DESIGN FOR BASE-BURNING STOVES.
Specification forming part of Design No. 10,360, dated December 18, 1877 application filed November 16, 1877.
[Term of Patent 31} years] To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that we, NICHOLAS S. Vnnnnn, of the city of Troy, in the county of Rensselaer and State of New York, and TOBIAS S. HEIsTER, of the village of Lansingburg, in said county and State, have jointly invented and produced a new and original Design for Base-Burning Stoves, of which the following is a specification. reference being had to the accompanying cut, print, or engraving.
One part of this invention is the design for the vase A, consisting of the basestem a, globular body I), having the raised oblong quadrilateral ornament b, surrounded by the incut ornamentations b, angular looped handles o, with scroll ornaments c, and the flaring top (1, all shaped and combined as represented in the aforesaid out.
Another part is the design for the cylindrical upper section, consisting of the central rectangular raised tablet D, having the seallop ornaments j along its edges, and arranged on the plain surface j, inclosed by the filletmolding E, having salient and re-entrant angles, arranged as shown, the outer rectangular panel border k, having scallop ornamentations along its inner edges, and the linear angular and curved incut ornamentations l l, inclosing the scrollform corner ornaments all shaped and arranged together as shown in the aforesaid engraving.
Another part is the design for the mica doors, consisting of the mica-light apertures m, having the straight bottoms n and sides at and tops n, the concave inwardly-projecting corners n", and the incut linear scroll-form and trifid ornamentations 0, all shaped and arranged as represented in the aforesaid out.
Another part is the design for the side G of the lower section, consisting of the inner raised rectangular tablets q, having the ornamental borders q, he outer scalloped border '1", and the intermediate incut, linear, scroll-like, and tri-cleft ornamentation r all shaped and arranged on the curved suri ace s, as represented in the aforesaid engraving.
Another part is the design for the door H of the lower section, consisting of the central roundtop apertures t, having the ornamental borders t and lateral ornamentations t, the outer scalloped border a, and the intermediate incut, linear, scroll-form, and trifid ornamentations 11., shaped and arranged on theverticallyconcave and horizontally-convex surface a as shown in the aforesaid out.
Another part is the design for the legs, consistin g of the convexly-cu-rved portion X, with the central raised rectangular part X having the border ornamentation X the outer angular and curved side fillets y, and the in termediate incut ornaments Z Z Z all shaped and arranged together as shown in the afore said out.
\V hat we claim as our invention is-- 1. The design for the vase A composed of the parts a b b b c c d, all shaped and arranged as set forth.
2. The design for the cylindrical upper section, consisting of the parts D j j E is Z l Z, all shaped and arranged together as shown and described.
, 3. The design for the mica-light doors, consisting of the parts m n n n n 0, all shaped and arranged as shown and described.
4. The design for the side portion Gr, consisting of the parts q, q, r, r, and s, all shaped and arranged as set forth.
5. The design for the door H, consisting of the parts t t t u u u, all shaped and arranged as shown and described.
6. The design for the legs, consisting of the parts X X X y Z Z Z, all shaped and arranged as set forth.
