Claims (32)
- 各画素に含まれる画素電極及び薄膜トランジスタ、横方向に伸びていて前記画素にゲート信号を伝達する複数のゲート線、及び縦方向に伸びていて前記画素にデータ信号を伝達する複数のデータ線を備える液晶表示装置であって、
隣接している青色及び白色画素と、
前記青色及び白色画素を中心に斜めに対向している一対の赤色画素と、
前記赤色画素に隣接して前記青色及び白色画素を中心に斜めに対向している一対の緑色画素と、
を各々含む複数の画素群で構成された画素配列を特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 各画素に印加される階調電圧の極性割り当て状況に関して、
前記一つの画素群において、前記青色画素と前記白色画素は同一極性を有し、前記赤色画素対の両画素も同一極性を有し、前記緑色画素対の両画素もまた同一極性を有する請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記極性を周期的に反転する方式として列反転方式を用いる請求項2に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記極性反転は2×1反転である請求項2に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記一つの画素群において、前記青色及び白色の両画素が同一極性を有し、前記赤色画素対の両画素が互いに異なる極性を有し、前記緑色画素対の両画素も互いに異なる極性を有する請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記極性反転は2×2反転である請求項5に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 縦方向または横方向に隣接した二つの画素群の青色画素と白色画素の相対的位置が入れ代わった請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記画素は長方形であり、前記青色画素と前記白色画素は縦方向に配置されて独立的な列を構成する請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記青色画素と前記白色画素は、二等辺三角形の平面形状を有し、両画素を組み合わせれば菱形である請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記青色画素と前記白色画素の境界線は、横方向または縦方向に伸びている請求項9に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 隣接した2列に含まれる前記赤色画素は互いに異なる行に位置し、隣接した2行に含まれる赤色画素は互いに異なる列に位置し、隣接した2列に含まれる前記緑色画素は互いに異なる行に位置し、隣接した2行に含まれる緑色画素は互いに異なる列に位置し、横方向に隣接した二つの画素群の前記青色画素または前記白色画素は互いに異なる行に位置するかまたは縦方向に隣接した二つの画素群の前記青色画素または前記白色画素は互いに異なる列に位置する請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記液晶表示装置はレンダリング駆動技法で駆動する請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記画素に光を供給するバックライトユニットをさらに含み、前記バックライトユニットが出す光はx色座標が0.31から0.34の間であり、y色座標が0.32から0.35の間である請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記赤色、緑色及び青色画素は赤色、緑色及び青色顔料を各々含む赤色、緑色及び青色の有機物フィルターをさらに含み、前記白色画素は透明有機物フィルターをさらに含む請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記赤色、緑色、青色及び白色画素は、前記有機物フィルター上に形成されている共通電極をさらに含む請求項14に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記赤色、緑色、青色及び白色画素は、前記有機物フィルターと前記共通電極の間に形成されているオーバーコート膜をさらに含む請求項15に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記透明有機物のフィルターは、前記オーバーコート膜と同一物質からなる請求項16に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記オーバーコート膜表面の高さは実質的に均一な請求項15に記載の液晶表示装置用色フィルター表示板。
- 前記赤色、青色、緑色及び白色画素は、
前記薄膜トランジスタ上に形成されて突出部を有する保護膜と、
前記保護膜と対向する赤色、緑色及び青色の色フィルターと、
前記色フィルター上に形成されている共通電極と、
前記画素電極と前記共通電極との間に充填されている液晶とを含み、
前記突出部は前記白色画素に位置し、前記共通電極の高さは前記赤色、緑色及び青色画素のものより前記白色画素のものが低い請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記共通電極と前記保護膜表面との間の距離は実質的に同一である請求項19に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記画素電極と前記共通電極は、切開部を有する請求項19に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 隣接した一対の中央画素と前記中央画素を中心に交差するように配置された一対の第1色の画素、及び一対の第2色の画素を各々含む複数の画素群からなり、行列状に配置された画素配置と、
前記横方向に伸びており前記画素にゲート信号を伝達する複数のゲート線と、
縦方向に伸びておりデータ信号を伝達する複数のデータ線とを含み、
前記各画素は画素電極と薄膜トランジスタを含み、
前記画素は極性反転される液晶表示装置。 - 前記一つの画素群で前記中央画素が同一極性を有し、前記第1色の画素も同一極性を有し、前記第2色の画素もまた同一極性を有する請求項22に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記極性反転は列反転である請求項23に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記極性反転は2×1反転である請求項23に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記一つの画素群で前記中央画素が同一極性を有し、前記第1色の画素は互いに異なる極性を有し、前記第2色の画素も互いに異なる極性を有する請求項22に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記極性反転は2×2反転である請求項26に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記中央画素は青色画素であり、前記第1色及び第2色の画素は各々緑色及び赤色画素である請求項22に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記中央画素は赤色画素であり、前記第1色及び第2色の画素は各々緑色及び青色画素である請求項22に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記中央画素は青色及び白色画素であり、前記第1色及び第2色の画素は各々緑色及び赤色画素である請求項22に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記中央画素は互いに彩度が異なる請求項22に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記中央画素は赤色画素である請求項31に記載の液晶表示装置。
