.lle it known that 1, ll. (in-tr Basvon, a citizen of the United States, residing in the city of lroy, in the county of l'tensselaer and State of New York, have invented and pro duced a new and original Design for larlor- Stoves, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompany ing engraving of a stove having said design.

The urn shown on the cover of the stove is not a part of my present design.

This design embraces several new and distinctive parts and combinations of parts which go to make up the whole design, as hereinafi ter set forth.

()no part of this design relates to the shape and ornamentation of the cover A, the same being of oblong quadrilateral form, and having the series of rectangular apertures a along its upwardly and inwardly inclined lower portion, and the raised upper portion having the middle floral. ornaments, b, the obliquely and laterally extending oblong apertures c, the obliquely and inwardly extending oblong end apertures, c, and the intervening triangular parts (1. Another part relates to the shape and ornamentation of the two corner pilasters B, each having the flat front surface, a, with parallel upright edges, the capital f, and the two oblong rectangular ornamented panels 9, as shown.

Another complete distinctive part of this design is the ornamentation of the front plate, 0, consisting of the laterallyextending branch ing compound vine, leaf, and floret ornament h, the row of radiating ornaments 'i, and the intervening semi-fanform end ornaments connected by a beading, as shown. Another distinctive separate part is the shape and ornamentation of the forWardly-proj ecting firebox casing E, consisting of the row of radiating ornaments m in the series of oblong panels, having contiguous parallel sides and rounded top and bottom ends, the row of knob ornaments n, and the ornamental end 0, as shown.

Another integral part of this design is the shape and ornamentation of the forward baseextension consisting of the hearth-plate L and bottom extension-plate, K, each having their forward corners and. upper edges rounded, and the intermediate upright plates embrarn ing the door F, having the rectangular border 11, the row of apertures p, with rounded tops and rectangular bottoms, and the intervening scale-bands 1 capped by the ornaments q, and the rectangular end panel, G, having the com pound ornament 1', consisting of a central rosette in a rectangular bead-frame,with outwardlv 'lro'iccting lobe-form ornaments at the sides and corners. Another part is the shape and ornamentation ot the end plate, H, mm bracing the upper rectangular panel, 8, having the compound floral ornament s, and the larger lower rectangularpanel, 1, having the compound floral ornament t.

The design for the legs J consists of the conveXly-cur\-ed surface as, having the curved beaded edges :r', the compound floral orna ment 3], the contracted part 5, and the foot 2'.

The design for the stove consists of the shape and ornamentation of the cover A, top plate, M, pilasters 18, front plate, 0, firebox casing I l, forward base-extension, L K F G, end plate, H, and legs J, substantially as shown, whether either of the doors D, having the parts j 7t Z, or the skirting I, having the parts a 'u w w, shall or shall not be added.

I claim as new--- 1. In a design for a stove, the shape and ornamentation of the open-work cover A, embracing the parts a b n c (l, as shown and described.

2. In a design for a stove, the shape and ornamentation of the pilasters B, embracing the parts of g, as shown and described.

In a design for a stove, the ornamentation of the front plate, (1, consisting of the compound ornament h, row of radiating ornaments 2', and the intervening connected Semifan-form ornaments, as shown and described.

4. In a design for a stove, the shape and ornamentation of the forwardly-projecting fire-box casing E, embracing the ornamental parts m, a, and 0, as shown and described.

5. In a design for a stove, the shape and ornamentation of the forward base-extension, embracing the parts L K F p p q and G r, as shown and described.
