Abstract
Description
本明細書で使用する時、「吸収剤」という用語は、22℃、0.1MPa(1気圧)にて吸収剤1gあたり少なくとも約0.15gの二酸化炭素を吸収できる化合物又は化合物の混合物を指す。二酸化炭素を吸収できる多くの化合物が二酸化炭素吸収に関する前述の要件を満たし、本明細書に用いるのに許容可能な吸収剤の幾つかの例としては、カルシウム、リチウム、ナトリウム、カリウム、ルビジウム、セシウム、マグネシウム、ストロンチウム、これらの酸化物、これらの水酸化物、及びこれらの組み合わせが挙げられるが、これらに限定されない。
本発明の製品は、3つの要素、すなわち焙煎コーヒーを含む容器、1以上の吸収剤及び1以上の触媒を含む。任意に、脱気剤が含まれていてもよい。

前述の式に示されるように、この例では水酸化カルシウムである吸収剤は、二酸化炭素と反応して炭酸カルシウム及び水を生成する。換言すれば、水酸化カルシウムは、本発明の吸収剤によって炭酸カルシウムに転化される一方で、発生した微量の水は、本発明の吸収剤に吸収されるか、又は周りの条件が許容するならば揮発するかのいずれかであってもよい。

上記の式に示されるように、一酸化炭素は、密閉容器のヘッドスペースに存在する酸素と結合し、二酸化炭素を形成して、次いでその二酸化炭素は上述の方法で吸収剤に吸収され得る。
本発明の方法は、まず、新鮮に焙煎されたコーヒーをパックするための容器を提供する。上記で示されたように、容器は、一般に半剛性又は剛性材料のいずれかで構成されてもよく、実施形態の1つではポリオレフィンを含む。
新鮮な焙煎コーヒー豆全部を室温に冷却し、約5時間脱気する。次いでこの豆を平均粒径約700μmに挽き、さらに約10分間脱気する。約1kgの焙煎され挽かれたコーヒーは、次いで本明細書にて記載されたような半剛性容器にパックされる。
新鮮な焙煎され挽かれたコーヒーを調製し、実施例1のような半剛性容器に入れる。約3%の水酸化ナトリウムを含有する水酸化カルシウムを、約425μmの平均粒径を有する粉末に粉砕し、しっかり閉まって乾燥したガラスジャーに入れる。同様に、3gのモレキュライト(Moleculite)(登録商標)を平均粒径約425μmに粉砕し、第2のしっかり閉まって乾燥したガラスジャーに入れる。
約375gの新鮮な焙煎され挽かれたコーヒーを金属容器に充填し、1つは約4gのソフノライム(Sofnolime)(登録商標)吸収剤を含有し、1つは約1gのモレキュライト(Moleculite)(登録商標)触媒を含有する2つの不織布小袋(pouches)をコーヒーの上方に入れる。容器は次いで缶巻締機を用いて密閉される。容器は一方向バルブを有していない。焙煎され挽かれたコーヒーから放出される放出ガスは、触媒によって転化され、吸収剤によって吸収される。容器内の内圧は、大気圧未満の約7kPa(1psi)〜14kPa(2psi)に維持される。
コーヒー豆全部を、一般的な慣行に従って焙煎し、約5時間保持して冷却し、ある程度の放出ガスを放出させる。焙煎されたコーヒーは、約700μmの粒径に挽かれ、半剛性容器に容器あたり約1100gのコーヒーがパックされる。約12gのソフノライム(Sofnolime)(登録商標)及び約3gのモレキュライト(Moleculite)(登録商標)の両方を含有する不織布小袋(pouch)を調製し、容器中のコーヒー上に入れる。次いで容器はラミネート箔封止具で密閉される。封止具は一方向バルブを有していない。焙煎され挽かれたコーヒーが放出する放出ガスは、ソフノライム(Sofnolime)(登録商標)及びモレキュライト(Moleculite)(登録商標)によって転化され、吸収され、シールは4ヶ月の保管後も損なわれないままである。
Claims (9)
- a)焙煎コーヒーの容器、
b)カルシウム、リチウム、ナトリウム、カリウム、ルビジウム、セシウム、マグネシウム、ストロンチウム、これらの酸化物、これらの水酸化物、及びこれらの混合物、好ましくは水酸化カルシウム及び水酸化ナトリウムの混合物から成る群から選択される吸収剤、及び
c)酸化銅、酸化マンガン、酸化亜鉛、酸化セリウム、及びこれらの混合物、好ましくは酸化銅及び二酸化マンガンの混合物から成る群から選択される触媒、
を含むことを特徴とする製品。 - 吸収剤と触媒とコーヒーとの比が18:1:2200〜4:1:366であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の製品。
- 前記容器が半剛性であることを特徴とする、請求項1又は2に記載の製品。
- 前記吸収剤及び前記触媒がそれぞれ、パック、小袋(pouch)、小袋(sachet)、成形品及びこれらの組み合わせから成る群から選択される形態に包装されることを特徴とする、請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の製品。
- 前記形態が前記容器に接着されていることを特徴とする、請求項1〜4のいずれか一項に記載の製品。
- 前記形態が前記容器の封止具に接着されていることを特徴とする、請求項1〜5のいずれか一項に記載の製品。
- 前記製品がさらに脱気剤を含むことを特徴とする、請求項1〜6のいずれか一項に記載の製品。
- a)焙煎コーヒーの容器、好ましくは焙煎コーヒーの半剛性容器を提供する工程、
b)前記容器に吸収剤及び触媒を入れる工程であって、前記吸収剤が、カルシウム、リチウム、ナトリウム、カリウム、ルビジウム、セシウム、マグネシウム、ストロンチウム、これらの酸化物、これらの水酸化物、及びこれらの混合物から成る群から選択され、前記触媒が、酸化銅、酸化マンガン、酸化亜鉛、酸化セリウム、及びこれらの混合物から成る群から選択される工程、並びに
c)前記容器に封止具を密閉する工程、
を含むことを特徴とする、密閉容器にパックされた焙煎コーヒーが放出する放出ガスを吸収する方法。 - 前記吸収剤及び前記触媒がそれぞれ、パック、小袋(pouch)、小袋(sachet)、成形品及びこれらの組み合わせから成る群から選択される形態を備えていることを特徴とする、請求項8に記載の方法。
