is limited to 0%.
- the acceleration of the host vehicle MM is reliably suppressed by operating the strong driving force limit control.
- the weak braking force control for alarming is activated (step S360). Thereby, a braking force equivalent to 0.25G is generated, and the vehicle speed can be reduced.
- step S330 when the driver continues the accelerator operation and the own vehicle MM reaches 50 cm before the wall at time t3 (Yes in step S330), the traveling controller 10 controls the strong braking force for the purpose of avoiding contact with the wall. Is operated (step S340). As a result, a braking force equivalent to 0.5 G is generated.
- the throttle opening is limited to 0% and a braking force equivalent to 0.25G is generated. Further, when the host vehicle MM approaches a short distance (within 50 cm) of the obstacle, a braking force equivalent to 0.5 G is generated. Therefore, even if the driver has mistakenly operated the accelerator pedal and the brake pedal before the wall, acceleration of the host vehicle MM can be suppressed and contact with the wall can be avoided.
- step S115 when the driver turns on the ignition switch 8 at time t4 in FIG. 14 (Yes in step S115), the obstacle confirmation level stored in the confirmation level storage unit 10K is read (step S128a in FIG. 8). .
- the sonars 1a to 1d detect the distance from the obstacle ahead of the traveling direction of the host vehicle MM (step S128b). Since the parking position of the host vehicle MM during ignition OFF does not change, when the front obstacle is a wall, the distance to the wall detected when the ignition is ON is equal to the distance stored in the confirmed level storage unit 10K.
- step S128d since the error between the detected value and the stored value is within the allowable range (Yes in step S128d), it is determined that the confirmed level stored in the confirmed level storage unit 10K is valid at time t5 immediately after the ignition is turned on. Then, assuming that the front obstacle is a wall, the definite level is set to Lv3 (step S128e).
- the throttle opening is limited to 0% by the driving force limiting control.
- the accelerator operation is performed in a state where there is a wall in front of the host vehicle MM and the shift position is set to the D range, the acceleration of the host vehicle MM can be reliably suppressed.
- the ignition is employed. From the information of the front obstacle detected in the stop state when the vehicle is ON, the definite level of the obstacle cannot be determined. However, by storing the obstacle confirmation level in the confirmation level storage unit 10K, it is possible to quickly and appropriately grasp the obstacle confirmation level when the ignition is ON. Therefore, appropriate acceleration suppression control can be performed.
- the obstacle ahead of the traveling direction of the host vehicle MM is another vehicle
- the driver's accelerator operation amount The engine is controlled so that the throttle opening degree according to
- the other vehicle in front of the host vehicle is first detected as an obstacle at time t12 250 cm before the other vehicle
- the reflected wave of the transmitted wave from the sonar is not stable because the shape thereof is complicated compared to the case of the wall described above, and the initial detection distance La and height
- the determination distance Lb tends to be short.
- the height can be determined at time t13 200 cm before the other vehicle. Even if the determination distance Lb ( ⁇ TH 23 ) is acquired, the conditions of Lv3 and Lv2 are not satisfied.
- step S125m the condition of Lv1 is satisfied (Yes in step S125m), and it is determined that the detected obstacle is highly likely to be another vehicle, a curb or a step, and the final level is set to Lv1 (step S125n). ).
- an acceleration suppression amount is calculated such that the throttle opening (acceleration command value) does not exceed 25% (step S260), and the engine is controlled based on the calculated acceleration suppression amount.
- the throttle opening is limited to 25%.
- the acceleration of the host vehicle MM is suppressed by operating the weak driving force limit control.
- the braking force control is deactivated (step S370).
- Step S125p the traveling controller 10 determines whether or not the obstacle is lost.
- the obstacle is another vehicle, and in order to maintain the state where the obstacle is still detected even at a short distance (Yes in step S125p), the obstacle confirmation level is increased from Lv1 to Lv3 (step S125q).
- the traveling controller 10 operates strong driving force limiting control to limit the throttle opening to 0% (step S240).
- strong braking force control is activated to avoid contact with the other vehicle, and a braking force equivalent to 0.5G is generated. (Step S340).
- the distance between the obstacle and the own vehicle MM at that time and the decision level of the obstacle are decided.
- the state is stored in the level storage unit 10K.
