Claims (13)

  1. 하기 일반식(IA)의 화합물.
    상기식에서,를 나타내고 : R1은 C3내지 C12의 알킬, 알콕시, 알킬카보닐옥시, 알콕시카보닐 또는 알콕시카보닐옥시를 나타내며 : j는 0 또는 1이고, R2는 C3내지 C12알킬 또는 알콕시를 나타내며:Q1및 Q2중의 하나는 불소이고, 다른 하나는 수소이며:단 j가 0이고이며 R1및 R2가 모두 n-알킬인 경우에 R1및 R2에서의 탄소원자의 총수는 12보다 크다.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 하기 일반식의 그룹으로부터 선택된 일반식을 갖는 화합물.
    상기식에서, R1은 n-알킬 또는 n-알콕시이고, R2는 알킬이다.
  3. 제1항에 있어서, 하기 일반식의 그룹으로부터 선택된 일반식을 갖는 화합물.
  4. 제1,2 또는 3항에 있어서, R1또는 R2가 광학적 활성형이거나 라세미 형의 키랄 그룹인 화합물.
  5. 적어도 하나가 다음 일반식(I)의 화합물인, 화합물들의 혼합물인 액정물질 :
    상기식에서,를 나타내고 j는 0 또는 1이며 : R1은 C1내지 C20알킬, 알콕시, 알킬카보닐옥시, 알콕시카보닐 또는 알콕시카보닐옥시이고 : Q1,Q2,Q3및 Q4는 각기 불소 또는 수소이며, 단 이들중 적어도 하나는 불소이고, R2는 C1내지 C20알킬 또는 알콕시이다.
  6. 제5항에 있어서, 일반식(I)의 화합물 또는 화합물들에 제1항, 2항 또는 3항에서 청구된 화합물 또는 화합물들인 액정물질.
  7. 제6항에 있어서, R1이 C3내지 C12n-알킬 또는 n-알콕시이고, R2가 C3내지 C12-n-알킬인 액정물질.
  8. 제5항에 있어서, R1또는 R2가 광학적 활성형이거나 또는 라세미형의 키랄 그룹인 액정물질.
  9. 제5항에 있어서, 추가로 적어도 하나의 광학적 활성 화합물을 함유하며, 혼합물은 강유전성 스멕틱상을 갖는 액정물질.
  10. 제9항에 있어서, 광학적 활성 화합물이 락트산의 유도체인 액정물질.
  11. 제9항에 있어서, 광학적 활성화합물이 광학적 활성 2급 알콜의 에스테르인 액정물질.
  12. 제9항에 있어서, 광학적 활성 화합물이 2-메틸부틸 그룹을 함유하는 액정물질.
  13. 제5항 내지 12항중의 어느 하나에서 청구된 액정물질이 혼입되어 있는 액정 전기광학장치.
