Abstract

En la presente se proporcionan microorganismos recombinantes con dos o más copias de una secuencia de ácido nucleico que codifica la xilosa isomerasa, en donde el ácido nucleico que codifica la xilosa isomerasa es un ácido nucleico exógeno. Opcionalmente, los microorganismos recombinantes incluyen al menos una secuencia de ácido nucleico que codifique una xilulosa quinasa y/o al menos una secuencia de ácido nucleico que codifique un transportador de xilosa. Los microorganismos recombinantes proporcionados son capaces de crecer en xilosa como una fuente de carbono.
