Abstract
Se describen compuestos tales como Ia y Ib, los cuales se enlazan a VLA-4. Ciertos de estos compuestos tambien inhiben la adhesion de los leucocitos y, en particular la adhesion de leucocitos mediada por VLA-4. Tales compuestos son utiles en el tratamiento de enfermedades inflamatorias en un paciente mamifero, por ejemplo, un humano, tal como el asma, enfermedad de Alzheimer, arterosclerosis, SIDA, demencia, diabetes, enfermedad inflamatoria del hueso, artritis reumatoide, transplante de tejido, metastasis de tumores e isquemia al miocardio.
