DESIGN FOR RANGE.
Specification forming part of Design No. 8,850, dated December 14, 1875 application filed December B, i875. [Term of Patent 31!- years] To all whom it may concern:
Beit known that I, NICHOLAS S. VEDDEE, of the city of Troy, in the county of Rensselaer and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original ornamental Design for Cooking-Ranges, of which the foilowing is a specification, reference heinghad to the accompanying wood-cut, print,vor engraving ot' a range having my said new design.
One part of my invention is the design for the extended plate ornament A, consisting ot' the four bead-bars b, disposed in the form of an acute lozenge, and supported internally at and between the obtuse angles by the two pairs of united crescent ornaments c, with lance-heads d extending therefrom toward the acute angles, and with the compound scroll ornaments e projecting from the acute angles, allv shaped and arranged together ,substantially as shown in the aforesaid out.
My design for the outer portion ot' the quadran gular doors consists ofthe obliquely-marked inner molding F, the inclined surfaces G, and
thc outer ornamental border H, having the' outer scalloped edgingt and the inner serrate edging j, with an intervening bead, k, and corner-pieces l, all shaped and arranged substantially as shown in the aforesaid print, and irrespective of any ornaments on the inclined surfaces G.
My design for the smaller front door consists of the outer border H, having the scallop and serrate edgin gs t'j, the inclined surfaces G, molding F, and panel M, having thereon the compound Ornament A, composed as above specified, and the whole formed and disposed substantially as shown in the aforesaid engraving, and irrespective of other ornamental figures and forms on the door.
My design for the oven-door consists of the ornamental border H, the inclined surfaces G, with the compound ornaments A thereon, the molding F, and the inner tablet N, all shaped and arranged substantially as shown in the aforesaid cut, and irrespective ot' any ornamental letters, tigures, or forms on the said inner tablet.
My design for the l'egs consists of the circular swelling knee part o, having an ornamental letter thereon, and surrounded by the orna mental border p, having an inner row of semiglobular projections, the compound foot ornament q, and spreading scroll-top r, all shaped and arranged substantially as shown in the aforesaid print.
What I claim as my invention is- 1. The designfor the plate ornament A, consisting of the parts b, c, d, and e, shaped and arranged together as described.
2. The design for the outer portion of the doors, consisting of the molding F, inclined surfaces G, and border H, composed ofthe parts i, j, k, and l, as set forth.
3. The design for the smaller-door, consisting of the border H, inclined surface G, molding F, and panel M, with the ornament A thereon, as described.
4. The design for the oven-door, consisting of the parts H G A F N, as described.
5. The design for the legs, consisting of the parts o, p, q, and r, all shaped, ornamented, and arranged as set forth.
