【解決手段】走査線駆動回路及び信号線駆動回路により表示制御が行われる表示部を有する複数の可撓性の表示パネルと、複数の表示パネルを固定する綴じ部とを有し、綴じ部の内側に信号線駆動回路を設け、表示パネルにおいて綴じ部と垂直方向の端部に走査線駆動回路を設ける。

Description
本実施の形態では、電子書籍の一例について、図面を参照して説明する。
本実施の形態では、上記図1に示した電子書籍の具体的な構成について、図面を参照して説明する。なお、本実施の形態で示す構成は多くの部分で上記実施の形態1と共通している。したがって、以下においては、重複する部分の説明は省略し、異なる点について詳細に説明する。
本実施の形態では、複数の可撓性の表示パネルを有する電子書籍を見開きにし、湾曲させて使用する際に関し、上記実施の形態の作用効果について一例を示し、図7乃至図10を参照して説明する。
本実施の形態では、上記実施の形態1で説明した複数の表示パネルを有する電子書籍の構成に加えて、第1の表示パネル4311と第2の表示パネル4312の間に、両面表示型の第3のパネルを搭載した例について説明する。図11(A)は、電子書籍を見開きにした状態であり、図11(B)は電子書籍を閉じた状態である。また、図12は電子書籍の横方向の断面図である。
本実施の形態では、電子書籍に設ける表示パネルの例を示す。表示パネルは様々の表示素子を有する表示パネルを適用することができ、パッシブマトリクス型でもアクティブマトリクス型でもよい。
本実施の形態では、電子書籍を構成する材料や素子構造の例を詳細に説明する。

- 走査線駆動回路及び信号線駆動回路により表示制御が行われる表示部を有する複数の可撓性の表示パネルと、
前記複数の表示パネルを固定する綴じ部とを有し、
前記綴じ部には、前記信号線駆動回路が設けられ、
前記表示パネルには、前記綴じ部と垂直方向の端部に前記走査線駆動回路が設けられている電子書籍。 - 請求項1において、
前記走査線駆動回路及び前記信号線駆動回路はトランジスタを有し、前記走査線駆動回路を構成するトランジスタと前記信号線駆動回路を構成するトランジスタの構造が異なる電子書籍。 - 請求項2において、
前記走査線駆動回路を構成するトランジスタのチャネル層は、非単結晶半導体であり、
前記信号線駆動回路を構成するトランジスタのチャネル層は、単結晶半導体である電子書籍。 - 請求項3において、
前記非単結晶半導体は、アモルファスシリコン、微結晶シリコン、ポリシリコン又は酸化物半導体である電子書籍。 - 請求項2乃至請求項4のいずれか一項において、
前記表示部はトランジスタを有し、且つ前記表示部を構成するトランジスタと前記走査線駆動回路を構成するトランジスタのチャネル層が同じ材料で設けられている電子書籍。 - 請求項1乃至請求項5のいずれか一項において、
