H. CLAY BASCOM AND OYRUS A. HODGES, OF TROY, N. Y., ASSIGNORS TO N. S. VEDDER PATTERN VORKS, BASOOM, GALBRAITH & CO., OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR A COOKlNG-STOVE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 14,491, dated December 18, 1883.
Application tiled November 3, 1883. Term of pateut' years.
To all whom it 11mg/ concern.-
Be it known that we, H. CLAY BAsCoM and CYRUs A. HODGEs, citizens of the United States, residing in the city of Troy, in the county of Rensselaer and State of New York, have jointly invented and produced a new and original Design for Cooking-Stoves, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying cut, print, or
IO engraving, representing our said new design.
rlhe design for the side of the stove-body consists of the ovendoor A and fire-box door B, shaped, ornamented, and arranged ou the plate C so as to present substantially the same 15 appearance as is represented in the aforesaid engravlng.
The design for the front of the stove consists of the doors D D E and plate F, shaped, ornamented, and arranged substantially as shown in said print.
The design for the side of the rear extension consists of the panel G and door H, shaped, ornamented, and disposed so as to present substantially the same appearance as is represented in said cut.
The design for the oven-door A consists of the panel ornament I and oblique ornamented band J J, shaped and arranged together substantially as shown,with or without either the semicircular ornamentation ct or the angular ornamentation b, or both of those ornamentations.
The design for the panel ornament I is composed of the rectangular border c, inclosing the eight-rayed ornament (l, shaped and arranged together as shown in the accompanying engraving.
The design for the door B and panel G consists of the panel ornament I and contiguous 4o ornaments e f, shaped and arranged together on the raised rectangular surface g, substantially as shown.
The design for the door H consists of the panel ornament I and diagonal band h. h, shaped and arranged as shown, with or without either one or both of the ornamentations i i.
The design for the front doors, D D, consists of the panel ornament I, arranged upon and with its sides parallel to the sides of the raised rectangular surface j, as shown,with 0r 'without the side ornaments, k, or the top and bottom ornaments, l.
The design for the legs consists of the row of ornaments m on and along the upper part, in combination with the ornaments n on the convex part 0, all shaped and arranged as shown.
We claim as our invcntion-.
1. The design for the side of the stove-bod composed of'thc parts A B C, shaped and namcnted as set forth.
2. The design for the storefront, composed of the parts D D E F, shaped and ornamented as set forth.
3. The design for the side of the rear extension, consisting of the parts G H, shaped and ornamented as herein described.
4. The design for the ovendoor A, composed of the parts I J J, shaped and arranged together as set forth.
5. The design for the panel ornament I, composed of the parts c d, shaped and arranged together as shown and described.
6. The design for the door B and for the panel G, composed of the parts I c f, as shown and described.
7. The design for the door I-I, consisting of the parts I IL h, shaped and arranged as shown and described.
8. The design for the doors D D, composed of the parts I j, shaped and arranged as described and shown.
9. The design for the legs, composed of the parts fm n o, as shown and described.
