Description
本出願は、参照により開示全体が本明細書に組み込まれている、2014年11月13日に出願した米国仮出願第62/079,216号、名称「Mechanical Separator for a Biological Fluid」の優先権を主張するものである。
Claims (14)
- 液体を第1の部分および第2の部分に分離することを可能にする分離アセンブリであって、
第1の端部、第2の端部、およびこれらの間に延び、内面を有し、容器内部を画定する側壁を有する容器であって、前記第1の端部と前記第2の端部の間に縦軸を画定する容器と、
前記容器内部に配置されたセパレータ本体であって、セパレータ本体を通って画定された直線状ボアを含む貫通孔を有し、
フロート、および
バラスト
を備えるセパレータ本体とを備え、
前記フロートと前記バラストが連結されており、前記フロートは前記セパレータ本体の上面を画定し、前記バラストは前記セパレータ本体の下面を画定し、
前記セパレータ本体は、前記貫通孔が前記容器の前記第1の端部に対し液体受入れ配置で規定される第1の位置から、前記貫通孔が前記容器の前記縦軸に対し実質的に垂直で規定される第2の位置まで移行可能であり、
前記第1の位置において、前記セパレータ本体は、前記フロートの前記上面の中心からずれている場所で、かつ、前記バラストの前記下面の中心からずれている場所で、前記容器の前記側壁と接触することを特徴とする分離アセンブリ。 - 前記セパレータ本体の外周が前記容器の側壁との干渉係合を形成することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の分離アセンブリ。
- 前記干渉係合が前記容器の前記側壁と封止を形成することを特徴とする請求項2に記載の分離アセンブリ。
- 前記貫通孔は第1の開口および第2の開口を有し、前記バラストは前記第1の開口よりも前記第2の開口に対して近位の先頭バラスト部分と、前記第2の開口よりも前記第1の開口に対して近位の追従バラスト部分とを画定し、前記第1の位置において、前記先頭バラスト部分は、前記容器の前記側壁に接触し、前記追従バラスト部分は、前記容器の前記側壁から離して間隔があけられていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の分離アセンブリ。
- 前記フロートは前記第1の開口よりも前記第2の開口に対して近位の先頭フロート部分と、前記第2の開口よりも前記第1の開口に対して近位の追従フロート部分とを画定し、前記追従フロート部分および前記先頭バラスト部分は前記容器の前記側壁に接触し、前記先頭フロート部分および前記追従バラスト部分は前記容器の前記側壁から離して間隔があけられていることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の分離アセンブリ。
- 前記第2の位置にあるとき、前記セパレータ本体は、前記フロートの前記上面の周辺部の少なくとも一部で、前記容器の前記側壁と接触することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の分離アセンブリ。
- 前記第2の位置にあるとき、前記セパレータ本体は、前記フロートの前記上面の周辺部の全体で、前記容器の前記側壁と接触することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の分離アセンブリ。
- 前記フロートの一部分と前記バラストの一部分は、前記貫通孔を画定することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の分離アセンブリ。
- 前記フロートが前記貫通孔を画定することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の分離アセンブリ。
- 前記第1の位置において、前記セパレータ本体の前記貫通孔の貫通軸は、前記容器の縦軸を含む平面と平行ではない平面にあることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の分離アセンブリ。
- 前記第1の位置において、前記セパレータ本体の前記貫通孔の貫通軸は、前記容器の縦軸および前記容器の前記側壁の少なくとも一方に対して角度が付けられていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の分離アセンブリ。
- 前記貫通孔の前記貫通軸は、前記容器の前記側壁に対して約30°から約60°の角度が付けられていることを特徴とする請求項11に記載の分離アセンブリ。
- 前記第1の位置にあるとき、前記セパレータ本体の前記貫通孔の貫通軸は、前記容器の前記縦軸からずれていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の分離アセンブリ。
- 前記貫通孔の開口の外周の少なくとも1つの位置は、前記容器の前記側壁の近傍に隣接して置かれることを特徴とする請求項11に記載の分離アセンブリ。
