DESIGN FOR COOK-STOVES.
Specification forming part of Design No. 6,549, dated April 1, 1873; application filed February 3, 1873.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that 1, WILLIAM G. SEMPLE, of Cincinnati, in the county of Hamilton and State of Ohio, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a (look-Stove, of which the following is a specification:
The nature ofmy design is fully represented in the accompanying wood engraving, to which reference is made. It consists, first, in the conformation of the feeding-hopper; second, in shields or bosses and other ornamental devices formed upon the fire-doors; third, in the ornamentation of the oven-doors; fourth, in the form and ornamentation of the feet; filth, in the general contour of the entire stove.
The top of the feed -hopper projects forward and downward from the front plate 3 of the stove with recessed corners, the beaded edge of the drooping plate A being made to correspond with that of the main top plate of the stove. The under part 0 of the hopper is formed slightly concave, and ribbed or grooved, as represented. The several fire-doors I) D E are formed with projecting bosses F and ornamental borders G, the character of which is clearly shown in the engraving. The oven-door or doors H are ornamented by the figure of a spread-eagle cast in relief, surmounted by a small scroll, on which the name of the manufacturer or any other name maybe cast. The lower parts of the feet are formed with angular faces, and upon the upper portion of each is a shieldlikc surface containing a star.

The following is claimed as new l. The conformation of the projecting feedhopper A U, substantially as set forth.
2. The eagle and snrrouinling ornamental border on the ovendoor.
The ornamental devices on the tiredoors D D E, as shown.
4. The ornamental feet, formed as represented.
5. A square-formed cooking-stove with top plate, side plates, front feet, hopper, hearth, fire-doors, and oven-doors of the general contour herein shown.
