Claims (16)
- (a)少なくとも背面(backside)上のフェルト層、支持層、及び前面(front side)上の識別層(discrimination layer)を有する、少なくとも1つのTFCメンブレンを提供するステップと、
(b)空隙(pore)構造保護剤としてのカンファースルホン酸の3級アミン塩を0.1wt%〜40wt%含有する背面処理溶液を前記TFCメンブレンの背面にのみに塗布することで、背面‐処理されたTFCメンブレンを形成するステップと、
(c)前記背面‐処理されたTFCメンブレンを乾燥させることで、処理されたTFCメンブレンを得るステップと、

前記処理されたTFCメンブレンは、前記背面処理溶液で前記背面を処理せずに製造されたTFCメンブレンの水フラックス(water flux)に比べて大きい水フラックスを有する、

b)海水を、800psi以下の静水圧で請求項12または13に記載のTFCメンブレンと接触させるか、または
c)汽水(brackish water)を、225psi以下の静水圧で請求項12または13に記載のTFCメンブレンと接触させることを含み、
2,000ppm以下のNaClを含有する水道水または海水または汽水を精製する方法。 - 前記メンブレンを海水と接触させ、800psiで少なくとも15gfdの水フラックスを生成するか、または
前記メンブレンを汽水と接触させ、150psiで少なくとも18gfdの水フラックスを生成する、請求項14に記載の方法。 - 中央穿孔されたチューブの周りに螺旋状に巻き取られた(spirally wound)請求項12または13に記載のTFCメンブレンを含む、
