NICHOLAS S. VEDDER, OF TROY, AND TOBIAS S. HEISTER, OF LANSINGB'URG, NEW YORK, ASSIGNORS TO SAID VEDDER.
DESIGN FOR COOKING-RANGES. l
Specification forming part 0f Design No. 10,344, dated December l1, 1877 application filed November 16, 1877.
[Term of Patent 3i years] To all 'whom it may concern:
Beit known that we, NICHOLAS S. VEDDER, of the city of Troy, in the county of Rensselaer and State of New York, and TOBIAs S. HEIS- TER, of the village of Lansingburg, -in said countyT and State, have jointly invented and produced a new and original Design for Cook` ing-Ranges, of which the following is a speciication, reference being had to the accom pany` ing cut, print, or engraving.
One part of this invention is the design for the larger doors, consisting of the depressed rectangular tablet, surrounded by the raised flat rectangular border, having thereon the compound ornaments A, each composed of the border bead or fillet b, having its sides composed of the straight parts c c', concave parts d, recessed parts e, convex and inclined parts j', and inclined convex and pointed end parts g, and the inside ground h, having therein the circular parts i and trid ornaments j, and the ornaments B, each composed of the border fillet k, of a general trapezoidal shape, with a convexity, Z, in each inclined side, two convexities, m.. on the longest side, and a circular projection, n, on the shorter side, and inclosing the ground o, having therein the two eircular parts o, connected by the angle-fillet o2, all shaped and arranged as represented inthe aforesaid cut.
Another part is the design for the quadrilateral outer portion of the smaller side doors, the same consisting of the strap-like ornaments A' and corner ornaments B', all shaped, composed, and arranged as shown in the aforesaid cut.
Another part is the design for the upper door-panels, consisting of the compound ceiltral ornament C, composed of the cruciform middle part p, side scrolls p1, terminal trid part p2, intermediate angular part p on the quadrilateral tablet q, and the series of alternate large and small inward]v-pointing ornaments r along the border, all disposed substantially as shown in the accompanying cut.
Another part is the design for the panels D, consisting of the central quadrilateral tablet s, the series of inner border ornaments r', and the outer corner ornaments t, all shaped and arranged substantially as represented in the accompanying engraving.
That we claim as our invention is- 1. The design for the larger doors, consisting of the central depressed rectangulartablet and the raised rectangular border, having thereon the compound ornament A, composed of the parts b c c' d c f g h i j, and the compound ornament B, composed of the parts k l m n o cl 02, all shaped and arranged as shown and described.
2. The design for the outer portion of the smaller side doors, consisting of the eolnpound ornaments A' and B', composed, shaped, and arranged on the quadrilateral border, as shown and described.
3. The design for the upper door-panels, consisting of the ornamental border r and the tablet q, having thereon the ornament C, composed of the parts p, pl, p2, and p3, as de scribed.
4. The design for the panel D, consisting of the parts s, Ir', and t, all shaped and arranged as set forth.
