lie it known that we, lI. CLAY liASttHI and (Ym's A. lIoomcs. citizens of the linitcd States, residing in the city of Troy, in the county of ltcnsselaer and State of New York, have jointly invented and produced a new and original Design for Cooking-Stoves, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying ent. print, or engrav- IO ing of a cooking-stove having our said new design.

This design embraces several new and distinct parts and combinations of parts which go to make up with beneficial efleet the whole design, as shown in the accompanying illustration, and hereinafter described.

One part is the shape and ornamentation of the front door, A, consisting of the upper portion, B, having the angular border a, the ornamented curved surface b, and thethree quadrilateral mica lights 0, with truncate corners, the inclined partd, and the flat lower portion, 0, having the six draft-apertures e, with truncate upper corners, and the intermediate or naments, f.

The general trapezoidal shape of the door or panel D is not new; but the same when ornamented by the corner ornaments, i, and central ornament, i, is a part of this design.

The general shape of the oven-door E having the borderjis not new; but the ornamen tation of that door by the corner ornaments, I, and the central ornament, F, consisting of the parts in n 0 n is a distinctive pa t of this de- Sign.

The whole design embraces the shape and ornamentation of the top, the front, including the door A, heartlrplate, and forward extension, the side, including the portions I), I), G, and II. and the legs.

\Ve claim as new 1. Ina design for a store, the shape and ornamcntation of the front door, A, consisting of the parts 3, d, and C, as shown and described.

2. In a design for a store, the shape and ornamentation of the door or panel D, consisting of the parts 5 h i 2?, as shown and described.

3. In a design for a stove, the ornamentation of the oven-door E, consisting of the parts F and I on the surface, surrounded by the border j, as shown and described.

4. In a design for a stove, the ornamentation of the rear side rectangular panel, G, consisting of the parts 1' and r on the surface q, surrounded by the border as shown and described.

5. In a design for a stove, the shape and ornamentation of the bracket-plate H, consisting of the parts 8 and t, as shown and described.

6. In a design fora stove, the shape and ornamentation of the legs, consisting of the parts 7 5 u v w w y, as set forth.

7. The design for a cooking-stove, consisting of the top, front, side, and legs, shaped and ornamented as described and shown.
