Abstract

Célula que comprende una secuencia de nucleótidos que codifica una xilosa isomerasa, donde la secuencia de aminoácidos de la xilosa isomerasa presenta una identidad de al menos 75% con la secuencia de aminoácidos que se detalla en SEQ ID Nº 2 y donde la secuencia de nucleótidos es heteróloga con relación al huésped. Una célula de acuerdo con la solicitud puede emplearse en un proceso para obtener un producto de la fermentación, tal como el etanol. Este proceso puede comprender fermentar un medio que contiene una fuente de xilosa con una célula de acuerdo con la presente, de manera tal que la célula fermente la xilosa para generar el producto de la fermentación.
