Description
上方区分は、好ましくは、後方に折り曲げられた場合及び着座する人が椅子に側方から着座しているときに着座した人の腕を載せるためのプラットホームとなる。
本発明の第9の態様によれば、上述した方法を用いて組み立てられた椅子用の背もたれ部が提供される。
背もたれ部
ポリマー材料は、適切には、エラストマー材料、例えば熱可塑性ポリウレタンエラストマー(TPU)又はナイロンエラストマーである。最も好ましくは、ポリマー材料は、HYTRELであり、これは、デュポン(De Pont)社から入手できる熱可塑性ポリエステルエラストマーである。
上記において概略的に説明したように、背もたれフレームは、好ましくは、ひじ掛け101a,101bを背もたれ部分から支持するアーム組立体の複数の部分を形成する支持体51a,52bを有する。上述したように、背もたれフレームの下方部分27は、着座したばかりの人の背中の側部を包囲し、それによりその領域に凹状の曲率を有するようぐるりと湾曲している。図41a〜図43に示されているように、アーム組立体のひじ掛け101a,101bは、その領域に背もたれ部の連続部を効果的に形成するよう構成されている。好ましくは、ひじ掛け101a,101bの内面101c,101dは、その領域に凹状の曲率の連続部を形成する凹状の曲率を有している。内面は、ひじ掛けの人体向き表面である。
座部は、図1〜図5を参照して以下に詳細に説明する好ましい形態のリクライニング機構体によって支持フレームの上方に支持されている。しかしながら、座部及び座部支持機構体は、別の形式のリクライニング機構体を有する椅子又は座部構成体の場合、任意形式の椅子に組み込むことができる多くの特徴部を有する。
以下に更に詳細に説明するように、座部支持体、それ故に座部は、座部が背もたれ部のリクライニング動作時に動くようにするリクライニング機構体で支持されている。具体的に説明すると、リクライニング機構体により、例えば図1、図2、図6a及び図6bに示す中間支持体301は、背もたれ部がリクライニング作用を受けると、持ち上がると共に後方に動く。
図51及び図52を参照すると、支持フレームは、キャスタ付きベース11を有している。キャスタ付きベースは、管状直立部301の形態をした中央部分17を有し、複数本の脚部303が管状直立部から半径方向外方に延びており、各脚部は、中央部分の近くに位置する端部及び中央部分から遠くに位置する端部を有している。キャスタ305が、各脚部の遠位端部のところ又はこれに隣接して回転可能に作動的に支持されている。管状直立部301は、任意適当な断面のものであって良い。
椅子は、図1〜図5に示すような好ましい形態のリクライニング機構体を有している。リクライニング機構体は、主トランサム21の後方部分と中間支持体301の後方部分との間に延び、それにより座部の後方部分と支持フレームを互いに作動的に連結する後側変形可能部材351を有している。リクライニング機構体は、主トランサム21の前方部分と中間支持体301の前方部分との間に延び、それにより座部のより前方の部分と支持フレームを互いに作動的に連結する前側変形可能部材353を更に有している。図示の形態では、前側変形可能部材及び後側変形可能部材は各々、椅子の前方方向に対して横方向に延びると共に実質的に主トランサム21の幅にわたって延びている。
図示の形態では、引き部材が中間支持体に連結されているが、引き部材は、これに代えて、所望の引張り動作を達成するために座部パン207、座部支持体217又は後側変形可能部材351の上方部分に作動的に連結されても良い。実質的に主トランサムの幅にわたって延びる単一のパネルを有するのではなく、前側変形可能部材、後側変形可能部材、下側変形可能部材及び引き具の任意のものに代えて多数のコンポーネントを用いても良い。しかしながら、部品数を減少させるために単一の部材を用いるのが良い。
図53〜図55は、リクライニング機構体を備えた第2の好ましい形態の椅子を示している。以下に説明しない限り、特徴及び作用は、図1〜図5を参照して上述したのと同一であると解釈されるべきであり、同一の部品を示すために1000を加えた状態で同一の参照符号が用いられている。着座する人が図53〜図55では示されていないが、椅子は、着座した人が存在する状態で取る位置で示されており、したがって、座部支持体1221は、底が突き当たり、中間支持体を1301で支持される。
図56〜図113は、リクライニング機構体を備えた第3の好ましい形態の椅子を示している。以下に説明しない限り、特徴及び作用は、図1〜図52を参照して上述したのと同一であると解釈されるべきであり、同一の部品を示すために2000を加えた状態で同一の参照符号が用いられている。