- the other vehicle starts while the ignition is OFF there is no obstacle in front of the host vehicle MM when the ignition is ON. Therefore, in this case, the distance from the obstacle detected when the ignition is turned on is completely different from the distance from the obstacle (other vehicle) stored in the confirmed level storage unit 10K. That is, the error between the detected value and the stored value is outside the allowable range (No in step S128d), and it is determined that the confirmed level stored in the confirmed level storage unit 10K is invalid.
- the validity of the confirmed level is determined. Therefore, as described above, when the obstacle moves between the ignition OFF and the ignition ON, the stored determination level is invalidated and it is possible to suppress improper acceleration suppression control. it can.
- the height is lower than the host vehicle MM, and the height is not normally determined. The height may be determined. In such a case, the definite level becomes Lv1 until the short distance is lost.
- FIG. 16 is a time chart showing an operation in the case where a step that can have a definite level of Lv1 is detected as an obstacle.
- step S125n an acceleration suppression amount is calculated such that the throttle opening (acceleration command value) does not exceed 25% (step S260), and the engine is controlled based on the calculated acceleration suppression amount.
- the throttle opening is limited to 25%.
- the acceleration of the host vehicle MM is suppressed by operating the weak driving force limit control.
- the braking force control is deactivated (step S370).
- the traveling controller 10 determines that a short-distance lost has occurred, and lowers the obstacle confirmation level from Lv1 to Lv0 (step S125o). Thereby, the traveling control controller 10 switches the driving force limit control to non-operation (step S270). Further, the braking force control remains inactive (step S370).
- the obstacle is lost at a short distance. It is possible to determine the obstacle type by determining whether or not it has been performed. That is, when the obstacle is not lost at a short distance, it is determined that the obstacle is not a short obstacle such as a curbstone or a step, but is likely to be another vehicle, and the confirmed level is increased to Lv3. Accordingly, both strong driving force limiting control and strong braking force control can be operated, and contact with other vehicles can be appropriately avoided.
- the obstacle ahead of the traveling direction of the host vehicle MM is a natural object such as grass
- the intensity of the reflected wave of the transmission wave from the sonar is not stable, and unstable obstacle detection as shown at time t32 and time t33 is performed.
- the initial detection distance La 100 cm is obtained.
- the conditions of Lv3 to Lv1 are not satisfied (No in step S125m)
- the detected obstacle may be a natural object or a thin object.
- step S125o the final level is set to Lv0. Therefore, when the driver starts the accelerator operation at time t31 and continues the operation as it is, the engine is controlled so that the throttle opening degree according to the accelerator operation amount of the driver is obtained (step S270). ). Further, the braking force control is also deactivated (step S370).
- the obstacle confirmation level is maintained at Lv0 even if the obstacle is detected by the sonar. Therefore, the driving force limit control and the braking force control are inoperative even at a short distance.
- the height determination is not made or the short distance is not lost. Even if it does, a definite level is maintained at Lv0. Therefore, it is possible to reliably prevent the acceleration suppression control from operating on a natural object.
- the distance between the obstacle and the host vehicle MM at that time and the determined level of the obstacle are determined levels.
- the state is stored in the storage unit 10K.
- sonars 1a to 1d detect this.
- the error between the distance from the natural object detected when the ignition is ON and the distance from the natural object stored in the confirmed level storage unit 10K is within the allowable range (Yes in step S128d). Therefore, it is determined that the confirmation level stored in the confirmation level storage unit 10K is valid, and the confirmation level is set to Lv0 assuming that the front obstacle is a natural object (step S128f).
- the driver performs an accelerator operation after the engine is started, even if an obstacle is detected in front of the traveling direction of the host vehicle MM, the obstacle is excluded from the driving force limit control. Does not suppress MM acceleration. In this way, when the ignition is ON, the type of obstacle ahead in the traveling direction can be properly grasped, and therefore it is possible to prevent unnecessary acceleration suppression control from being activated.
- the ambient environment recognition sensor 1 corresponds to the vehicle-mounted sonar
- the acceleration suppression amount calculation unit 10H and the braking control amount calculation unit 10J correspond to the acceleration suppression control unit.
- the confirmed level storage unit 10K corresponds to an obstacle type storage unit and an obstacle distance machine billion.
- step S125d corresponds to the obstacle height determination unit
- steps S125i to S125q correspond to the obstacle type determination unit.
- steps S128c to S128f correspond to the validity determination unit.
- the following effects can be obtained.
