DESIGN.
. SHEPPARD COOKING RANGE UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE,
ISAAC A. SHEPPARD, OF PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA.
DESIGN FOR A COOKING-RANGE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No.l5,623, dated December 16, 1884-.
Application tiled October 17, 1884. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, ISAAC A. SHEPPARD, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, have invented or produced a new and original Design for a Cooking-Range, of which the following is a specification.
My design for a cookingrange is fully shown in the accompanying photographic illustration. The range has a flat-top upper body, with reservoir-extension at the rear, and a lower body between the upper body and the heartlrplate.
The general design of each of the doors on the sides of the range consists of an outer raised rim and a fiat face or border surron nding a central raised panel, both the rim and border being ornamented with figures consisting of raised line-work, too fully shown in the illustration to need any detailed description. The central panels of the reservoir-door, hot closet door, and lower ash-pit door (adjacent to said hot-closet door) are also ornamented with raised line-work. The panel of the ovendoor has raised line-work along its outer por tion, and is furnished with a central medallion ornamented with engraved or sunken lines. At the end of the oven-door are the fire-place door and upper ash-pit door, the fire-place door having a central panel with two glazed openings, and the upper ash-pit door a circular damper. At the end of the range are the upper dampendoor and lower dampenplate, having the usual oblong openings, with ornamentation between said openings. Beneath the upper damper-door is an oblong panel, and at each end of the same an ornamented vertical panel, and beneath these panels are the end ash-pit doors, each having two glazed openings. ()n the end of the lower body of the range is a raised panel ornamented with linework of the same general character as that on the restof the range.
I claim- The design for a cooking-range, said design consisting of the ornamentation described and shown.
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
ISAAC A. SHEPPARD.
