Description

timid Sizing NICHOLAS S. VEDDER AND FRANCIS RITCHIE, OF TROY, ASSIGNORS TO RUSSELL WHEELER, OE UTICA, NEW YORK,
Design No. 4,611, dated January 24, 1871.
DESlGN FOR A COOKING-STOVE.
The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the same.
To all whom it may concern:
said stove. l The first part of my design consists in a compound ornament, composed of Scroll-work and bead-work, surmounted with an arch, from whose top issue dames.
The exact shape of this compound ornament, and the details of its configuration cannot be described, but are apparent upon an inspection of the abovementioned photograph.
The ornament is there fully shown, and is seen upon tbe center of the oven door, and also upon the raised panel.
This compound ornament is cast on and forms part of a plate of a stove and is applicable to the side, to a panel, a door, and the like, of any stove.
The second part of my design consists iu the combination with this compound ornament of an ornamental border-molding or moldings.
Around the outer border of the oven door is a molding representing a twisted cord. Within this cordmolding is a bead-molding extending around the inner border of said door.
Around the panel which contains the compound ornament runs a bead-molding.
There is no molding of twisted cord around said panel, but, if deemed advisable, it will be added to the panel as it now is to tbe oven-door. These moldings are cast on in the same manner as the` compound ornaments are.
I do not limit the application of my compound or nalnent, or its combination with the moldings mentioned, to any particular kind of stove or to any particular part thereof.
I propose to use the said compound ornament either with or without one or both of said border-moldings.
