- Devices of this type consist of at least three components, namely a carrier arranged on the inside of the door with a bearing axis running essentially parallel to the plane of the door, a wing which can be folded thereon and a handle arranged on the outside of the door. After it has been attached, the handle and the wing form a jointly movable assembly.
- the handle was made in one piece with the wing and a part of the outer door panel, which had a trough-shaped depression, was integrated with the carrier. Between the upper longitudinal edge of the handle and the wing there was an angled bar that penetrated a corresponding slot in the outer door panel. This resulted in sealing problems with respect to the adjacent areas of the door outer panel. In addition, the section sitting on the support had to be individually adapted to the respective color of the outer door panel, which was cumbersome and caused high storage costs for the entire range of colors.