- the travel controller 10 determines for the first time that there is an obstacle by the sonars 1a to 1d
- the first detection distance La that is the distance between the obstacle and the host vehicle MM and the sonars 1a to 1d for the first time
- the type of the obstacle is determined based on the height determination distance Lb that is the distance between the obstacle and the vehicle MM when it is determined that the object is a tall obstacle.
- acceleration suppression is performed in a control manner according to the determination result of the obstacle type. Take control.
- size of the control amount of acceleration suppression control and the conditions of operation / non-operation can be changed according to the classification of an obstruction. Therefore, it is possible to suppress the driver from being bothered by the strong acceleration suppression control for natural objects such as grass. Thus, appropriate acceleration suppression control according to the type of obstacle can be performed, and driving assistance can be appropriately performed for the obstacle.
- the traveling controller 10 receives a reflected wave in which a peak of intensity exceeding a preset obstacle detection threshold is generated twice within a predetermined time for one transmission wave emission from the sonars 1a to 1d. When it does, it determines with the obstruction which exists ahead of the advancing direction of the own vehicle MM being a tall obstruction. In this way, when a transmission wave is emitted from a sonar to a tall obstacle, the transmission wave emitted from the sonar toward the lower part of the obstacle is reflected and returned in the order of the obstacle and the road surface. , Using the sonar to receive a reflected wave that is launched horizontally from the sonar and reflected back to the obstacle. Therefore, it can be easily and appropriately determined whether or not the detected obstacle is a tall obstacle.
- the height of the obstacle can be determined, whether the obstacle is a wall or other vehicle having a height equal to or higher than the height of the host vehicle MM, or a curb shorter than the host vehicle MM. It is possible to determine whether it is a step or a step.
- the travel controller 10 determines walls, vehicles, curbs, and natural objects as the types of obstacles. Thus, since the main obstacle type which needs to distinguish the control aspect of acceleration suppression control is discriminate
- the travel controller 10 sets an obstacle determination level as an index representing the type of obstacle, and sets the obstacle determination level to a lower value in the order of walls, vehicles, curbs, and natural objects. In this way, the control mode of the acceleration suppression control is such that the obstacle determination level is set to a lower value in the order of the wall, the vehicle, the curb, and the natural object, so that the acceleration of the host vehicle is surely suppressed as the obstacle determination level increases. It is possible to appropriately control the strength of acceleration suppression control.
- the travel controller 10 sets the obstacle determination level higher as the initial detection distance La is longer. Thereby, when the reflected wave of the transmission wave from the sonar is stable and an obstacle can be detected from a distant position, it can be determined that the obstacle is a large obstacle such as a wall. (6) The travel controller 10 determines the type of obstacle when the initial detection distance La is less than the natural object detectable distance at which the reflected wave due to the natural object transmitted from the sonars 1a to 1d can be stably received. Is identified as a natural object.
- the initial detection distance La is less than the natural object detectable distance
- the type of obstacle is determined as a natural object. As a result, it is possible to appropriately recognize that the detected obstacle is a natural object.
- the travel controller 10 sets the obstacle determination level higher as the height determination distance Lb is longer. As a result, when it can be detected that the obstacle is tall even from a distant position, it can be determined that the obstacle is a large obstacle such as a wall. (8) The travel controller 10 sets the obstacle determination level higher as the distance Ld obtained by subtracting the height determination distance Lb from the initial detection distance La is shorter. This makes it possible to determine the height even if a short obstacle (curbstone or step) has a surface that easily reflects the transmitted wave from the sonar, even if the initial detection can be performed relatively quickly depending on the surface processing of the obstacle and the road surface condition. When it is difficult to do, the obstacle determination level can be set low. For this reason, it is possible to suppress erroneous determination that a short obstacle is a wall or another vehicle.
- the traveling controller 10 When the traveling controller 10 receives for the first time a reflected wave from the same obstacle transmitted by at least two adjacent sonars, the multiple detection distance Lc that is the distance between the obstacle and the host vehicle MM The longer the is, the higher the obstacle determination level is set. Thereby, the erroneous detection of an obstacle can be prevented. Further, since the obstacle determination level is increased when simultaneous detection by a plurality of sonars is possible even from a distant position, it is possible to improve the accuracy of obstacle detection when the obstacle is a wall.