図72〜図75から解るように、背もたれ部の下方部分2027は、横方向に延びる頂部材2033、横方向に延びる底部材2035及び頂部材と底部材を互いに連結した少なくとも2つの互いに間隔をおいた部材2037a,2037bを有している。部材2037a,2037bは、横方向に延びる底部材2035の連続部を効果的に形成し、これら部材は、底部材から前方、外方且つ上方に傾斜している。部材2037a,2037bの各々の少なくとも一部は、図示のように全体として直線状であるのが良い。図示の形態では、部材2037a,2037bは、各々、横方向頂部材及び横方向底部材のそれぞれの端部のところに位置決めされている。
背もたれ部は、好ましくは、ひじ掛け2101a,2101bを背もたれ部から支持するアーム組立体の一部をなす支柱2051a,2051bを有している。上述したように、背もたれフレームの下方部分2027は、着座したばかりの人の背中の側部を包囲するようぐるりと湾曲している。図89〜図91に示されているように、アーム組立体のひじ掛け2101a,2101bは、これらの内面がその領域において背もたれ部のカバーの連続部を効果的に形成するように構成されている。図示の形態では、内面2101c,2101dは、凹状の曲率を有し、少なくとも着座する人が椅子に側方から着座して背もたれ部に寄り掛かったとき、その領域において背もたれ部のカバーの曲率の連続部を形成する。これに代えて、内面2101c,2101dは、実質的に平らであっても良い。各ひじ掛けの内面全体は、好ましくはクッション付きである。ひじ掛け2101a,2101bは、アーム支柱2051a,2051bから片持ち方式で前方に延びている。
図61〜図71を参照すると、座部は、座部支持パン2201を有している。このパンは、一体成形ポリマー構成体である。図61及び図62に詳細に示された座部パネル2102が、座部パンの頂部に取り付けられている。座部パネル2102は、可撓性ポリマーパネルの形態をしており、その可撓性は、上述したスロットの配置状態によって高められている。このプラスチックパネル及びパンを射出成形プラスチック又は任意他の適当な材料で作ることができる。
この好ましい形態では、椅子は、中間支持体を備えていない。したがって、リクライニング機構体は、主トランサム2021と座部深さ取付け具2221との間に直接連結される。好ましい形態のリクライニング機構体は、図56〜図60に示されている。リクライニング機構体は、主トランサム2021の後方部分と座部深さ取付け具2021の後方部分との間に延び、それにより座部の後方部分と支持フレームを作動的に連結する一対の後側変形可能部材2351を有している。これら2つの部材2351は、横方向に間隔をおくと共に座部のそれぞれの側部寄りに位置決めされている。
図99〜図102は、地面より上の座部2013の高さを変化させるために高さ調整ペデスタルの高さ調整ばねを制御する好ましい形態の作動機構体2701を示している。主トランサム2221は、高さ調整ばねの上端部2019及びかくして高さ調整ペデスタルの上端部を受け入れる孔2221aを備えた取付け区分を有している。ペデスタルの高さ調整ばねは、上端部に解除ボタン2019cを備えている。解除ボタンが押し込まれていない場合、高さ調整ばねは、実質的に選択された位置にロックされている。ユーザが床より上方の椅子の座部の高さを調整したいと思った場合、ボタン2019cを内方に押して高さ調整ばねの位置を解除しなければならない。高さ調整ばねのボタン2019cを解除すると、この場合も又、高さ調整ばねは、選択された位置に実質的にロックされ、それにより床より上方の座部の位置が実質的にロックされる。
図103〜図109は、好ましい形態の選好制御装置の特徴及び動作原理を示している。上述したように、好ましい形態の椅子では、リクライニング機構体は、椅子の背もたれ部2015を全体として直立の位置から全体としてリクライニングされた位置に向かってリクライニングさせると、座部2013が持ち上がるよう構成されている。即ち、好ましい形態の椅子は、重量補償型リクライニング機構体を有する。
好ましい形態の椅子は、着座した人の腰部領域に対して追加の支持作用を提供する腰部支持機構体を備えても良く又は備えなくても良い。図110〜図112は、図56の椅子に組み込まれた好ましい形態の腰部支持体を示している。任意他の適当な形式の腰部支持体を用いることができることが解る。

前記腰部支持部は、着座した人が前記背もたれ部に後ろ向きの力を加えたときに、着座した人の背の両側をそれぞれ支持する二つの離間した着座者支持部を有する請求項1に記載の椅子用背もたれ部。
