Abstract
Description
前記接続部が開口する側とは反対側に開口する筒状の圧着部を備え、圧着部の内面には、電線が圧着により接続可能とされ、且つ前記厚膜部よりもめっき膜が薄い薄膜部が設けられている。圧着部のめっき膜が厚いと、圧着過程で圧着部のめっき膜の表面にクラックが発生する可能性があるものの、圧着部には薄いめっき膜の薄膜部が形成されているため、圧着部のめっき膜の表面にクラックが生じにくい。また、圧着部に厚いめっき膜を形成しなくて済むため、コストが安価に抑えられる。
本発明の実施例1を図1~図7によって説明する。実施例1の端子金具10は、導電性の金属板を曲げ加工等することにより全体として前後方向に細長い形状に成形され、図6に示すように、前方から相手側の雄端子60が挿入可能な筒状の接続部11と、接続部11の後方に配置される圧着部12とを備えている。
めっき膜を形成するに際し、まず、端子金具10全体が図示しないめっき槽のめっき液中に浸漬される等して所定のめっき処理が行われる。これにより、端子金具10の表面全体に、薄いめっき膜の薄膜部23に相当する部分が形成される。続いて、接続部11の外面と内面の所定領域をマスキングした状態で、接続部11の先端部が同じく図示しないめっき槽のめっき液中に浸漬される。これにより、接続部11の内側に、薄膜部23に積層されるようにして、厚いめっき膜の厚膜部22が形成される。
また、各弾性片14は、接続ピン61と当接するに伴い、その後端を支点として弾性的に変形させられ、窄まり部15が概ね前後方向に略水平な状態になる。その後、接続ピン61が接続部11内に正規深さで挿入されると、各弾性片14の弾性反力が維持された状態で、各接続部11の厚膜部22の接点部18に接続ピン61が接触し、もって端子金具10が雄端子60に導通接続された状態に保持される。このとき、接続ピン61は、接触領域17の接点部18に対し、各割り溝13の位置を除いて周方向のほぼ全周に亘って当接した状態になる。なお、端子金具10及び雄端子60は、それぞれ図示しないコネクタハウジングに装着されており、上述の接続動作は、それぞれのコネクタハウジングの嵌合動作に連動して行われる。
図8は、本発明の実施例2の端子金具10において、厚膜部22が設けられた各弾性片14の拡大断面図を示す。実施例2では、各弾性片14に対する厚膜部22の膜形成の態様が実施例1とは異なり、その厚膜部22で覆われる各弾性片14の一部の形状が実施例1とは異なる。その他は実施例1と同様であるため、実施例1と同一の部位又は相当する部位には同一符号を付し、重複する説明は省略する。
本発明は上記記述及び図面によって説明した実施例に限定されるものではなく、例えば次のような態様も本発明の技術的範囲に含まれる。
(1)厚膜部は、端子金具の必要部位に設けられるものであればよく、接触領域以外の必要部位にも設けられるものであってもよい。例えば、接続部11の内面の先端側をマスキングせずに二度目のめっき処理を行うことにより、厚膜部が接続部の内面の先端にまで設けられるものであってもよい。
(2)接触領域と厚膜部のそれぞれの形成領域が必ずしも一致している必要はなく、例えば、厚膜部の前後領域は、接触領域の前後領域よりも大きくてもよい。
(3)めっき膜は、銀めっきに限らず、金めっき等の他のめっき処理で形成されるものであってもよい。
(4)めっき方法としては、上述したいわゆるどぶ漬けの方法に限るものではなく、接続部の外周側のマスキングを省略することが可能なめっき方法であればよい。
(5)雄端子の樹脂部材が接続部の内面に最初に当接(ファーストタッチ)するものであってもよい。

- 相手側の雄端子が挿入可能な筒状の接続部を備え、
前記接続部は、先端から延びる割り溝を介して周方向に分割される複数の弾性片を有してなり、
前記複数の弾性片の内面には、他の部分よりもめっき膜が厚い厚膜部が設けられ、前記厚膜部に前記雄端子と接触可能な接触領域が設けられ、
前記厚膜部及び前記接触領域は、前記接続部の先端寄りの内面にて、前記割り溝の位置を除いて周方向に連続して配置されていることを特徴とする端子金具。 - 前記接続部が開口する側とは反対側に開口する筒状の圧着部を備え、圧着部の内面には、電線が圧着により接続可能とされ、且つ前記厚膜部よりもめっき膜が薄い薄膜部が設けられていることを特徴とする請求項1記載の端子金具。
- 前記接触領域は、先端へ向けて拡開して前記雄端子を前記接続部内に誘い込むことが可能な誘い込み部と、前記誘い込み部の誘い込み方向奥側に配置されて正規挿入時に前記雄端子との接続をとることが可能な接点部とを有し、前記厚膜部が前記接点部と前記誘い込み部とにまたがって配置されていることを特徴とする請求項1又は2記載の端子金具。
- 前記弾性片は、その内面から前記割り溝に臨む側面にかけて曲面状に連ねられる角アール部を有し、前記厚膜部は、前記角アール部に沿った曲面状の表面部分を有していることを特徴とする請求項1ないし3のいずれか1項記載の端子金具。