- the travel controller 10 determines that the sonars 1a to 1d have determined that there is an obstacle ahead of the traveling direction of the host vehicle MM, and that the distance between the host vehicle MM and the obstacle is a preset short distance. When it is maintained even if it is less than the threshold, the obstacle determination level is set to the highest level. Further, when the distance between the host vehicle MM and the obstacle is less than the short distance threshold, the sonar 1a to 1d determines that there is an obstacle ahead of the traveling direction of the host vehicle MM. If it is determined that the obstacle does not exist, the obstacle determination level is set to the lowest level.
- the acceleration with respect to the obstacle is performed.
- the suppression control can be operated reliably.
- the obstacle confirmation level is set to a relatively high level, the short distance is confirmed. By doing so, the obstacle confirmation level can be reset to an appropriate level.
- the travel controller 10 performs the driving force limit control that limits the acceleration command value according to the accelerator pedal operation amount and the acceleration limit value according to the obstacle determination level as an upper limit. To do. At this time, the acceleration limit value is set to a smaller value as the obstacle determination level is higher. As a result, the acceleration limit value of the driving force limitation control can be set small for walls and other vehicles, and control with a high acceleration suppression effect can be performed. Also, for curbs and natural objects, the acceleration limit value of the driving force limit control is set to a large value to allow acceleration, so that the driver feels uncomfortable due to the strong acceleration suppression control. Can do.
- the travel controller 10 performs braking force control that causes the host vehicle to generate a braking force according to the distance between the host vehicle MM and the obstacle, as acceleration suppression control for the obstacle.
- the braking force is set to a larger value as the obstacle level is higher.
- the braking force generated by the braking force control can be set large for walls and other vehicles, and control with a high acceleration suppression effect can be performed.
- the braking force generated by the braking force control is set to a small value to allow acceleration, so that the driver feels uncomfortable due to the strong acceleration suppression control. Can do.
- the travel controller 10 stores the type of obstacle determined based on the initial detection distance La and the height determination distance Lb. Then, the travel controller 10 stores when the ignition is ON, based on the distance between the host vehicle MM and the obstacle, when it is determined that the host vehicle MM has approached the obstacle more than a preset approach degree. Acceleration suppression control is performed in a control mode corresponding to the obstacle type. In this way, the obstacle confirmation level is stored, and the acceleration suppression control is performed by adopting the stored confirmation level when the ignition is ON.
- the front obstacle detected in the stopped state when the ignition is turned on as in the case of determining the obstacle type using the initial detection distance La and the height determination distance Lb detected while the host vehicle MM approaches the obstacle
- the classification of a front obstacle can be grasped
- the travel controller 10 determines the effectiveness of the stored obstacle type and uses it for the acceleration suppression control. Thereby, the reliability of the driving assistance with respect to the obstruction at the time of ignition ON can be improved.
- the travel controller 10 stores the difference between the distance from the stored obstacle and the distance detected by the sonars 1a to 1d within the allowable range. It is determined that the type of the obstacle is valid. As a result, when the obstacle moves or is switched between the ignition OFF and the ignition ON, the stored obstacle type can be invalidated. Therefore, it is possible to suppress execution of inappropriate acceleration suppression control.
- An initial detection distance La which is the distance between the obstacle and the vehicle MM when it is determined by the sonars 1a to 1d for the first time, is detected, and the obstacles are detected for the first time by the sonars 1a to 1d.
- a height determination distance Lb that is a distance between the obstacle and the host vehicle MM is detected.
- the type of the obstacle is determined based on the initial detection distance La and the height determination distance Lb.
- acceleration suppression control is performed in a control mode according to the type of the identified obstacle I do.
- the present invention can also be used in combination with acceleration suppression control during parking.
- a camera is provided as the surrounding environment recognition sensor 1, and the surrounding frame recognition information calculation unit 10A recognizes the parking frame from the image captured by the camera. Then, during the parking operation, it is determined whether there is an obstacle in the path ahead of the own vehicle traveling direction, and acceleration suppression control is performed to park at the target parking position, and the obstacle ahead of the parking frame. When an object exists, acceleration suppression control is performed according to the determined level of the obstacle. Thereby, the high acceleration suppression effect at the time of the accelerator pedal misoperation during parking operation is acquired.
- the type of the obstacle detected by capturing the reflected wave of the transmission wave from the vehicle-mounted sonar is determined, and the control mode of the acceleration suppression control is changed according to the type of the obstacle. can do. That is, the magnitude, operation, non-operation, etc., of the acceleration suppression control can be changed according to the type of obstacle. Therefore, it is possible to appropriately perform driving support for an obstacle while suppressing the driver from feeling troublesome, which is useful.

Abstract
