Claims (17)
- 강유전성 스멕틱 액정(ferroelectric smectic liquid crystal) 혼합물중에 혼입시키기에 적합한 다음 일반식(I)을 갖는 화합물.상기식에서, R1및 R2는 독릭접으로 H, R, RC, ROOC, RCOO, RCOOCH(CH3)COO 및 COOCH(CH3)COOR(여기서, R은 C1내지 C12의 알킬이다)로부터 선택되거나, CN 또는 할로겐으로 부터 선택되며,이들 환은 할로겐, CN 및 CH3로 부터 선택된 하나 이상의 측부 치환제를 가질 수 있고, B, C 및 D는 독립적으로 COO, OOC, CH2CH2, OCH2, CH2O, CH=N, N=CH, N=N 및 단일결합으로 부터 선택되며, b.c, d, e 및 z는 각각 독립적으로 0 또는 1이며, 단(b+c+d+e)는 1, 2 또는 3이고, X, Y, Z은 각각 상이하고, -O-, COO, OOC, CH2및로부터 선택되며, W는 C1내지 C5의 알킬, 페닐, 사이클로헥실, 할로겐 또는 CN이며, 단 W가 CN인 경우, d 또는 e는 1이고, 또한 환가 존재하는 경우, 이들 환은 동일한 측부 치환 유형을 갖는다.
- 제1항에 있어서, R1및 R2가 독립적으로 알킬, 알콕시, 알카노일옥시 또는 알콕시카보닐임을 특징으로 하는 화합물.
- 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서, W가 H-알킬임을 특징으로 하는 화합물.
- 제3항 있어서, W가 메틸임을 특징으로 하는 화합물.
- 제1항, 제2항 또는 제3항에 있어서, X-Y-(Z)z-이및 -O-CH2-COO- 중에서 선택됨을 특징으로 하는 화합물.
- 제1항, 제2항, 제3항, 제4항 또는 제5항에 있어서,이 다음 구조식의 그룹(여기서, 페닐환은 1개의 측 부 할로겐 치환체를 가질 수 있다)으로 부터 선택됨을 특징으로 하는 화합물.
- 제5항 또는 제6항에 있어서, 다음의 일반식들로 부터 선택된 일반식으로 갖는 화합물.성기식에서, R1은 C3내지 C10의 직쇄 또는 측쇄 알킬 또는 알콕시이고, Rx는 C1내지 C12의 알킬 또는 알콕시이거나, R2가 페닐 또는 사이클로헥실환에 직접 결합되는 경우, R2는 알카노일옥시, 알콕시카보닐, COOCH(CH3) C3H7또는 COOCH(CH3)COOC2H5일 수 있으며, 페닐환은 1개의 측부 할로겐 치환제를 가질 수 있다.
- 제5항 또는 제6항에 있어서, 다음 일반식들로 부터 선택된 일반식으로 갖는 화합물.상기식에서, Rx는 2-메틸헤빌옥시이다.
- 제1항에 있어서, R이 C3내지 C12직쇄 알킬임을 특징으로 하는 화합물.
- 제1항에 있어서,중의 하나가임을 특징으로 하는 화합물.
- 적어도 하나의 화합물은 일반식(I)의 화합물이고, 적어도 하나의 화합물이 스멕틱 상을 나타내는 화합물이며, 일반식(I)의 화합물(들) 1 내지 50중량%와 스멕틱 상을 나타내는 화합물(들) 50 내지 99중량%의 조성을 가짐을 특징으로 하는, 화합물들의 혼합물인 강유전성 스멕틱 액정물질.
- 제11항에 있어서, 스멕틱 상을 나타내는 화합물들중의 적어도 하나의 화합물이 다음 일반식을 가짐을 특징으로 하는 물질.상기식에서, RA및 RB는 독립적으로 알킬, 알콕시, 알카노일옥시 또는 알콕시카보닐이다.
- 제12항에 있어서, RA및 RB가 독립적으로 n-알킬, n-알콕시 또는 n-알콕시카보닐임을 특징으로 하는 물질.
- 제12항에 있어서, 스멕틱 상을 나타내는 화합물들중의 적어도 하나의 화합물이 다음 일반식들로부터 선택된 일반식을 가짐을 특징으로 하는 물질.상기식에서, RC는 알킬이다.
- 제11항에 있어서, 스멕틱 상을 나타내는 화합물들중의 적어도 하나의 화합물이 다음 일반식을 가짐을 특징으로 하는 물질.상기식에서 RA및 RB는 독립적으로 알킬 또는 알콕시이다.
- 제15항에 있어서, RA및 RB가 독립적으로 n-알킬 또는 n-알콕시임을 특징으로 하는 물질.
- 제11항에서 청구된 바와 같은 액정물질을 사용함을 특징으로 하는 액정 전기-광학적 디스플레이장치.※ 참고사항 : 최초출원 내용에 의하여 공개하는 것임.
