NICHOLAS S. VEDDER AND FRANCIS RITOHIE, OF TROY, NEV YORK, ASSIGNORS TO SVVETT, QUIMBY 85 PERRY, OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR COOKING-RANGE.
Specification forming part of Design No. 8,367, dated J une 1, 1875; application tiled May 21, 1875. [Term of Patent 7 years] To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that we, NloHoLAs S. VEDDER and FRANCIS RITCHIE, each of the city of Troy, in the county of Rensselaer and State of New York, have jointly invented and produced a new and original Design for Cooliing'Ranges, of which the following is a specitication, reference heilig' had to the accompanying photograph ot' a cooking-range, which embodies our said new design.
One part of this invention consists of the design for the corner panel ornament A, composed of the inwardlyextended parts b b, crossing' each other at right angles with lobed ends, intervening pointed and scroll ornament e, outer side scrolls cl d, and outside ornamenta tion e, all shaped and combined so as to appear substantially as represented in the aforesaid photograph.
Another part consists of the design for the side panel ornament F, composed ofthe angular crossing-beads y h i, with scroll ends jjjj, and connected with laterally-extended beadmoldings k 1r, all shaped and arranged together substantially as shown in the accompanying photographic illustration.
Another part of our invention is the design for a panel-border, consisting ofthe corner ornaments A, side ornaments F, and connecting bead-moldings It, all composed, shaped, and arranged together substantially as represented in the aforesaid photograph.
Another part is the design for the central panel-tablet L, the same being or' oblong rectangular form, with a border composed of an inside row, m, of raised convex scallops, the outside raised nioldingn, the in tervenin g molding o, with very ne oblique ribs therein, and the square corner pieces p, each with a dot in the middle, the whole being shaped and arranged on the plain surface r of the panel, so as to appear as represented in the aforesaid photograph.
Another part is the design for the outer portion cfa door or panel, composed of an outer compound molding, s, the inner row of convex scalloped ornaments t, the compound side ornaments F, the bead-moldin gs k, and the corner scroll and pointed ornaments c, all shaped and disposed around and upon the panel-sur face r, substantially as represented in the aforesaid illustration.
Another part is the design for the panel of a door, composed of the pointed and scroll ornamentations c at the corners, the angular crossing and scroll ornamentations u at the sides, and the intermediate connecting beadmoldings k, all shaped and arranged together as shown in the aforesaid photograph.
Another part is the design for the front fire door V, composed of the outer compound molding w, arched over the top of the door, and with concave and convex surfaces, and a row of inside beaded ornaments ag'and the straight standards y, connected at the bottom by straight horizontal bar-moldings, and at the top by the centrally-inclined and Iaterallyhorizontal eap-moldin gs z, all shaped and arranged together as represented in the aforesaid photographic print.
l Another part is the design for the foot or leg, composed ofthe border-moldings a a and inner scalloped edging' j', in combination with the raised ornamental representation lupon the plain swelling surface `v of the leg, all
shaped and arranged together as shown inthe aforesaid photograph.
The design for the knobs on the doors is not of our invention.
W'hat we claim as our invention is 1. The design for the corner panel ornament A, composed of the parts b b, ornamento, scrolls d (l, and ornament e, all shaped and arranged together as described and shown.
The design for the side panel ornament F, composed of the parts g h. jj jj, all shaped and arranged together as shown and described.
3. The design for the border panel ornamentation, composed of the corner ornaments A, side ornaments F, and connecting-moldiugs It, all shaped and combined as described and shown.
4. The design for the central panel-tablet L, of oblong rectangular t'orin, with a border composed ot' the inside row m otraised convex scallops, the outer raised molding n., the intervening depiessed molding o, with very line oblique ribs therein, and the square corner pieces p, all shaped and arranged together as shown and described.
5.v The design for the outer portion of a door or panel, composed of the compound molding s. ornamentation t, side ornaments F, moldings 7:1, and corner ornaments c, all shaped and arranged as specified and shown.
6. The design for a rectangular panel, coinposed of the corner ornaments c, side ornaments u, and connecting-moldin gs k, all shaped and arranged together as shown and described.
7. The design for the front tire-door V, consisting of the outer compound molding w, arched at top, the beaded ornamentation w, and the standards y, connected at the top by the centrally-inclined and laterally-horizontal moldings z, all shaped and arranged together as shown and described.
S. The design for the leg, composed of the border ornamental moldings a a, the inner scalloped edging f, and the ornamental representation l on the plain swelling surface e of the leg, all shaped and combined as represented in the aforesaid photographic illustration.
